Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer Review

Damnit all I hate to be the bearer of bad news sigh! I have to break it to you but Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer isn’t going to cover up any tattoos you might have and it’s kinda sorta over priced.

But!

It’s really good.

Promise.

Kat+Von+Tattoo+Concealer+13

Kat+Von+Tattoo+Concealer+14

Kat+Von+Tattoo+Concealer+15

Got lots and lots to conceal? Dark circles? Puffiness? Fine lines? Full blow wrinkles? A pimple or two? Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer has you covered, literally.

If it’s heavy duty you seek, heavy duty you’ll get with this brand new concealer from tattoo artist Kat Von D. This creamy concealer promises to become your secret weapon at concealing it all including tattoos….ok let’s not get too crazy now Kat…this is SO not going to hide tattoos. It’s pigmented that’s for damn sure but NOT that pigmented. Paraben-free and ready to service your problem areas this one is well worth laying down $25 USD for.

I liked it. Alot.

First of all major prepping is required as the formula is very creamy but it does dry down to a matte finish would could age eyes and cause more dryness in an already dry area. In my case, my under eye area is like the Sahara Desert so I do have to be careful with this. However, with proper prepping and priming you’ll happily be able to blend away imperfections under your eyes and virtually cover everything up with fantastic results for a smooth, flawless finish. This could become HG material for me.

The coverage is comparable to nothing else I own and is on par with theatrical makeup such as items from Ben Nye or Kryolan. It’s heavily pigmented so if you’re suffering from heavy dark circles this will instantly become your new best friend. I don’t have terrible dark circles but I do have tired eyes in the morning and puffiness which I seek to conceal for a fresher more awake look and this does that in aces and spades.

Kat+Von+Tattoo+Concealer+7

Kat+Von+Tattoo+Concealer+11

The product blends fairly well but it does feel rather dry on and has the potential to crease and cake so as I mentioned prep, prep, prep prior to use. It’ll settle into fine lines so use a tiny bit as that’s all you really need considering the pigmentation on the product. A little goes a long way and too much will just cake, crease, and settle into fine lines.

Price tag…hmmmmm $25 bucks…that’s alot of money. I know how cheap of me right? But Make Up For Ever Lift Concealer is $22 USD….and this is $25 USD…kinda costly dontcha think? But in it’s defense I will say it’s worth it.

If you thought that Make Up For Ever Lift Concealer wasn’t dense enough and had a watery formula you may very well adore Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer as the formula is a good deal creamier and heavier but it does have the potential to look unnatural so again I’ll remind you a little goes a long way.

I’m Muse Approving this for purchase simply because it does hide major baggage. If you’re looking for a seriously pigmented concealer that will cover it ALL up I highly suggest snagging one of these. I really liked it and I’ll definitely pick up another when I’ve run through this tube.

Missha Beauty Sketch

missha+beauty+beauty+sketch+spring+2009

Another slightly medicore Spring release from Korea with Missha Beauty Sketch. I’m not feeling the love for Korea Spring Collection releases this year. First Etude House VIP Girl and now Missha Beauty Sketch fail to hold my attention.

Missha+Beauty+Sketch+100

Hohum!

Although it contains plenty of Spring friendly colors I’m not particularly interested in anything from the Beauty Sketch Collection. The collection consists of a slew of new nail polishes and focuses special attention on new duo eye shadows in a slew of color selections entitled The Style Silky Shadow Duo.

Also releasing is Missha Style Eyeprime Boomer. Quite like Benefit Lemon Aid this guy is and at a nice budget friendly price of 4,200 won! May want to give this one a whirl.

Missha+Beauty+Sketch+8

All in all it looks like a mighty fine release and the price set of 4,200 won is incredibly cheap especially how won is converting to USD at the moment but nothing calls out to me and I don’t feeling particularly compelled to haul any of it aside from the primer maybe.

Stash Spotlight: Jill Stuart Blush

jill+stuart+blush+100

There’s something so very pretty about Jill Stuart Blushes. I’m not a big fan of the pressed powder blush but I absolutely adore the loose powder blushes!

Jill+Stuart+Blush+1

Jill+Stuart+Blush+3

Jill+Stuart+Blush+2

I know, I know I’ve already done a Jill Stuart spotlight but today I thought I’d focus on the blushes!

I’ve always had such a soft spot in my heart for these blushes. They come housed in a dome shaped powder jar that has a certain Victorian feel about it. Bedecked with little jewels the jar is completely girlish and very pretty. Although it’s plastic the container still manages to sport a certain elegance about it.

Jill+Stuart+Blush+8

I used to have all the shades of the blush but I’ve swapped a few away here and there and I’m left with five at the moment. My favorite of the bunch is Aurora Rose which is a popping pink that makes me look like someone pinched my cheeks!

Jill+Stuart+Blush+6

Jill+Stuart+Blush+5

One thing I must rave on and on about is the great brush these comes with. It’s dense with large fluffy bristles that make application a breeze. I look forward to one day hitting bottom on one of these blushes so i can use the brush for something else. I’m anal at the moment and won’t use the brush for anything else but the blush it came with.

Jill+Stuart+Blush+7

The blushes are pigmented and silky smooth but if I’m honest I’d probably admit to buying these just because I adore the packaging…the fact that blushes are good is just a bonus!

Jill Stuart Blushes total love for this Muse!

Anosa Rose Peeling Mask

Hello, my name is the Muse and I’m terribly addicted to absolutely useless cosmetics. Remember the Sony Blackhead Stick?

Last week I was telling you about Anosa Ananas Sativus Face Peeling Mask and this week I have Anosa Rose Face Peeling Mask for you!

Anosa+Rose+Peeling+Mask+1

Ahh bless be another useless face peeling mask review awaits you after the jump!

Excited?

To refresh your memory allow the Muse to explain that peeling mask doesn’t necessarily mean that the mask “peels off”. Actually the product is used on a water dampened face by rubbing in and around your skin. As you work the product it “peels” and “pills” off your face in little gobs that resemble skin…kinda gross I know but interesting.

Anosa+Rose+Peeling+Mask+3

Anosa+Rose+Peeling+Mask+2

The mask is a pale pink and smells heavenly, like fresh blooming roses.

Anosa Rose Peeling Mask is supposed to purify the face and cleanse the pores but honestly all it does is make my face feel squeaky clean and smells pretty. Aside from that it’s really useless!

Dontcha just love useless face products?

Anosa+Rose+Peeling+Mask+4

Anosa+Rose+Peeling+Mask+5

Anosa+Rose+Peeling+Mask+6

But that doesn’t stop Anosa from promising me the world in a cute little tube smelling of roses.

Oh well…some addictions can’t be cured!

The Body Shop RoseFlower Blush Review

Sweetly pink and oh so pretty is The Body Shop RoseFlower Blush! Pink is always the perfect shade for Spring so color yourself pretty this season with this new blush from The Body Shop!

The+Body+Shop+RoseFlower+Blush+2

Jump ahead for the deets!

Imagine a delicate blush of pink with a hint of shimmer to give your cheeks a touch of Spring! The Body Shop RoseFlower Blush available in two shade selections flushes cheeks with the perfect pink to make your face blossom for Spring.

The+Body+Shop+RoseFlower+Blush+3

The+Body+Shop+RoseFlower+Blush+5

The+Body+Shop+RoseFlower+Blush+7

The blush comes housed in a clear compact with a pretty little rose design on the case. The design follows through on the actual blush with a pretty blossoming rose embedded into the powder. The rose goes deep so don’t fear using the powder and rubbing away the pretty design, it’ll stick around for a while. I have the lightest shade of blush which is 01 Pink. The formula is silky and sheer and best used on top of already applied blush to boost the color as it’s too light for me to wear on it’s own. After trying out a few pieces in the collection I’m still quite charmed by the fact that everything smells like roses. How sweet!

02 Fusia seems like it would be a better option for my skin and appears more pigmented but I do like 01 Pink as a sort of finishing powder as it beefs up my blush and casts a hint of shimmer on my cheeks which is quite pretty.

I’m really enjoying The Body Shop RoseFlower Collection and think it’s one of the prettiest ones they released in a long while. Definitely wanting to go back and check out the second blush!

Mini Bourjois Blush Review and Swatches

They say that good things come in small packages. So the case may be with the brand new Mini Bourjois Blush Pots.

Itty bitty ickle little blushes are sure to make you break out in a smile and go “awwwwwwwwwwwwwww….”

Mini+Bourjois+Blush+1

Mini Bourjois has plenty pleased me in the past but these new blushes take the cake. Simply adorable. Truly a cute little budget friendly option that the Muse hopes and prays will make it’s way to the US shores. As of now these little guys are only available in Europe and Asia but I’m hopeful that they’ll hit Ulta sooner or later as Ulta carries the mini line up!

Mini+Bourjois+Blush+14

Mini+Bourjois+Blush+15

Mini Bourjois Blush are housed in a tiny compact about the size of a quarter and about 3 times smaller than a standard Bourjois blush compact. Seriously, you know how tiny the regular blush pots are already so imagine how teeny tiny these cream blushes are! Awww so sweet!

Mini+Bourjois+Blush+12

Mini+Bourjois+Blush+13

I love the idea of a tiny cream blush since I don’t particularly love cream blush as it wears off very quickly on me, thus a small size is ideal for someone who doesn’t use it all that often. It’s also rather great for getting a range of colors without 1. breaking the bank and 2. worrying about them going bad as they’ll be long gone before that happens at this size!

The blushes are available in 8 shade selections but I only got three as they are virtually sold out everywhere according to Laura who runs around England locating this crap for me. Thanks Laura, the Muse loves you for answering her pleas of “get me this, get me that!” Truly an angel to deal with my diseased cosmetic hoarding.

I read on a British blog that Superdrug had a sale and these were £1 each which is around what I paid as they had some sort of discount going on that removed £2.53 from my purchase. It was like a buy one get one 50% off so not a bad deal. Each blush is normally £2.93 each but with the sale broke it down to around £2.08 each. I can’t believe I’m going to say this but I’m about to get all cheap on you here…the blushes are really small and even at the sale price of £2.08 that’s kinda costly for ‘em and paying full price of £2.93 is even worst! If you really want to wince in pain the price in Japan is 8,40 yen…ummm oh my god inflation. I’m just taking size into consideration here but the price is a tad on the high side but it does remain budget friendly as the quality is good.

Mini+Bourjois+Blush+21

The blushes are supposedly cream to powder but I don’t really feel they dry down to a powder finish. They have a hint of shimmer and pack plenty of pigment for their price tag. The size just thrills me. They are so tiny and ideal for toting around with you for quickie touch ups. I swear Mini Bourjois deserves an award for travel friendly cosmetic options. I can tuck this into my change purse if I wanted as it’s that tiny!

The shades I got were 2, 5, and 8. 8 is by far the best as it’s a really dark rose shade that’s truly lovely for Spring! 2 is a nice bronze shade and 5 is a shimmering light rose pink which is also lovely for Spring.

If you’re wanting them look to Evil-bay UK as I’ve seen some sellers selling lots of these for decent prices. Also check on forums or MUA and ask a friendly Brit for a purchase.

Oh by the way! No FOTD’s yet but will do some soon!

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Luminous Liquid Bronzer Review

I think I might have turned to the dark side….must be because they have cookies over here…nothing could tempt me over to the dark side other than cookies and possibly cuppycakes.

I’m talking about the bronzer dark side of course.

untitled

The Muse likes her white pasty skin. This means the sun, tanning, and bronzers are a big NO for her. However, she does so admit to dabbling her tiny toes in the bronzer pond lately.

Shocked was she that the new Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Luminous Liquid Bronzer is actually kinda awesome….

Estee+Lauder+Bronze+Goddess+Luminous+Liquid+Bronzer+2

Whoa a momentous day indeed! Should we write the date down? Muse discovers awesome bronzer March 3rd, 2009. K, got it!

I’m thinking you need to try out the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Luminous Liquid Bronzer for yourself. Head to a counter and have a little swatch and a play. Afterward come back here and tell me whatcha think. Bet you’ll join me on the dark side, don’t expect cookies I don’t bake.

Estee+Lauder+Bronze+Goddess+Luminous+Liquid+Bronzer+4

Estee+Lauder+Bronze+Goddess+Luminous+Liquid+Bronzer+3

I like this stuff!

Basically the product comes in a glass foundation style bottle which houses a rather dark, scary gold bronze liquid. Looking at it makes me quiver and shake in fear but I promise it’s actually quite an enlightening experience once you tried it out.

I take a few dabs and rub on my cheeks and whatever I have left on my fingers I apply to my chin and forehead. The effect is a soft, peachy glow with hints of golden sparkle. Nothing too dramatic, nothing too crazy. A little goes a long way considering the product is deeply pigmented so best not get too crazy otherwise you’ll be sporting a BAD tan. Just a tiny dab on each cheek, blend, and presto beautiful looking skin.

Estee+Lauder+Bronze+Goddess+Luminous+Liquid+Bronzer+8

Estee+Lauder+Bronze+Goddess+Luminous+Liquid+Bronzer+7

Well, wow who knew it could be so simple to apply liquid bronzer? I followed up my look by putting a touch of blush on top so it looks more natural. The finished result is a flushed tanned look that makes me look like I stood in the sun for a few hours. Actually the effect is better than a regular boring tan as the color is such a nice peachy glow which is something you can’t get from the sun.

Considering you only need a dab for your face you’ll probably take years to use this all up so I highly suggest adding a little bit to your moisturizer and applying to your legs for a nice tint of color or even arms! Might as well get the most bang for your buck outta of it right?

Estee+Lauder+Bronze+Goddess+Luminous+Liquid+Bronzer+16

If you’re wanting to pair it up with some great products the Muse suggests trying it out with a golden eye look! How about the new Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Sand & Sea Eyeshadow Palette (review coming soon…)? Gold is always great with a tan so I recommend applying a touch of the bronzer with some Urban Decay Baked Bronzer on top for a truly sparkling golden tan! Want glowing pink cheeks with your bronzed skin? Trying topping with a touch of Bobbi Brown Rouge Pot or a Stila Convertible Color!

The application is simplicity itself which makes it very appealing for a bronzer newbie like me. A simple swipe and blend on my cheeks is all it takes! The shade should be pretty universal and work with lighter, medium, and darker skin types. If you’re lighter you’ll want to just use a tiny dab and if you’re darker a little bit more will give you just the right glow!

No matter how you use it I’m positive you’ll fall in love with it the way I did. I’m quite shocked at how much I liked it and I’m already planning many uses for it this coming Summer!

You’ll love this if:

  • You want a simple bronzer that applies in a snap and doesn’t make a mess!
  • You want something you can use on your face and your legs and arms (why not? who says we can’t improvise!)
  • You like a tanned look but don’t want to get it by forsaking your skin to the evil rays of the sun!

Overall, I was delighted with this bronzer and can see myself making great use of it, particularly when the MAC Summer Collection hits!
