There is something so terribly brilliant about a perfume that comes housed in a cigar box….
The Muse adores uniquely glamorous beauty finds and the Dianne Brill Ea de Parfum successfully gives glamour a new name…oh and it comes housed in a cigar box….bloody brilliant!
Dianne Brill Eau de Parfum is the Muse’s newest signature scent. Decadent, wicked, and glam all come to mind when I spray myself with this incredible perfume.
Housed in a keepsake cigar box with faux Cuban-seal, the packaging alone should steal your heart and make you think of the treasures that lays within. Opening the box you’re presented with a uniquely shaped bottle reminiscent of feminine curves, holding a peach liqueur colored parfum.
Explaining what Dianne Brill Eau de Parfum smells like will prove difficult but the Muse is always up for a challenge. Considering that the perfume will react strongly with your body chemistry and temperature chances are you’ll experience several scents throughout the day. This normally starts out smoky on my skin and deepens into a warm spiciness with hints of smoke, clove, wood, and musk. As it dries down the spice remains but mellows out and creates a certain sweetness that slowly takes over the fragrance and creates a hazy smoky spice as your body temperature rises through the day. It’s a tad masculine but the feminine side dominates to create an irresistible sexy scent that has an air of playfulness.
The scent’s glamorous side of the blend reminds me of Bettie Page, Dita Von Teese, or some long forgotten pin up girl. It also manages to evoke the smell of a smoky burlesque club with notes of cigar smoke and hints of expensive perfume.
It’s truly unique and for lack of a better word, gorgeous. I was very deeply impressed and moved by the blend. It wears extremely well and makes you feel sexy and seductive. The throw is wonderful and the linger goes on for ages. The scent will last all day as it obviously contains a healthy dose of perfume oil. One or two sprays will get you through the day and into the evening without a hiccup in between.
At $96 USD it’s not cheap but it’s price tag is well worth it as it’s simply beautiful. The packaging is charming and sophisticated and the scent is stunning.
Truly a keeper.
If you like unique blends that you can call your own and will have people asking, “What ever are you wearing!?” then Dianne Brill Eau de Parfume is for you. This easily replaces my love of Agent Provocateur, move over Mama has a new best friend! If you’re a fan and lover of the Agent Provocateur perfume line this is just as incredible maybe even more so!
The Muse likey. Alot! This one comes with my highest approval for purchase. You must try it for yourself.

Shills Perfect Brightening Primer promises the world. Prime, Protect, correct, and refresh tiredness all in one step plus anti-aging ingredients too! Whoa.
That’s alot of talk….does it work?
Jump ahead to find out!
I’ve known love and I’m pretty sure that love is Shills Perfect Brightening Primer. Possibly the best primer I’ve run across in a very long time with darling packaging, a sweet price tag, and a pretty scent, this primer sure does please a Muse.
What it promises:
It claims that it will prime skin creating a perfection canvas for foundation application. It also promises to protect with anti-aging ingredients and also promises to correct by evening out and whitening skin tone. And finally it promises to refresh my tired skin!
Actually it seems to successfully do just about everything it promises.
What it does:
I don’t have super large pores as you may may already know from past primer reviews but I think I can say that Shills Perfect Brightening Primer is thick enough to do a fairly good job of filling pores and creating a nice smooth surface for your foundation. The formula is thick and creamy but manages to absorb easily into the skin. It’s a very pale pink shade that smells floral and fresh, almost rose-like. After moisturizing a tiny dab of this preps my skin beautifully and allows my foundation to smooth on easier. The product does whiten ever so slightly but nothing ghastly or unnatural just a hint of brightness that relieves tired, dull skin and breathes new life into it. My foundation lasts an extra 2-3 hours after use which is surprising considering this isn’t a silicon base.
I can’t decide what I loved best about this but some things I adored were the beautiful smell, the way it made my skin look bright and less dull, the great way it smooths on and offers extra moisture and eases my foundation on. I can’t speak for the anti-aging elements but hey all the better if it does protect my skin against aging.
The foundation comes in a cute pink squeeze bottle with a little faux diamond tacked onto to the top. It’s sadly not a lot of product inside the tube but since you only need a little it should last you quite a while.
I paid retail for this which was $239TWD, I’ve seen it on E-bay for nearly triple it’s retail price which makes me wince in agony. I do think it’s worth at least $15 USD but I really hate that it’s been jacked up so badly. It’s well worth trying out and it’s Muse Approved for purchase by yours truly!
Who might like it?
- Anyone who needs a thick primer to fill in pores
- Those who want their foundation to last longer
- Anyone who’s skin needs a little pick me up to go from dull to pretty
Overall, Shills Perfect Brightening Primer definately promises a whole lot of everything and quite successfully delivers it all. I really liked this one and think it’s worth tracking down for yourself.

Feeling the Summer vibe?
Tell the Muse!
Excel has updated it’s catalog with a new base makeup for Spring 2009!
Is it me or did Excel grow up suddenly? It’s now featured as an elegant brand where before I got more of a cheap vibe from it. Hmm maybe it’s just me!
Two new items are featured for the base makeup line up which are a pressed powder and a concealer. The pressed powder contains SPF 32 which is a rather nice number for powder. The items are 1,600 and 2,200 yen respectively with refills for the compact at a nice price of 1,500 yen. Although these current sums convert like absolute rubbish to USD the actually beauty budget would being able to purchase in yen
I doubt I’ll indulge as I’m really concealer’ed out at this point (way too many concealer reviews from this Muse lately!) and I’m still mourning Raycious to indulge in any new Japanese powders but it does look like a nice line up of items.
As we near the end of the month and start in on March I’m sure we’ll see more and more Japanese brands that will begin updating their base makeup line. I look forward to seeing what Lunasol and a few other brands have in store for us.
