The Body Shop Summer Collection: Sun Kissed

subCatBan summerTrend makeup

Mmm the Body Shop always gets some of my money during the Summer. They introduce pretty nice collections.

Although I don’t always agree with the price tag on some cosmetics The Body Shop offers, I am on board with the interesting items they release most times!

I really enjoy the shadows they have released in past Summer Collections, blushes, and other odds and ends.

This year is no different from years prior in the fact that my curiosity is tickled to dash into the store to swatch my heart out with their new Sun Kissed Collection.

Call me an addict but I can’t help these urges that come over me!

This year they haven’t done any of the cool eyeshadow duos they normally have which is sad but they have a load of other items that have caught my eye.

Since I’m on some sort of kick since falling in love with Urban Decay Baked Bronzer I noticed The Body Shop’s Sun Luster Bronzer right away!

I’m loving the interesting peachy pink shade! How about you?

At $25 USD I’m wincing at the price a bit as this isn’t designer counter makeup but…I am curious to say the very least!

They also have three colors of Waterproof Lustre Liner. Doesn’t interest me in the least as I’m rubbish applying liquid liner but I will say the colors look nice enough! Again, the price makes me gasp aloud, $15.50 USD? Hmm maybe someone should remind the Body Shop folk that these prices are obscene!

Now these are making a guest starring appearance on my wish list this Summer:

Eye Lustre Pearls!

Mini pearls of metallic shimmer available in Silvery Blue, Green, and Pink! The Muse likey! $16.50 USD each.

I love stains and sheer yet glossy lip colors in the Summer and the Sheer Lip Lustre have caught my eye! Available in three shades in an elegant gold tube I’m saying these might cozy up to the Eye Lustre Pearls on my wish list!

Hmmm a Sun Lustre Brush……psst…we can be honest and say this probably sheds like a mother! Right? $22.50 USD? I can buy a MAC brush for that! Thanks but no thanks!

And finally Body and Leg Shine….hmmm Tarte might be slightly peeved that The Body Shop sorta duped their new stain!

Hmmmm…………

A nice collection of goodies if you’re a sun seeker and a bronze lover if not, chances are you’re not interested at all.

Count me intrigued. I’m going to hop over and have a swatch fest and tell you what I think. I’m a glutton for punishment so I imagine myself purchasing at least one item from this Collection!

Want it?

Love it?

Tell the Muse!

Yuss, I am tres impressed with their summer collection :) I ordered a couple of things online ( I agree they’re a bit pricey though! )
The eye lustre pearls in green/gold and their new tinted moisturiser. I’ll let you know if the pearls are worth having!
    :) take care x

Both the Eye Lustre Pearls, and the sheer lip lustres are wonderful. I love them and am using them frequently (I think I’ve even swatched a few over att Bjooti). And the Sun Lustre Brush is really not bad at all. It’s crazy soft and fabulous! TBS’s makeup line has had a fabulous facelift over these last few years, and the new slightly higher prices are totally just :)

Hi Izzy, how was your weekend?

I received a mailer from TBS S’pore about a preview for their cosmetics. Didn’t went down though.

The embossment(spelling?) on the Sun Luster Bronzer looks very girly. I like :) The peachy pink shade looks very wearable! :)

The eye liners reminds me of the X’mas collections. I’ll safely skip that. I’ve quite a few glitter liners from the X’mas collection.

The Eye Lustre Pearls looks interesting! It’s like a mini Guerlain Meterorites(spelling?).

I think I can safely skip the brush and lipstick as well.

A little dissapointed in this summer release. And TBS products are getting pricier these days! :(

Pardon me for the spelling errors. Bleary eyes now :’(

hi muse! i enjoy your blog! does the leg bronzer rub off on clothing? i’d hate to get it on something light and wear orangey streaks all day long!

Yeah, I saw the brush a week or two ago and thought it was cute…until I saw the price tag.

I’m still contemplating the leg shine (which I thought was a rip off of Michael Kors’ product).

    hello there chica :)

I really like their releases but I concur the price makes me wince. I mean I can get better quality and cheaper from MAC :P

Do come back and let us know ;) I’m eager to try out the pearls!

Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment ;)

    hiya Kat!

Ooo must have a lookee! I eagerly await the day Bjooti goes English :)

    hehe!

I must say the the line has seen some dramatic packaging and quality results in the last few years! I def agree with you there.

The price isn’t so hot on this side of the world in my humblest as I can get better quality for less so it does make me wince slightly but I def still want to try a few items out ;) Can’t help myself!

I’ve emailed you Kat ;) Hopefully you got it. I’m a bit slow with my reply, apologies lovie!

    hey mizz gracie.

It was absolute fab! The weather was gorgeous and most of mine was spent outdoors :) I also went to see SATC which ended up not as bad as I had originally predicted :)

    How was yours?

I like the bronzer decal as well very chic :)

The peachy pink color def looks wearable to me which is why I needs to try it ;) hehe!

The liners do remind me of the xmas collections and I can definately skip as I am crap with liquid liners!

I’ve hauled so many mac glitter liners I really don’t need to overindulge in gold hue liners!

Yay! They do like look mini meteorites!

The prices are obscene in my opinion. I can get much better quality!

Aww hope you snatched some sleep after this post hehe!

    hi there snb-the glamourista!

    Thank you kindly :)

I’m unsure as I haven’t tried either the Tarte or the TBS one as of yet. I think it might be safe to say this won’t be so long wearing on your legs and may rub off on your clothing as it is a waxy sort of stain so chances are some might rub off. I wouldn’t attempt it with say white shorts!

I actually have a spray on bronzer I am testing at the moment so that MIGHT work! Review to come soonish :)

Thanks for your comment and hope to chat with you again soon!

All the price tags on this stuff is ridiculous in my opinion.

Hi Musey, hmm..what’s SATC? So it’s getting warmer on your side huh? It’s been rather hot for the past 3 weeks or so. Luckily some passing showers these few days has made it somewhat more cooling! :)

TBS X’mas glitter liners are usually quite sheer hence I always use it on top of my regular liner. It really opens up my sleepy looking eyes! :) I adore them. The brush are very fine and user friendly for a klutz like me ;)

I suck at applying normal black liquid liners as well :( My hands are not very steady and the lines ends up very messy as well :( haha

    ‘ello mizz gracie!

    Sex and the City hehe!

It’s much warmer thankfully but a bit of rain here and there!

I like the Summer but couldn’t deal with it year round :P

You know VS does glitter liners now too. Very light and sheer plus a good slim brush for application and cheap too!

I suck at liquid liners too ;( I’m good with cake or pencil but liquid liner it’s ALL over my face, my cheeks, my eyes lol!

    Very messy indeed!

Tarte ripped off Michael Kors leg shine/bronzing stick, so I think it’s only fair that The Body Shop should be able to, too =)

Sephora also used to make one.

    I don’t remember the Sephora one :P

I must say I’m a tad bit weary of getting this all over myself and making a mess :P

    might have to avoid!

Hi! I’m from the Philippines and those eye lustre pearls that you want were on sale here a few months ago for less than 10USD! :) I bought one but found a hard time using them since I had to crush the pearls to get the exact pigmentation that I wanted.

I love your blog! :) It’s one of the sites that inspired me to start my own.
