Laneige Snow Radiant Blusher Review

I was browsing around the Laneige site a few weeks ago and I came across the The Secret of the Snow Crystal Snow Radiant Blushers. Sounds like an epic motion picture! Now playing The Secret of the Snow Crystal starring Bai Ling!

I’m not entirely sure if these were from the Holiday Collection or not and after much discussion and debate with a friend we decided that maybe they were something available from the Korean side of Laneige only!

Anyway!

I ended up getting the entire three that were released because they simply reminded me of MAC Mineralized Skinfinish and I rock Mineralized Skinfinish so that meant I’d be sure to shower love all over these!

These were about the same cost as an MSF and honestly they have the potential for converting non MSF users. Some folk hate Mineralized Skinfinish because they are glittery and shimmery. A wide range of the colors released thus far have contained chunky bits of glitter and not everyone likes to hose themselves down with glitter the way the Muse does!

Those of you who may have ranted that MAC’s powders have some major shimmer will be delighted to know that these perform the way you probably hoped for from MAC. They highlight, create a soft glow on your face, and enhance your blush minus the shimmer and glitter.

The powder is soft and silky and easy to blend. The effect that these create is what I call a sort of photo finish glow. You can use these on natural bare skin or over your blush. I personally like to use them over my blush. You can also contour areas of your face for extra highlighting if you prefer.

I think they are quite a nifty powder to add to your beauty arsenal and a wonderful alternative if you’re not loving the amount of shimmer you get from a MAC Mineralized Skinfinish!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. ahhhh this is extremly tempting… especially the part it is less glittery than MSF hehe.. not a big fan of glitter sometimes.

  • Yazmena

OMG Muse I sooooo want these. What site did you get them off of? Thanks!

  • Vanessa

Izzy! haha i’ve been meaning to ask you about these! LOL, I am such a ditz when it comes to international makeup yet at the same time I wanna get my hands on it! Just out of curiosity how much do these run for USD?

And where can I get them? I am actually interested in getting these and the ones featured on Row’s blog…they look awesome!

OMG! Mac raised their prices today, what the hell. Check out the website. I bought whole bunch of brushes just yesterday, just in time. WOW! This blows.

  • the Muse

    Hey Ping! What’s up hun!

I think lots of people HATE msf because of the hardcore glitter although the few released with the N Collection were a bit more subdued 😉

This is a great alternative to MSF!

    Hugs!
    Happy Weekend!

  • the Muse

    Hiya Yazmena!

Funny story with these. I asked a few people to CP these for me without success and then I happened to be browsing on facial shop and low and behold there they were 🙂

She still has ’em too if you want them!

    Happy Weekend!

  • the Muse

  • the Muse

    Hiya Amy 🙂

thank you!!!!!! They are indeed but I actually like MSF better hehe..I miss the glitter with these!

  • the Muse

    hi Anonymous!

oh no. Guess it was about time 🙁 Sigh. Is it brushes only or cosmetics as well? The brushes are expensive but well worth it. It was about time for the cosmetics as I believe it’s been about 2 years since the raise of shadows from 13:50 to 14.00!

That does blow 🙁 but at least it’s great quality 😉

  • Jennifer

OMG these are gorgeous!! You really have to help me put together a list of products to get from Korea when my mom goes in a month or so…pretty please!

  • Izar

Lol, at first I thought they were some kind of electronic gadget, what with the holographic sheen and the strong contours. All the more reasons for me to love them, actually: I love both makeup and gadgets. 🙂 Not to mention they look fabulous, especially Pink Prism.

  • ?~Eru~?

    Hey sweetie!!
Im in love with those blushers!! They look actually better than MSFs if thats possible. :3
Oh, ive sent you an email! I know youre a busy girl but hope you can answer me, whenever youre able.
    Hugs!!!
    🙂

  • Ann the Queen

hey izzy.. where did you say you get them again? from korea’s laneige?

  • YM

    hello

i was eying these up the other day but was not that tempted as i have not had such good experiences with past laneige products – their base cosmetics are too scented for my liking. now that you compare them with MSFs i am definitely keen try!

also, did you get your laneige spring collection from jpmon?

    thanks!

    yin

  • Maggie

    Oh! These are so pretty!

It’s true what you say – I love the idea of MSFs more than the actual MSFs. I’m actually a big fan of the Laura Geller versions, and the ones from Pupa. Softer glow, more pigmentation.

  • Bliss

OOooo Muse, this is such a great review, i just bought some stuff from Laniege and now you recommending these, i didn’t check this , now i so want Laneige Snow Radiant Blusher in Pink Prism hehehh

  • Ping.

hey hey! pretty alright weekend.. haha i can’t wait to go check it out, laneige just came to Malaysia recently.. pretty expensive though..

  • (g)ezebel

the compacts are sooooo pretty…! i MUST have that “snow” one.

  • the Muse

    Hey Jen Jen!

I thought so too 😉 I’ll totally do that 😉 There are some fab brands in Korea! Your mum has to pick you up some clio! have you seen my blogs about clio? Such an awesome awesome brand! Love the shadows and blushes 😉

And of course Laneige 🙂 and tons of other stuff hehe! Lucky you!

    Happy Weekend!

  • the Muse

    Hey Izar! *hugs*

LOL! Yes! The flash made it look all high tech 😉

I love gadgets myself 😉 and of course cosmetics!

Pink Prism is actually my fab 🙂

    Cheers!
    Happy Weekend!

  • the Muse

    hi Ann.

It was a debate where exactly these were from. I had a friend looking in Japan without success and another one that looked in ‘pore without success. After discussion we decided it had to be the Korean side of Laniege that had these 😉

After that I scored them on Facial Shop!

    Hope this helps!
    *hugs*

  • the Muse

    Hello Yin!

Scented? Really? I’ve never really noticed any scent! BP now that’s a brand that’s very heavily scented! Interesting you said that they were a bit too scanted for your liking! I’ll have to sniff a bit 😉 hehe!

They are most definately comparable to MSF minus the hardcore shimmer. Laneige is not available on JPmon sadly 🙁

However Facial Shop does carry the brand and these 😉

    Hope that helps!

    *hugs*

  • the Muse

    hey Maggie 🙂

Agreed they are! I haven’t tried the Pupa yet but I’ve been curious! I was curious about the shadows as well! Laura Geller makes a few nice ones! I like the berry one she has! Very soft and beautiful 😉

    *hugs*
    Happy Weekend!

  • the Muse

    Hey Christy!

Do let me know whatcha think when you get them!

    Thanks for visiting!
    Happy Weekend!

  • the Muse

Hey Biss 😉 How are you!?

What did you get?? I really am enjoying Laneige lately 😉

Pink Prism is my fav of the lot 😉 Hehe!

    Happy Weekend
    *hugs*

  • the Muse

    Hiya Ping!!!!!!!!!!

Lucky you! I wish we had a counter here in the US! Sorry to hear the price raise. What’s it look like in comparison to Japan, Korea, and ‘pore?

    Curious!

    Happy Weekend love!

  • Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net

i can’t believe how close they are to msf’s! that is incredible! and i love the packaging.

  • Ping.

they don’t have this blusher! i just saw the brochure, the only have snow crystal blusher and another type *plainner looking* ehhe erm.. pretty expensive as its about rm70 for crystal blusher.. i’m not so sure about the comparison though..

  • Allysia-May

Alert! Absolute envy overdose!!! Anything that is better than MAC i have to try. How can i get these?! I wan’t the Laneige Gold and Pink Prism!.

From now on, i’ll only be visiting the MAC counter for my foundation and concealer until i find a better alternative. I’m already hooked on Dior for powders and eyeshadows. Plus there’s always Bourgois for drugstore equivalents.

As for their lipglosses, i’m so over them. I don’t know if it’s just me but they seem to be gettinh thicker. Anyways, Dior and Estee Lauder have won me over.

  • the Muse

Hey Mrs Lynne 🙂 How are you!?

I concur! They are so similar 😉 I adore the packaging 🙂

    *hugs*

  • the Muse

    Hiya Ping! *hugs*

I think it might have been part of the Holiday Collection but that’s still debatable 😉 I remember at the time I was more hyped about other collections and didn’t notice the releases for x-mas aside from the awesome shadow palettes.

rm70 isn’t too bad. It’s about $21usd and I paid more about rm90 or so!

I believe MSF is about $24.50…don’t quote me 😉 USD that is!

    *hugs*

  • the Muse

    hey allysia-May!

LOL! Facial Shop still has these in stock if you want ’em lovie!

    They’d look fab on you!

I wish I can ween myself off MAC but I still have a deep love and appreciation for it 😉

I love love love Dior. If you want awesome concealer try the Booster Pen by dior so good!!!!!!

Or the hydrating moisturizing concealer by Dior!

BP Makes such great stuff plus you have mini, we don’t sadly 🙁

The glosses I must admit are sticky and tacky at times sigh!

    *hugs*

    So. Friggin. Cool.
This would make me feel like a nightclubbin’, happenin’ sort of gal (which i’m not 🙂 every time I pulled it out of my purse. And the colours are beautiful.

    Me. Want. BAAD.

  • the Muse

    hiya a 🙂

LOL it does have that techno feel 🙂

They are really great. One of my fav products of the moment! I’m actually wearing one today hehe!

    Happy Monday!
