Musings of the Day: Returns!

FloridaSweety is back with a brand new video about the best way to return items at a store! I posted one of her videos previously and it got a great response as I think everyone enjoyed her as much as I did. She’s always a great inspiration to get a good conversation flowing so this morning’s Musings is all about returns!

So how do you feel about returning makeup? Do you return it or just give it to friends if you can’t use it?

The Muse isn’t as assertive as FloridaSweety sadly so most times anything I hate ends up in the bottom of my closet in the beauty graveyard. I’m also really bad with receipts and keeping them, I throw them to the bottom of my purse and end up losing them etc….Sometimes I feel comfortable returning at Sephora but most times I don’t as everyone is terribly snotty about returns. Did you every notice what a hissy fit people have at counters and Sephora when you have to do a return? Even with a receipt they get all evil and snotty! Or is that me? This is one reason I absolutely adore shopping on Sephora’s website as it’s free return postage back and no one questions you about what was wrong with the product or gives you an attitude problem about returning it.

I really never could understand why employees get so upset about returns. It’s always a rather big deal whenever I return something and five different people have to come over and look at the item, the receipt, etc….

How about you?

Are you a “return queen”?

Do you avoid returning items?

Tell the Muse!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

hi zangy good for you. I personally try not to abuse the power of returns 🙂 Sephora recently changed their return policy and I suspect it was b/c people were abusing it a bit but of course on occasion returns are def NOT a bad thing 😀

btw, i returned a moisturizer that they labeled $12 because i decided to get the full kit that they were selling for $19. what i noticed before i decided to get the full kit was that while i was at the store, the sign said $12, but i was charged $13.50!! for shame!!

when i returned it they sales lady didn’t even give me the $1 refund i should have gotten from the $13.50 to go towards the $19 purchase!! she was very rude about it. granted it’s only a one dollar refund, but they should charge what is listed on their fricking signs!!
