Too Faced Spring 2008 Collection: Galactic Glam

Too Faced is taking us too a galaxy far, far away with it’s Spring Collection entitled Galactic Glam!

Much of the collection consists of quick fixes such as a new primer, liner and cleanser but some interesting eyeshadows and such have popped up too!

Borderline $18.50 USD

This pencil is a colorless stick that keeps your lipgloss from traveling all over your face and down your chin to your cheek…etc….you know what I mean right? It’s been done before but Too Faced decided to jump on the bandwagon and do their very own version! I’m slightly curious. I’ve tried pencils like this before and haven’t had much success to be honest.

Shadow Insurance $17 USD

Nothing can tear me away from my Urban Decay Potion Primer not even Too Faced’s new shadow insurance. This primer promises that your eyeshadow will stick all day however I already have my trusty UDPP so I’m not really needing to try anything new plus my primer is $2 bucks cheaper! Ya Boyeeeeeee!

Lip of Luxury $18 USD

Now here’s an interesting little lipstick. It’s champagne infused. I wonder what the hell that means? Do you think they inject it with tiny doses of champagne? I’m in if they do! Nothing like a bit of bubbly on the side of my lipstick! I love the cute pink packaging with sparkly diamond topper!

The Hopeless Romantic Quickie Palette $29.50 USD

Meh…another quickie chronicle? I don’t really like these too much to be honest as I find them messy! They are ok I guess if I can find them on sale but really to pay full price I’m not interested. The set includes two layers instead of the standard one layer so it’s somewhat unique in that!

Lash Injection Antidote $23.50 USD

This is basically formulated to remove Lash Injection but they forget to mention how much Lash Injection sucks! I don’t need a $23.50 mascara remover when the said mascara comes off without any help at all! Lash Injections sheds fibers like a cashmere sweater! You don’t need a remover when it comes off so easily by itself!

Mood Swing $18.50 USD

Another lipgloss that promises to be your custom shade of color. Probably doesn’t work. Just my humblest!

Galaxy Glam Eyeshadow $19.50 USD

Ahhh the star of the show! Now these are something to get hyper about! These shadows are infused with beautiful swirls of shimmering blues, golds, greens, and pink! They look rather awesome to my eye but I’m a tad bit worried that they won’t give the desired look I’m hoping for and just turn black when on! We shall see!

ooOOoo, the eyeshadows are very pretty! i might get them just to look at them. :0)

if the lipstick has champagne in it, i’ll eat it. heehee

  • K.D

Am i the only one feeling blah about this stuff? Too faced just doesn’t excite me 😛

  • MandyPandy

I tried the eyeshadows back in Sephora and though I love baked powders and the eyeshadows themselves look amazing, they’re all more or less variations on the same color: black (bluish-black, greenish-black, etc..) They’re not exactly as silky or easy to use as I would like and they don’t apply as smoothly as I want them to.

They look like the kind of thing that would do brisk trade at the Franklin Institute or the Museum of Natural History; they appeal to the geek in me.

  • MandyPandy

PS: I’ll see your “Ya Boyeeeeeee!” and raise you a “Flavor Flaaaaaave!”.

  • the Muse

    Hey gez!

Welcome back! Love chatting with ya!

LOL! You sound like me 😉 I buy things just to look at too!

I’ll dine with you on the lipstick 😉

If we ask nice they may do a caviar flavor to go with our bubbly!

    Hugs!

  • the Muse

You’re not the only one KD! The line just is meh for me. And too Faced in general doesn’t always thrill me! it’s rare that I purchase it!

  • the Muse

Mmm just as I suspected Mandy!

I figured they’d all look the same o’ same o’ 🙁 The shadows will take an expert hand to apply in my opinion as black is a tricky one!

sigh. they sure do look pretty 🙁

They appeal to my inner geek too but sadly it’s a no go as I know I’ll never make them work even though they are damn pretty and geeky chic!

I take your favor flavveeeeeeee and bring it to the next level baby with “word to your mother”

or if you want to be geeky about wurd to yur muther!

    😉

    Bring it on!

  • the Muse

ps don’t think I don’t see your whore self all over ever blog on the beauty blog network!

At first I thought I was special with your loving treatment I’ve since realized your whoring yourself all over the place with lilan, gezebel, rows, and many others!

I’m deeply upset. I almost, but not quite, cried myself to sleep last night over it!

  • Taryn

Wouldn’t you know I was at Sephora today and forgot to check out which of these shadows was the wearable one? I *think* it’s the one with the gold swirls. The rest were just black on me.

I’m another one that is normally not thrilled with Too Faced. They’re really mediocre compared to brands like MUFE and UD!

  • intenseclass

To be honest, I’m not all that excited about this collection. I’m probably only going to get the shadows. And I have the same worry as you – they will go on a big blob of black.

  • serenity.

i’m not much of a two faced gal. i do love their lash injection, though. it really works for my wimpy asian lashes. i have a question! do you know any sites that sell the cute japanese or korean makeup? i don’t quite like adambeauty. do you buy your products online or do your wonderful friends get them for you? i go to school in indiana and my mom would not let me bring my whole makeup collection up to school with me so pretty much everything i have with me i acquired over the last two years. i NEED to expand my school makeup collection! hahaha, thank you for reading my little rant, miss muse! <3

  • the Muse

    Hey Taryn!

You were the one that told me aobut the gold swirly one 😉

I concur. The brand isn’t all that fab! Only meh!

    Hugs!

  • the Muse

    Hi intenseclass!

I have a funny feeling the shadows are going to be just messy. Black is difficult to apply and even with the promise of gold, pink, and such mixed in I’ll probably skip!

    Thanks for your comment 😉

  • the Muse

    Hi serenity!

I just can’t love lash injection. It does nothing for me! Have you tried opera lash or fiberwig? Many of my asian friends complain about breakage and small lashes and find these two work very well!

If you mind me asking why don’t you like adambeauty? Most of the items I get are from friends for one reason, price. I’m outraged by some of the prices I find online. It’s downright scary what people charge online for asian brands!

However when I’m desperate I normally visit a few shops!

    Here’s a list for ya:

http://Www.facial-shop.com The girl’s name is Vivian here and she’s a sweetie. Very helpful! Her prices are not bad either. She doesn’t get standard Japanese brands but she has a few. She has alot of korean and chinese brands!

http://ichibankao.com the girl here is kelly and she’s very sweet and helpful. Her prices are a bit on the high side sometimes but sometimes you can nab a deal or too!

http://www.bobodave.com he’s a very nice guy too but his prices are strange as well however I find he’s a good honest seller. People have had probs with him in the past but he’s always been very good to me.

Also if you’re doing decent size orders it never hurts to ask in friendly way if they’ll cut a deal for you. Sometimes they will and sometimes they won’t but it never hurts to ask.

If I’m buying online my top two have to be http://www.adambeauty.com and http://www.gooddealer.com http://www.jpmon.com

I love jpmon and use it often and gooddealer is great but the owner doesn’t speak much english so sometimes it’s difficult.

Also hijapan is a good place to nab older stuff you can’t find anymore!

    http://sh1.yahoo.edyna.com/hijapan/item_cata.asp?cata_id=42910

If you can read characters even better for hijapan and jpmon! If not I have a tutorial up for jpmon!

    I hope this helps 🙂

Before purchasing online I’m a bit caution so I check all the sites online to see the original price tag of what I am buying and I proceed to choose the cheapest online shop.

Normally xmas is a busy time for my friends and winter in general as they have classes and other things to attend to so they can’t get me items. This is when I do alot of online shopping 🙂

Aw I understand totally! I’d be sad without my cosmetics with me 😉

I hope this helps you out!

Looking forward to hearing from you in comments again! Love talking to you!

    Hugs!

  • MandyPandy

Well, maybe if you paid more attention to me, I wouldn’t have to go elsewhere for a little online affection! And don’t think I didn’t see you stealing from Izzy Junior’s college funds to finance your online shopping sprees! I keep making excuses for you Izzy, but this is the last straw! *sobs uncontrollably*

  • the Muse

please baby don’t cry! You know what your tears do to me!

I’m so sorry I’ve been sticking my hand into the kids tuition to fund my addiction! I promise I’ll put it back!

I’m gonna try to make this relationship work if it kills me! Please forgive me? I’ll buy you edible underwear for Valentine’s day if you just forgive me this once?
    k?
    please?

I’ll even over the look the fact that you’re on everyone and their mother’s blog!

Izzy Junior? I thought we decided to name our wannabe Suri baby Sakura…

Do you have kids online with someone else I don’t know about??????????

    MY GOD! You h0r!
    😉

  • serenity.

thank you for all the sites! i don’t like adambeauty because its products don’t usually catch my eye. 🙁

i can safely say that you are my MOST FAVORITE beauty blogger. 😉

  • Lydia

ooooooo these eyeshadows do look awesome but I also think they might just turn black when you put em on. I really like too faced eyeshadows though, they stay on really nice!

  • the Muse

    hi serenity!

Really? He carries standard japanese lines! You’re most welcome, my pleasure! What lines are you looking for most?

    Aw thanks honey! *mwah*

  • the Muse

    Hi Lydia!

Yes 🙁 sadly that’s definately the case with these I’d say!

They are quite pigmented and long-wearing that’s for sure!

    thanks for the comments!

  • Lauren

I know it’s a while after they came out, but the chocolate Galaxy Glam collection is amazing! I have Cocoa Comet and Magenta Moon and they are GORGEOUS! If you can find them on eBay I suggest buying them! That’s where I found mine and they were cheap!
