Cineora @ Sasa

If you shop Sasa you probably already noticed that they updated the website and have quite a few new items.

A few months ago Iris from Rouge Deluxe gifted me with a beautiful Cineora Powder and Eyeliner set. You can click here to read about it.

Cineora was a brand I never heard about prior to receiving this gift. I had never seen it on my trips to Japan and it was quite brand new to my eye.

After trying it I soon fell deeply in love with it especially the powder. You can’t appreciate the powder as much unless you’re facing the dilemma I currently am.

As of late my undereye area is extremely dry. I’ve always had dry patchy skin in the Winter and oily in the Summer. But this year I find that my undereye area is suffering terribly. I’m not sure if I can blame it on the weather and to be honest I think much of it has to do with getting older.

Fact is I find myself applying eye cream day and night now instead of once daily. I also see the fine lines creeping in and I’m freaking out in a major way.

Well….

That’s all rather depressing.

The moral of the story is that I normally apply concealer and I pat my powder on under my eye area to set. I am no longer able to do this. My eye area is so dry that applying powder after my cream concealer is literally aging me 10 years or more. Seriously. So now I’m faced with the horror of having to just apply my cream concealer minus powder to set it which means my concealer isn’t lasting as long as I’d like.

The powder and the concealer is caking badly due to my eye area being so dry!!

The good news is Cineora Powder has saved the day! Serious.

The powder is super fine, silky, and light. It smooths under my eye area to set my concealer without creasing, fading, or aging me due to my dry skin! Bless be!

I’ve received many an email about the cute packaging Cineora comes in and where can it be purchased etc…

The only way you could get this would be jumping a flight or calling on a dear friend (if you have any living in Japan).

I’ve never seen this sold online, be it E-bay or online shops. Nowhere have I seen these products sold.

So what’s the really good news?

Well if my previous post (and this post) have created any lemmings for Cineora you can now purchase it at Sasa.com!

I can’t say how thrilled I am this is available at Sasa! It saves me the trouble of asking friends to get it for me and ship it over! It’s a bit more expensive but the packaging and the product is so brilliant I don’t think you’ll mind much shelling out the money!

Sadly, they only carry the powder and the mascara. No liner as of yet. But I’m just happy to have a place to replenish my powder and not have my mates running around Tokyo to get this for me!

You can click here if you’re interested in fulfilling your need for Cineora!

Cineora as far as I know doesn’t have a huge line up and I believe the powder, liner, and mascara is it. But it’s such a killer brand you won’t mind that they don’t have a ton to offer as the powder will completely wow you enough!

The powder is available for $16.50 USD and the mascara is available for $13.90 plus Free Shipping for orders over $50! Sadly, the liner (which I love!) is not available as of yet on the site!

This is most definately a Muse Approved item!

This is great! I have super-dry skin too (I suffer from Hashimoto’s), and I searched long and hard for a good, non-irritating, non-drying, long-lasting powder. My search ended when I discovered Pout and their Translucent Loose Powder, but sadly, as soon as I purchased my backup, Pout decided to close up shop. I’m definitely going to try Viseora’s as soon as my Pout runs out. I’ve heard La Mer’s is good too (but at $65? Yikes!).

Sasa’s site does have a hilarious Engrish description of the powder, but no references to ingredients or the size/weight of the powder. Sigh.

Speaking of Korean brands, I was curious: have you tried Kesalan Patharan’s cult-status powder? If so, what did you think of it?

    Dear Iz,

I’m so happy to read that it’s working so well for you 🙂 I’d be more than happy to help you pick up some back ups of Cineora products the next time I’m in Japan.

As for the dryness around your eye area, perhaps switch to a more heavy duty eye cream? Kiehls makes several eye creams and I’m sure you can find one that will suit your needs.

    *Hugs*

Same thing happened to me years ago. Nasty dry patches under my eyes. A friend worked for Lancome at the time and did some research into eye creams. I began to use La Prairie cellular eye cream, and have not had the patchy thing since. It is very good and moisturizing at bedtime. I don’t like it under makeup, though. So in the day I use the Shiseido Benefiance. Also important is the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch to apply before concealer. It helps with creasing. Cineora only seems to have the powder in lavender and pink on SaSa. Yours looks beige. ???

ooooh, souNds good. I have the exact same problem – putting powder under my eyes, or indeed anymore on my desert-like skin -ages me 10 years. And I am 34 so that is NOT a good thing!~

Have you ever tried Laura Mercier powder (can’t remember the name- white and silky and brightening)? It is supposed to not make your skin look dry but it does, so I am hoping this would still work for me! I guess at 17 bucks it won’t blow the bank if it doesn’t work.

  • Taryn

Iris got me some of this too, and I agree – it’s very nice!

Also, check out Awake’s Stardom Aqua Trans Powder. You can get it online at Beauty.com and flagship B&BW stores carry it in person. Maybe Neiman Marcus too – not sure. It’s a very fine powder that feels wet on your skin, but still gives you a nice finish. The wet feeling is due to the high water content. I just love this stuff!

    Hey mandy 🙂

This is very very light and very sheer and I’m happy it doesn’t ake under my eye! My eyes are soooooooo dry lately 🙁

The good news is you’ll be able to find tons of pout on ebay and MUA for at least a year or so more 🙂 But I understand how it feels finding a love and losing it to a dc sigh!

La Mer anything scares me! Too costly! Even if it works great I really can’t see myself shelling out for the cost!

LOL Sasa has alot of weird engrish details hehehe! I’ve no idea what’s in it. I should pay attention to these things but sadly I don’t 🙁 *blush*

I love KP but never tried the powder only shadows. Could be worth a try though since KP is fairly reasonable in price!

It’s tough finding a powder that works well for dry skin 🙁

    Hey Iris 🙂
    Happy to see you!

Thanks sweetie! Greatly appreciate it 🙂

I’ve been trying to find a really heavy eye cream for nighttime! I haven’t tried Keihls yet but I’m slowly making the rounds trying to find the perfect one as I want a light one for day and a heavier one for night!

    Huge hugs back love!

  • the Muse

    Hi Anonymous!

Thanks for the comment! I may try it if it worked for you! I’m trying to find a heavy duty night eye cream!

After recommending the Clarins I did a search and see rave reviews about it smoothing the undereye area! I’m excited to try it so I ordered it from Sephora!

Do you use it after applying your eye cream?

I noticed that 🙁 I think the pink might be good though for touch ups but sadly no flesh color! maybe they’ll update?! Cross fingers!

Thanks again for the comment and the rec for Clarins!

  • the Muse

    ‘ello lucy 🙂

Gosh I look terrible lately with powder under my eyes 🙁 I’m 30 this year and it just seems like it ages me. Dunno if it’s the dryness or my age 🙁

    I’m pulling a kylie hehhee!

I haven’t tried the Laura Mercier one! Another to check out 😉 Thanks for the rec! I’m willing to try anything! I can’t use my normal staples due to this problem so I’m searching out different options 😉

Thanks for the rec my love!

    Hugs!

    Hi Taryn!

It’s nice and lightweight which I’m loving!

I’ve read SOOO much about the Aqua Trans Powder. Which do you rec? I was thinking the Gold or Pink!

What type of brush do you use for application or are you using a sponge?

Curious as hell about this and may buy it for sure!

    Thanks for the rec 😉

    Hugs!

Anonymous again. Yes, I use the Clarins after eye cream. But I let the eye cream sink in a bit. Do get a sample of the La Prairie Cellular eye cream and see what you think. It is expensive, but it should probably help with the patches of dry skin. I find the Shiseido Benefiance light and yet emolliant enough to work well under concealers. Good luck.

    Muse,

I have it in Venus Sea, which is a basic translucent shade. It is single-handedly my favorite powder of all time. It never looks chalky or filmy. It comes with a nice puff, which I use 99% of the time. You can’t put the puff on top of the powder though – you need to use the separate little vented pouch they include to prevent mildew or bacteria buildup since it has such a high water content. I really don’t think you could go wrong with any shade of this and when my skin is parched from retinoids, this soothes it like nothing else!

Hope that helps you some. 😀

    hi again Anonymous!

Thanks so much! I’ll try all these! Especially the Clarins for filling in the lines!

    Many, many thanks!

  • the Muse

    Hi Taryn!

Thanks so much for the tips! I’m very eager to give this a whirl now. PF used to do a similar powder ages ago. Dunno if they still have it on the market but it had an amazingly high water content and was so refreshing on the skin!

This sounds divine! Plus it’s not too expensive either which is a plus!

Thanks for the rec! I’ll do a review as soon as I have it!

    😉
