NeoCeuticals Problem Dry Skin Gel Review

Tis still a bit Wintery outside my window but Spring is slowly making it’s way across the board!

Come the Winter my skin suffers in a major way! Dry, itchy skin on my elbows, knees, and legs! Ugh I hate it so, so much!

I’ve tried so many moisturizers to relieve it but nothing really works! I find that my dry skin worsens since I shower twice daily and the hard water in New York rough houses my skin and makes it all chalky and yuck! Which also means I am moisturizing double duty!

I was lucky enough to test out some NeoCeutical Dry Skin Gel the past two weeks or so and I must say I’m quite liking it. It’s an interesting little product.

It’s basically a cooling gel that softens my rough, dry skin. The tube itself promises to hydrate and exfoliate. The exfloliate part confuses me but it does soften my skin beautifully!

The product is slightly sticky and there is a dry down period so don’t expect to slip right into your clothes after using this on say your legs! I found it takes a few minutes to fully sink in and go from wet to dry!

I’ve been using it for about 14 days now and I actually did notice that the skin my elbows is much smoother and less rough then when I use my normal moisturizer!

This retails for $24 USD for a 4oz tube. The price does slightly make me cringe however you only need a small amount so I see it lasting me for a good few months!

This is available now from Ulta.com or Neostrata.

If you suffer from the Dry Skin blues in the Winter (or anytime) this might be something you want to check out!

    Hallo, Muse, dear!
I was actually thinking about writing a post about body moisturizers strugggle, since I have the same problem with you, and I don’t think that water in Moscow is any better than water in New York :-)))
Have you by any chance had any experience with the Body Shop body butters? I was thinking about them… As for me, for now I’m using J&J baby oil :-)))

    hiya someone loving 🙂

It seems bigger cities definately have a prob all around 🙁

I was thinking of installing a water filter but it seems too costly and too much of a headache honestly.

I’ve tried the Body Shops Body Butters and they are lovely but my body craves even more moisture than what they provide. Especially in the winter 🙁

I must say that J&J is the cure all! Good for dry skin, under eye area, legs, removing makeup, etc..! I use it myself 😉 and swear by it!

I have purchased some great scrubs that definately help my skin remain flake free and smooth 🙂

I’ve had itchy, scaly arms and legs forever but an Aveeno body lotion in a big pump bottle (cheaper!) had cured me. It also seems to stay wet and goopy for a moment or so after application, but then it actually holds the moisture in (other lotions including a lot of well regarded ones, just sat greasy on my dry scaly skin – lovely!).

I’ll see if I can get them to sit still long enough hehehe 😉

Every winter I suffer from the same 🙁 My sister swears by aveeno!!!! This stays “wet” as well 😛

I don’t mind that much when I go to bed but when I am rushing in the AM it stinks!

But I’ll def try the aveeno it’s cheaper then this!

    w00t!

    Thanks for the rec lovie!

I so wish I could send you some warmer weather. My skin almost had a skin-attack (hehe, get it?) when I was in NYC last weekend. Still so chilly up there. This sounds like a pretty cool product. I suffer from dry skin too so this may be a fab investment for me. Have you tried Olay Complete? That is the truth!

    hey divine blackness 🙂

sorry ’bout my rather delayed reply. Been nutty to say the least this week!

It so is! Today it’s very cool 🙁 ugh! Soon I’ll be bitching about how hot it is lol!

I haven’t tried Olay Complete! Thanks for the rec! This is pretty damn good to be honest.

How’s your face? Dry as well? B/c I’m using an AWESOME product right now for my face! Will tell you ’bout it if you have dry skin on your face 😉

    It’s simply awesome!
