I
recently did an FOTD for you using Givenchy Sari Glow Blush in Maharani Orange, Givenchy Precious Sari Glittering Eyeshadow in Maharani Gold, and Givenchy Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick in Maharani Henna and today I’ll be bringing you another look using some of the items from the Givenchy Spring Collection 2009.
Jump ahead to have a peek!
Since I’ve already done a warmer looking using some of the Givenchy Spring Collection, I thought a cooler order was in order. For the cooler look I used Givenchy Sari Glow Blush in Maharani Pink and Givenchy Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick in Maharani Rose. I was tempted to use Givenchy Precious Sari Glittering Eyeshadow in Maharani Silver but I thought it didn’t quite go so well with all the pink so I opted for a wash of color using a few MAC eye shadows in various pink shades.
The pink blush wasn’t as popping as I thought it would be and it came out as a basic pink shade on my cheeks, quite flattering really but nothing as bold as I originally though. I’m absolutely in deeper lust now after trying out the Maharani Rose lippie! It’s a stunning shade and quite lovely for Spring.
Here’s the basic look I created using the above listed items:

My quest for inexpensive beauty finds has led me to Avon Anew Rejuvenate Night Revitalizing Cream which has a near perfect rating on Make Up Alley and a really huge fan base on the Avon website.

If the MUA’ers like it that has to account for some of it’s creditability wouldn’t you agree?
At $32 USD for a 1.7oz jar I doubt you’ll find a cheaper night cream option, jump ahead and more about Avon Anew Rejuvenate Night Revitalizing Cream.
Avon Anew Rejuvenate Night Revitalizing Cream Review is a lightweight gel-like cream that works while you sleep to rejuvenate sleep, hence the name eh?
The price can’t be beat as this not only renews and rejuvenates but also helps to visibly shrink pores and erase fine lines from the face. Gets better and better doesn’t it? The formula is a gel cream which absorbs easily into the skin with absolutely no effort, my dry skin seems to like it alot as it’s cooling and glides into my skin beautifully. It carries a fresh scent which is somewhat floral, almost rose-like, very pleasant.

I honestly can’t speak for reducing pores and fine lines but the moisturizer did work well at renewing my tired, dry skin so I woke up with soft, silky skin minus dry, flaky patches that are customary in the Winter for me. Normally I use Philosophy When Hope is Night Enough for my night cream but I quickly ditched it in place of Lush Skin Nanny for the anti-aging benefits. A few months ago I discovered Steamcream (review coming soon…) which became my night cream but honestly speaking Steamcream has absolutely no anti-aging benefits to speak of. Taking into consideration all of this I’ve decided to make Avon Anew Rejuvenate Night Revitalizing Cream my nightly cream until the jar is finished as I hope to report back soon that I see as many visible improvements as reviews have claimed on both MUA and the Avon site. So far I’m quite pleased that it works well with my dry skin and absorbs quickly, the benefits of anti-aging ingredients and promises of renewed skin are added bonuses.

All in all if you’re looking for a budget friendly night cream with quite a few bells and whistles I do think checking out Avon Anew Rejuvenate Night Revitalizing Cream could be worth checking into!

You know my mum thinks that the solution to life, the universe, and everything is bottled up in a jar of Vicks Vaporub.
For serious.
Anything that ails me can normally be solved by rubbing myself with Vicks Vaporub. I dunno, that’s what my mother told me.
If I have a cold rub some Vicks on my chest, if I’m coughing rub some Vicks on my chest, if I have a sore throat rub some Vicks on my chest….what can I say my mum is either a nutter or kickin’ it old skool. So I do admit that she has a point here. I do feel heaps better after a rub down with Vicks Vaporub but mmmm walking out of my house and going to my office with a bunch of greasy petroleum under my nose and on my chest is a tad bit on the strange side.
Have no fear! I have just the solution for fighting off the flu and cold season with an easy to use product that’s in the Muse’s purse!
Jump ahead to check it out!
Guest starring in the Muse’s Purse today is Body Works Cold & Flu Therapy Instant Aromatherapy Roll On!
w00t! Portable cold control!
What is it?
It’s an all-natural roll on that contains a blend of eucalyptus, basil, spearmint, wild mint, lavender, cedar left, and essential oils. Shake up the bottle a bit and roll onto the base of your throat and around the chest are, now breath deeply to combat the unwanted effects of your stuffy noise brought on by the cold, wintery weather!
Don’t you love this? I totally dig having a portable roll on for clearing up my stuffy head and nose. I can’t concentrate when I’m constantly sniffling and this does the trick at clearing up my stuffy nose and allowing me to breath easy again! Pure perfection in a little roll on bottle!
Let’s face it, carrying around a jar of Vicks Vaporub is not an option so get the next best, budget friendly option (this is only $5 bucks) to tote around in your purse with you! Bath and Body Works Cold & Flu Therapy Instant Aromatherapy Roll On is in the Muse’s purse and remains there until the warm weather sets in!

The Muse is an official member of the Anglophile support group, actually she’s the president. I’m quite British (even though in my next life I plan on being Asian) so of course I love all good things Brit-related.
Being all British-like I have a special fondness for the Soap & Glory Collection available at Boots so of course I’m all excited about the release of the Soap & Glory Skincare line up!
Soap & Glory has already established itself in the bath and body world with it’s quirky collection of fun, fabulous scrubs, body washes, lotions, and potions. Soap & Glory has even breached some of the cosmetic world with interesting little products deemed with funky names like “mother pucker” (gotta love that one right?). Now Soap & Glory branches out and pushes the line to add a skincare collection to it’s fantastic collection!
Count me intrigued!

I imagine I’ll be much more British if I start using Soap & Glory Skincare dontcha think?
Jump ahead to read more!
Although we are privy to Soap & Glory in the states courtesy of our friends at Target, don’t expect to see Soap & Glory Skincare pop up in store anytime soon. One can hope it’ll arrive on our shores soon but the Muse suspects it’ll be months before it pops up around here!
The good news, if you happen to be British (Lucky you!), you can pop over to Boots and start spending your hard earned cash on the entire line. Soap & Glory is typical buy two get one free and this sale is extended to some of the skincare line up so that’s always a nice little extra when purchasing!
Soap & Glory Glow Job Daily Radiance Moisture Lotion is an everyday moisturizier with bronzeburst beads built in. What the hell are Bronzeburst beads? Whoa sounds awesome! Maybe that means it acts as a tinted moisturizer for skin? I wants to try this!
Soap & Glory Dr Spot Invisible Spot Fighting Gel will get your face back into the game with clog clearing salicylic and lactic acids!

Soap & Glory Clean Mary Cleansing Milk is a creamy cleanser for whisking away makeup!
Soap & Glory Catch a Wrinkle in Time Age Avoiding Day Moisturizer will erase all those pesky little lines and make you look fabulous again!
Soap & Glory A Change of Face Skincare Starter Kit has a little bit of this and a little bit of that so you can test the waters before diving into the entire line!

Soap & Glory The Greatest Scrub of All Self-Activating Facial Smoother Exfoliator will refine all those pesky little pores!
Soap & Glory The Greatest Scrub of All Self-Activating Facial Smoother Exfoliator will scrub it all away and polish skin to perfection!
Soap & Glory Supereyes, Supereyes Moisturising Eye Gel contains a kick of caffeine to depuff eyes while reducing fine lines.

Grab some
Soap & Glory Off Your Face Cleansing Cloths when you want it all off in a hurry!

Soap & Glory Make Yourself Youthful Super Rejuvenating Face Serum will rejuvenate that tired face and make it glow!
Soap and Glory Mighty Mouth Lipcare & Plumping Kit has it all to plump that pout up and bring sexy back!

As you can see the line up is quite extensive which really pleases me to no end as the economy is under such distress lately that variety in stores is disappearing quickly so it’s nice to see that Soap & Glory has taken the effort to extend it’s line and introduce something new for us all to enjoy!
I’ll be picking up a few pieces from the line myself so I’ll have a review up shortly about them. The exchange rate is currently quite good on sterling and prices are ranging from $6-$17 USD with the gift set topping at around $28 USD. As you can sterling is converting considerably better and the prices aren’t much different (or even cheaper in some cases) from what you’d pay here in the US for the Soap & Glory line but of course airmail costs factor in as well.
As I mentioned Soap & Glory Skincare isn’t currently available yet stateside but hopefully we’ll see it soon! For now if you’d like the collection visit your local Boots or www.boots.com if you’re a UK residence. If you happen to live outside the UK, as the Muse does, you’ll have to find a friendly Brit to do your purchasing for you!
Any Brits try this collection yet?

The Muse seems to function on a few hours of sleep lately. Her schedule is so jammed packed full of this, that, and the other thing. No sleep equals a very tired looking Muse.
Being tired and growing older is NOT a pretty thing. I seriously need 8 hours to look fresh and pretty as a daisy. Failure to get my 8 hours of sleep results in puffy, dark circle ridden eyes. It also happens to make the fine lines under my eyes quite prominent and scary.
Since 8 hour sleep seems like a luxury lately I do the next best thing and reach for a handy, dandy concealer to whisk away all my under eye baggage!
Of course, I’ve been on my adventure for the best concealer around for a while now! Today I’m adding Susan Posnick ColorCorrect Pencil to my line up for making me look pretty as picture.
With a rating of 4.3 on MUA you really don’t have to take the Muse’s word on the power of Susan Posnick Colorcorrect. But you will anyway right? Your Muse loves you!

Pencil concealers aren’t necessarily my bag but this one happens to make big promises and keeps them.
Susan Posnick ColorCorrect is a dual ended brightening and correcting pencil for concealing all those pesky little problems we run into daily such as dark circles, puffiness, fine lines, redness, etc….

Use the lighter end of the pencil for sweeping away fine lines and tired eyes…phew I know I need it (wakey wakey eggs and bakey!). Add a few hours worth of sleep onto eyes with a quick sweep of the moisturizing creamy formula! If you so inclined you can also highlight cheeks and brow bones with the lighter side.

Use the darker end to neutralize and hide away discoloration, dullness, imperfections, and redness!

The Muse likey two products in one!
The formula is nice and creamy so it glides on, blends easily, and leaves behind a flawless finish. I took note that the product “blurs” fine lines and gives an airbrushed effect, likey alot! I think the pencil is ideal for toting around for quickie touch ups on the fly as it works great at freshening up your entire face. I was actually quite comfortable using the dark end on the sides of my nose and blending outward to freshen up my foundation. Why not right? It’s creamy enough to work well at giving your face a much needed wake up call in the late afternoon when all your make up probably melted away under the stress of work! The formula is pigmented enough to hide away light to medium dark circles and works plenty well at erasing baggage woes.
Who needs it?
- Anyone that wants a lightweight product to travel with for quickie touch ups on the go!
- Older women who crave a brighter, fresher look to their under eyes!
- Anyone who sports serious baggage and needs a wake up call.
- Those with a dry under eye area that crave a moisturizing concealer.
- Anyone who’s not willing to dish out $40 for a YSL Touche Eclat Pen (this is nearly half the price!)
All in all I think the product made some great promises and kept them all. I liked it alot and it’s making a guest starring appearance in my purse from now on. I’ll definitely consider a repurchase when I run low. One minor compliant is it didn’t come with a sharpener…I dunno why but I always misplace ALL my pencil sharpeners so I like when pencils come with one! Aside from my one minor rant I think it’s well worth checking out as it works fabulously well.

If you didn’t grab Sugar Cosmetics Sweet Cheeks Baked Blush the first time around you’re seriously missing something!

And if you didn’t grab it when Sephora axed it from the line, again, you were seriously missing something!
But have no fear…you can haz it now for $5 bucks thanks to your kind old Muse!
Click ahead to read who has it for $5 USD!
Sugar Cosmetics has discounted many of it’s items on it’s main website and the Sweet Cheeks Baked Blush happens to be $5 USD at the moment.
This leads me to believe the line is gone for good or they might introduce a new line up….but let’s be honest with ourselves here, with the economy in a mess I think it’s safe to say Sugar Cosmetics is taking a long trip and not coming back anytime soon!
Kisses and Hugs Sugar!
We sure did love you while you were around! So long and thanks for all the sales! Don’t forget to pack your towel!
