The Muse loves obscure, unique, and interesting brands! She always loves exploring cracks and corners where other makeup addicts fell to look and coming across exciting new items that she’s never heard of! She’s a beauty adventure on the path to fortune and glory. By the way I don’t even know what that means but when Indiana Jones said it, it sounded important and stuff! Shrug!
Behold, new and exciting makeup! On my quest for fortune and glory I located one of thee cutest brands ever. Girlish, unique, and pretty are just a few words to describe the Dianne Brill Cosmetic Collection!
If you’re bored with the same old hum drum counter cosmetics take a voyage through fortune and glory and discover some seriously awesome finds from Dianne Brill Cosmetics. I’ve been busy playing around with some of her cosmetics lately and all I can say is that I’m extremely pleased so over the next few days you’ll be hearing alot of my ravings about the brand and the items they offer.
When I first seen the Dianne Brill Lip Gloss I was left wondering was it a gloss or a chocolate bon bon? Housed in a peach box with a flip top lid this sweet gloss was begging to be used. Flipping open the lid of the box you’ll be presented with a cute pot of gloss that lays on a cute pastry cup wrapper! Lift it out and you’ll see that the pastry cup invites you to Slip It On! Indeed, the Muse was eager to slip it on at this point.
The packaging and presentation simply screams at my girlish side and I couldn’t help but feel excitement at all that cute packaging. The gloss pot itself is a heavy plastic with a silver top and Dianne Brill’s cute emblem on top. Packaged with a little lip brush you’ll be busy getting your pout nice and glossy in seconds of opening the box!
I tried two of the twenty three shade selections and both were richly pigmented so lip stain or lipstick are completely optional before use. If you like your glosses slippery smooth with plenty of stick and tack this be for you. The gloss lasts all day as the formula must be bullet proof or something of the sort. Aside from MAC Lipglass I haven’t run across a gloss that had such a long wear time. The gloss is moisturizing, smooth, and creamy. It applies extremely well and stays put.
The shades I tried were Peekaboo Nightie and Feather Boa. Peekaboo Nightie is a rich dark pink with touches of golden shimmer where as Feather Boa is a Paler Pink, almost light peach in color, with multi-colored sparkles. The glosses had two separate flavors which leads me to wonder if every shade tastes different in the collection!? How fun if that’s the case. Peekaboo Nightie is a sweet taste which I can’t really put a name to and Feather Boa had more of a citrus taste to it. Both shades were very flattering on my lips but I was loving Peekaboo Nightie best as it gave me that really rich pink pout that I favor!
The formula is loaded with 20% vitamins, antioxidants, and humectants for a healthy and gorgeous pout. The gloss manages to pout my lips up and make them look fuller which was a rather nice effect.
Between the variety, the great formula, and the sweet, girlish packaging I’m unsure what thrills me more about Dianne Brill Lip Gloss! These are totally a Muse Approved for purchase and I highly recommend trying at least one out. The Muse promises soon after you’ll be hooked like her.
Truly an interesting and unique beauty find!
Thanks Dianne, the Muse hearts you.

The Muse was busy thinking about Urban Decay Cream Eye Shadows recently. Remember when she had mentioned that Urban Decay Cream Eye Shadows aren’t such a new item?
As I recall it these were around a good deal ago. Same packaging, same creamy texture, and a few of the same colors too I think! Of course, I didn’t mind a rerun as they turned out damn well this second time around. But I couldn’t help but wonder what exactly was different about these new shadows, if anything?!
Jump ahead to finally hear the mystery solved!
I remember having an Urban Decay Cream Eye Shadow in Midnight Cowboy many moons ago and another shade the name of which escapes me at the moment and of course when they re-released these I couldn’t help but wonder had anything changed? I also realized that MANY of you were wondering the same thing as I’ve gotten dozens of emails asking me, “Please Muse what’s the difference between this version and the old version?”.
Turns out I’ve finally solved the mystery! The new version of these shadows have “silicone technology”. Clever right? Who knows what the hell that is….I had to do a little homework and from what I understand the shadows do indeed have a brand new formula that has a special silicone texture which lets you blend well before it stays put. Another words these shadows stay “wet” and “creamy” a heck of alot longer than normal cream shadows so it gives you plenty of time to blend it up before it dries down.
This makes perfect sense as the texture is indeed an interesting loosely packed cream formula which doesn’t dry down right away. I both love and hate this because 1. it does make it easier to blend and 2. it kinda makes it a little bit difficult too! It’s all about packing on the right amount of color so you aren’t left with a streaky mess!
That’s the mystery solved in case you were wondering what it is that was different about this release and the past release.

For your trippy pleasure, MAC Hello Kitty Collection video:
Skip ahead to hear my thoughts on it!
I swear I wish I had a tab of acid I could slap back because that would seriously give me the full on experience of watching the MAC Hello Kitty video.
It’s trippy enough mind you but acid would really give it a certain edge dontcha think? Didn’t those dudes in the big Hello Kitty heads remind you of the Pyramid Heads from Silent Hill? Shudder! For a second there I was thinking things were going to get sexual as they looked ready to rip that blond chick’s clothes off. Omg when did Hello Kitty become so scary?
That’s some seriously trippy stuff even without the acid.

Scares me Muse!!!!!
Ok, enquiring minds want to know. Who tried the new Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eye Shadows?
I just got these on Monday and can I say I lurve them with a deep passion. I don’t want to give too much away about them less I ruin my full review but boy am I in love.
All the shimmer, sparkle, and glitter haters should take note and rejoice as these are pure perfection for a very subtle, sophisticated shimmer. And as for those who think they might be a little too old for sparkle? Think again! These create a tiny touch of sparkle that instantly lights up the eyes and casts a beautiful glow onto your lids.
The Muse is smitten at the moment with Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eye Shadows.
Spill it, Who’s tried ‘em?

My review is coming soon!
Etude House has updated it’s Korean portal (yes, there happens to be an Etude House US Portal too now!) with a brand new color story entitled Etude House VIP Girl.
I was just discussing with you yesterday how Sephora has opted for an interesting neon look
this year and here we have Etude House doing pretty much the same with bold, bright colors that are sure to get fans in a colorful mood for Spring!
I can honestly say that nothing truly calls to me with this particularly collection. I took note that this is a rather interesting collection for Etude House as normally I associate the line with “sweet” and “kawaii” however this is a bit more…I dunno….wild for lack of a better word.
As with all Etude House campaigns this includes color selections for a sweet or a bold look or in this case a “Hot Girl Style” or a “You Say Pink Style”. I think it’s safe to say that the “You Say Pink Style” is the more subdued look of the two.
The collection places heavy emphasis on the new lipstick shades which are all quite loud and outrageous. Hmmm how very un-Etude House like! Four new shades are available of the lipstick.
Also available is a lipstick base quite which is like what I had purchased last year with the Etude House Peach Spring Collection. This is used to mute out lips and intensify the color of your lipstick.
A liquid eyeliner is also up for grabs. Interesting as I believe this is my first time seeing a liquid liner available from Etude House.
Two new shades of gloss in “VIP” packaging are also released.
Four shades of eyeshadow which have captured my attention. These appear to have a base shadow and a liner shade smack in the center. The colors are somewhat boring but I like the looks of them regardless.
A new mascara is also being released which is something I can safely skip as I’ve never had much love for Etude House mascaras anyway.
And finally 5 shades of a new nail varnish! I’m not much of a nail girl but my friend Michelle is so I’ll be picking these up as a little gift for her as I screwed up an order of nail polishes from Japan on her a few months ago and these would really have her hyped I think plus I think she’d adore blogging them or at least I hope she would.
All in all the collection looks quite nice but I’m not feeling any great love for it…I honestly wish they’d have released some sort of new primer or a more fresher, sweeter look for Spring like last year’s release. This is quite fitting with the theme of things at the moment but I’m just more for a lighter, fresher look for Spring.
I thought it was quite interesting that the mascara was priced at 9,500 KRM at the moment….is it me or is that a bit of a price jack? Will have to do my homework but I thought the mascara was cheaper. On a side note Won is converting ridiculously awesome to USD at the moment so do take full advantage if you have friends, family, or easy access to Korean cosmetics, skincare, etc….
