Maybelline Lash Stiletto Review and Giveaway

You know how much a snob your Muse is when it comes to US drugstore cosmetics right? So when I met up with Maybelline Lash Stiletto a few days ago I wasn’t expecting too much but boy was I proven wrong!

Jump ahead to feel the love!

Ranging in a price of $7.99 USD to $9.99 USD I wasn’t expecting too much from Maybelline Lash Stiletto, after all I never expect much from anything that sprouts a price tag like that from my local drugstore. Most run ins I have with drugstore mascara is using a tube as a basketball as I toss it into the trash can but obviously, on rare occasions, a Muse can be proven wrong about a product or two purchased outside of a high end counter.

Anything that promises thee ultimate in length for my lashes is way too good to be true. But ado tis true…..Maybelline Lash Stiletto promises length and provides it without question.

First off if you’re not careful during application you will end up with badly separate eye lashes and that scary spider web look, not cool. But with proper prepping with your lash curler and a sure grip on your wand you’ll be able to curl lashes upwards and out while gripping each lash and lengthening it by at least 5 times it’s normal size. The best way to apply is with a slight zig zag motion as it allows the brush to grip lashes and pull them upwards. The effect is extremely long lashes! Keep in mind that the mascara promises simply length and that’s all it gives. You’re not going to get fatter, plumper lashes with this, you’ll simply get amazing length with it.

The applicator is a thin brush with bristles. I know, gasp, shock, amazing right? A mascara with a brush applicator, not a plastic one! Bless be! The applicator is a bit on the sharp side so if you’re clumsy with mascara application do be careful with this. I think the end results are produced by the very thin, straight brush applicator as the formula isn’t anything special that I noticed. I do think that the thin applicator allows you to catch all your lashes and has an interesting effect of gripping lashes to pull them forward.

The formula isn’t waterproof and easily washes away with warm water and simple soap however it has the ability to last quite long minus smudging or flaking. I’m not a fan of non waterproof mascara but this is quite long wearing so I don’t mind in the least. The formula is light enough not to weight lashes done so it keeps curl fairly well.

All in all I think it’s a rather fabulous drugstore find and a great beauty on a budget purchase. It promises length and delivers! If you have small stubbier lashes it should work well at pulling them outwards. I’m unsure about recommending it for Asian eyes though as the applicator is such a straight edge that I think it would make for a bit of a difficult apply using it but for the price it’s well worth trying to see!

Overall, must eat my words here, it’s a love. Maybelline Lash Stiletto is Muse Approved for purchase! The Muse loves it but don’t take her word for it. She wants you to try it out for yourself to see what you think.

She has two Maybelline Lash Stiletto to giveaway! The giveaway begins today and ends next Monday. You have two chances to win. One is by following me on Twitter and the second way to win would be to subscribe to my feed.

If you already do this you don’t have to do anything, you’ll be automatically entered to win! International readers can of course join in for win as well!

Australia gets massively screwed over. Stupid GST. I see this for about $20 in chemists here. D: Still might test it out after I’ve given Kiss Me Heroine Make Long & Curl Mascara a go~

I got it for $18.90 in Singapore, $14.60 USD ): But I did like it when I tried the tester so hopefully it’s a good investment. Been using Kiss Me and Fasio for a while, change is good! Not really into Fasio’s plastic applicator wand.
