Urban Decay Friends and Family Event started yesterday but I didn’t have a chance to blog it! Get 30% off your entire order using code FFH30!
Now is a great time to stock up on palettes, shadows, and more at a 30% savings! Yay! I’m going over to have a look in a few seconds but before I do I thought I’d review one of the Best of Urban Decay Gift Sets for you!
You might have guessed that the Muse loves to match so of course gift sets that contain an array of matching items are always appealing! The new Best of Urban Decay Baked Gift Set contains everything you need to create a sizzling hot Holiday eye look by combining Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Baked, Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner, Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Bourbon, and Urban Decay Primer Potion all for $32 USD (and just think at 30% off that would be $22 USD or so!).
Even though these sets were introduced for the Holiday the Muse feels like the Best of Urban Decay Baked Gift Set is ideal for the Fall as the color combination reminds me of falling leaves! Baked eyeshadow is a shimmering bronze shade that matches up perfectly with the Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Bourbon and topped with a bit of Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Baked you’ll be smoking!
To create my look below I used Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Baked all over my lid and crease, lined my lower waterline with Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Bourbon, and completed my look by lining my upper lash line with Urban decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Baked. Since I was busy being Baked I brushed some Urban Decay Baked Bronzer on my cheeks as well!
If you fancy a bit of a warmer feel to your Holiday looks you should definitely check out the Best of Urban Decay Baked Gift Set and at 30% off who could go wrong? The Muse adores it and thinks you will too! Muse Approved for purchase all the way!
I’m unsure why but the Givenchy Very Couture Palette has been reduced from $65 USD to $45 USD effective immediately. I was considering purchasing the palette during Sephora Friends and Family (which has been extended till today by the way! yay!) and this just seals the deal as the price is quite nice now!
If you’re wanting it best pick it up before it’s gone at this price! The Muse will be reviewing some of the Givenchy Holiday 2008 Collection shortly so stay tuned!
To celebrate the Muse’s latest contest to win a Harajuku Girls Solid Perfume Coffret she thought she’d do a week in review of each Harajuku Fragrance!
I’ve already reviewed these prior but that was by nose alone considering that I had only tried out ‘Lil Angel and reviewed the other based on scent cards! I’ve since gotten the chance to test this out by spraying, smelling, and testing them out on myself so I can give a better more detail review of each blend! Yay! Each Harajuku Girl fragrance is unique and interesting to say the least! I’m starting my review today with the Harajuku Girls Fragrance Music.
Always looking to make someone laugh, charismatic Music has no qualms telling it like it is! Stylin’ in a smocked sailor outfit and black lace-up boxing boots, Music marches to the beat of her own drum! Her scent is fruity floral with notes of pear, sweet pea, and sleek wood!
Music’s fruity base of pear dominates her fragrance but the combination of sweet pea creates a very special, unique floral blend that’s fun and lively! Although all five scents are something I savored and enjoyed I must say that I lean towards Music as topping my favorite list as she’s definitely different to say the least. Music manages to combine fun and sexy thanks to the slight woodsy vanilla note that comes out after dry down. The scent manages to last all day with 2-3 sprays which is pretty brilliant when taking into consideration these are EDT’s! Music should appeal to those who like a fresh, fruity, flirty blend.
The Muse likes this one because although it has touches of floral yet it still manages to remain sweet and the Muse is all about sweet blends! Music is a favorite for this Muse and says to give it a shot for yourself! It’s Muse Approved for purchase!

The Muse doesn’t drink. A majority of most alcoholic beverages kinda taste like nail polish remover to her so she avoids liquor like the plague plus the Muse drunk is always a rather silly sight and we all know the Muse is SO not silly! Seriously now! So indeed she does avoid alcohol like the plague and sticks to her drink of choice, tea.
What’s that? How do I know what nail polish remover tastes like anyway? Well duh! Obviously all cosmetic junkies know what it taste like! Stop asking dumb questions.
On the bright side the Muse does fancy an occasionally flute of bubbly and berries. Champagne and Strawberries were meant for each other.
You know last year the Muse happened to fall in love with Philosophy Bubbly Three in One Shower Gel and although it didn’t contain the berry it sure did bring the Bubbly! Sparkling, crisp, and beautiful were simply some of the things that were pure perfection about Philosophy Bubbly.
Philosophy decided to step up it’s game this year and created the next best thing to Bubbly….How about Philosophy Berry Bubbly! The Muse thinks nothing goes better than Strawberries and Champagne so how about Philosophy Berries and Bubbly…Mmmmmmmm sounds like a master plan to this Muse!
Although I love Philosophy Bubbly with a passion I must say that a little something extra special is contained inside Philosophy Berry Bubbly and it tops off an already great recipe and makes it pure perfection.
Philosophy Berry Bubbly starts with a fresh, sparkling, effervescent citrus base which tickles the nose. This is quickly followed up by the faint scent of sweet strawberry which combines beautifully with the sparkle of citrus to create a true to life Champagne and Strawberry scent that’s pure and fresh! Philosophy deserves a major award for creating a perfectly sparkling experience with Berry Bubbly!
Please don’t think that the scent is reminiscent of any blend of champagne and strawberry you’ve tried before because it’s completely different and unique! It’s has a certain sweetness with a full on citrus body that can simply be called sparkling! Philosophy managed to capture the “bubbly” effervescent of champagne and put it in a bottle!
Philosophy Berry Bubbly can be used in your shower, in your bath tub, or wash your hair with it! It’s three in one you see!
The Muse nabbed her bottle of Philosophy Berry Bubbly from QVC and believes as of now it’s exclusive to them however like last year I’m pretty sure you’ll see it pop up on Sephora, just renamed and repackaged!
If you can’t wait and absolutely need your dose of bubbly and berries head over to QVC and punch in Item Number A86879! This one is Muse Approved for you and for gifts! QVC has a special deal at the moment which allows you to purchase one Berry Bubbly for $18.24 USD and each additional bottle for $15.24 USD. I ordered 6 bottles…two for me and the rest for gifts as these are super nice for gift giving and the price can’t be beat! I highly suggest nabbing these before they run out and have a wait list!
Philosophy Berry Bubbly will be making a guest starring appearance under the Muse’s tree this year!
The Muse’s entourage of English friends have always tried to convert her to the glories of the chocolate orange but the Muse safely steers clear of anything that combines chocolate with fruit….yak…..no likey. Some things go together well but the Muse thinks chocolate and fruit are NOT a marriage most divine.
In the case of the glorious Orange Chocolate the Muse refuses to partake and believes that Terry is actually an alias for the devil because the only place an orange chocolate could come from would be hell.
All yur chocolate oranges belongz to me! *insert evil laugh here* Source
Even though the Muse hates Orange Chocolate she knew she must put away her keen dislike for the evil that be and test out the new Lush Chocolate Santa Bath Bomb. So the Muse struck up some Captain Jack and decided to climb into her bath tub!
No, not this kind either (although my bath tub is always welcome to the likes of this Captain Jack)
The Muse needed liquid courage to face a bath tub full of Chocolate Orange and since she doesn’t drink the only other option was vintage Billy.
Turns out Lush Chocolate Santa was a rather relaxing, calming experience and although eating chocolate oranges is off this Muse’s list she actually won’t mind purchasing a few Lush Chocolate Santas to fill her bath with! Although Chocolate Santa doesn’t have a very strong, lingering smell like many Lush Bath Bombs I still managed to enjoy my bath with him and recommend grabbing a few for stocking stuffers and of course to spoil yourself with!
I’m not going to go into great detail how a Bath Bomb works since I’ve done so before but just in case anyone doesn’t know here’s a quickie How To from the friendly folks at Lush:
Now as I mentioned Chocolate Santa doesn’t have a very strong smell which could account for why I liked him so much. He smells like a sparkling mimosa with tiny bits of chocolate thrown in and a faint, soft underlay of vanilla. He fizzes happily away as you bath, softening your water and skin while leaving your hair and body softly scented with a citrus chocolate blend that’s very pleasant.
Lush Chocolate Santa sizzling away happily in the Muse’s bath tub! (Apologies the lighting was really low in my bathroom when I recorded)
Lush Chocolate Santa is shaped, yes you guessed it, like that rolly polly, pink cheeked guy we all know and love, Santa!! Lush was really intricate about the details on this bomb as their Chocolate Santa has his famous suit, boots, belt, and bag of treats for good little Muses!
Lush Chocolate Santa is available for a very limited time so best snatch one up before he’s gone for good! I’m actually headed over to Lush UK right now to order 20 of these little guys to stash away in friends and family member’s stockings and of course a few more for myself as it turns out Lush Chocolate Santa isn’t evil like Terry’s Chocolate Orange! Lush Chocolate Santa is available now for $6.95 USD! Click to grab yours!
The economy is in a real slump right now and I think it’s safe to say many of us want to monitor our purchases very closely so indulging in costly makeup isn’t on our top to do list right now. Which is why the Avon Holiday Collection looks quite appealing at the moment as it offers a bit of sparkle, some shine, a buncha glitter, and a cost effective way to pull off a sparkling Holiday look for under $20 USD!

Avon Shimmer Swirls Face Illuminator is $7.99 USD and comes in two shades, Rose Whirl and Silver Swirl. Wear it alone or over foundation for an all over shimmering glow this Holiday Season!
To complete your look you’ll need to add a bit of sparkle and shimmer to your lashes! Snatch up some Avon Shimmer Tips Mascara for $4.99 USD and add that glint of gold or silver to lashes!

What’s this I hear and see? A new boxed blush from Benefit? Benefit Coralista!!
I’m all over it!
The Muse happened to be visiting Sephora’s Beauty and the Blog this morning and this snatched up her attention on the double! Beauty and the Blog is reporting this new coral colored blush from Benefit as a “candy color”!
Mmm the Muse likey alot!
I’m unsure when this will be releasing but expect a review as soon as the Muse can get her grubby, greedy little hands on it! I suspect they will hit us with this after the Holiday for the Spring Collection but we shall see!
Either way it looks divine and the Muse wants some thanks very much!
I’ve been using Softlips since…hmm forevers. The Muse and her sister have happily purchased Softlips for a very long time, years and years. I can remember Softlips Lip Balm being one of my very first makeup purchases so indeed it’s been a while!
Honestly aside from Rosebud Salve I haven’t met a better option for keeping my lips happy during the cold weather skin! I’ve always had one of these little guys tucked into my purse for quick touch ups on the go. They glide on incredibly well and offer a nice seal of protection for cold, bitter New York weather plus they taste sooooo good! And let’s not forget they have SPF 20!
Softlips have introduced two new Limited Edition Duo Packs that contain two full size Softlips Balms. The first package holds Vanilla and Mint flavored balms which are great to use alone or layer them on top of each other for a Vanilla Mint flavored pout! The second package contains my personal favorite Cherry! It also contains Sugar Cookie which you can combine with Cherry to create Cherry Sugar Cookies! Yum! The Muse gets really excited about the little things in life.
Many of you have written me emails asking I feature some budget friendly options for cosmetics, gifts, etc..and I think that these Softlips Duo Packs are ideal for budget stocking stuffers! Each pack costs around $3.50-$3.99 USD which isn’t too bad a deal at all! They make very cute gift toppers as well to tape to the top of a bigger gift or to stick in a Holiday gift bag!
Yo can learn more about Softlips by visiting them at www.softlips.com!
But the good news is today I have two Limited Edition Packages of Softlips to give away to readers within the US and abroad! Simply comment below and I’ll be choosing two random readers to get one of the two packets I have! The contest begins today and ends on Friday so Good Luck!

Next week I’m bringing you a Week in Review of the brand new Harajuku Girl Fragrances. I covered these before but I wanted to do an individual review of each perfume because I got an overwhelming amount of e-mails asking how these are, if they are worth purchasing, key notes in the blends, etc…etc…Rather then answer all those e-mails I thought I’d just post a review a day of each fragrance giving you further details about each one, what my favorites are, what they smell like, etc….
In honor of my Week in Review I’ll be doing a little contest here on Musings! I know how much you adore my quirky contests where I do my geeky trivia but I’m going to keep this one rather clean and simple!
You have two chances to win one of two Harajuku Girl Solid Perfume Coffrets I have available. The coffrets have all five of the scents available in one cute gift box so you can try each of them out for yourself! Cutes right?!
You have two chances to win one of these two sets by leaving a comment below and if you’re already a subscriber to my feed you’ll have a second chance to win the set! Which means if you aren’t already subscribed you’ll want to subscribe so you can have your second chance to win the sets! You can subscribe by entering your email below:
The contest begins today and it will end next week Friday! Sadly, I can only open the contest to US residents right now! Sorry about that but I will have more contests shortly that will be open to non-US residents
