The Muse is absolutely loving the Stila Summer Collection so much. It’s possibly one of my favorite releases this year for Summer with its shimmering gold and bronze shades. Almost everything released was a win for this Muse. I’ve been busy testing it all out and today I’m bringing you a review of the brand new Stila Marigold Convertible Color Duo!
One part bronzer and one part shimmering convertible color are combined to create Stila Marigold Convertible Color Duo. Creating a creamy shade of convertible color in a bronzer is ideal as it’s virtually sweat proof, tear proof, and Summer-wear proof! This isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon.
The duo comes with a strong matte bronze shade and a shimmering bronze shade (think shiny new penny). I do think I’d probably avoid this if it contained only the matte bronze color as I can’t pull off such a deep shade of bronze on my face. By combining the two shades though you’ll get a very nice healthy flush of peach. To start my look I add a touch of the matte shade to my cheeks and blend and proceed to place some of the shimmering shade on top as this lightens up the muddiness of the matte shade and creates more of a peachy, sunny glow. The duo together is gorgeous but as I said I doubt I’d ever be able to use just the matte shade as it’s too strong a color to use on it’s own. The appeal of the product is definitely in the fact that it comes with two beautiful shades that when cocktailed together create a perfect sun kissed glow.
If you’re looking for that perfect compact to give your cheeks a bit of Summer glow, look no further than Stila Marigold Convertible Color Duo! It’s a great solution for long wearing, Summer proof-makeup that’s perfect for that beach glow. The Muse likes it, alot!
I slipped a quickie eye shot in too! That’s DuWop’s trio on my eyes, god I freaking love that palette!

Since I was busy musing about KATE today I couldn’t help but bring out my very favorite KATE palette of all time to muse over. KATE Glamtrick Palette in GN-1 holds a special place in my heart and is possibly the greatest palette in the world for creating a smoky green eye look in a few steps!
Released with the KATE Spring Collection 2008, GN-1 contained a beautiful selection of greens to create a sexy, flirty green eye look that’s made my eyes sizzle with life. I absolutely adore this palette! It’s since made many of my all time favorite lists and has been the source of plenty of posts here!

I couldn’t help but share the love today for GN1! Truly a great little palette that does an incredible smoky eye. Gorg! See my Musings on KATE Glamtrick Palettes for further information!

Snag yourself some economy friendly beauty with Pacifica Body Lotion!
Pacifica is brand new at your local Sephora and the Muse couldn’t be happier that they are carrying the line as it’s budget friendly, has unique scent blends, and is a great line of green friendly beauty!
Pacifica Body Lotions are a whooping 16oz in size for merely $22 USD each! These guys are jumbo size and house plenty of lotion to last you anywhere from 6 months to a year with daily use. If you’re a green friendly makeup and body care user you’ll be happy to know that Pacifica’s entire line is 100% Vegan Friendly minus harmful ingredients such as parabens!
I absolutely adore these lotions as they absorb so quickly and leave my skin silky smooth with a fantastic layer of scent that lasts all day. The entire Pacifica Collection is available in a wide array of scents that are unique and interesting. I recently tried out Pacifica Body Lotion in Lotus Garden and Pacifica Body Lotion in Bali Lime Papaya both of which are incredible scents for Spring and Summer.
Bali Lime Papaya has dominant note of papaya but with just the right amount of lime to create a complexity that’s fruity and sweet!
Lotus Garden has a dominant note that is a crisp, clean citrus. The citrus keeps the blend fruity but it’s quickly followed up with green notes and a strong underlay of lotus which gives a clean note to the fragrance. It’s quite unusual and very, very nice.
Who might like Pacifica Body Lotion?
Those who like a quick absorbing body cream that leaves skin silky smooth and not sticky or tacky!
- Anyone who wants more for alot less (16oz Jumbo Size for $22 USD, likey!)
- Anyone who likes a moisturizer that has a scent that lingers on the skin all day and keeps you smelling lovely!
- Anyone who has dry skin that needs a little TLC!
All in all Pacifica Body Lotion has alot going for it with it’s green friendly ingredients, it’s appealing price tag, and wonderful scent blends. These are so definitely Muse Approved for purchase as they pack plenty of bang for your buck!

KATE Gradical Eyes Palettes are nothing new as they were released a year or two ago but for Spring 2009 KATE extended the line to release a new shade. I believe that this is the first time that KATE introduced a new shade to the collection, either that or I haven’t been paying much attention.
Jump ahead to see the newest shade!
Now I should mention I have pretty much all the shades from the KATE Gradical Eyes Palettes and I believe they were released for Spring 2007, correct me if I’m wrong. At the time I got them I was really quite pleased as they were pigmented and had some great colors however woe followed soon after. Out of all my KATE palettes, and I’m a big KATE fan mind you, Gradical Eyes is probably the worst ones they have in the line up. The texture of the shadows are a bit too chalky and don’t blend too smoothly. Anyway, the reason I’m telling you all this was because it would take alot for me to indulge in any new shades they released but this Spring they caught me! The newest shade release is BG-1 and it’s simply stunning! I seriously couldn’t resist the shade and I convinced myself it would be a great palette regardless of the crummy formula.
Wrong, but I’ll get into that shortly.
KATE Gradical Eyes Palettes contain a base shade of shadow, a contrasting shade, and a lid shade all in a powder formula. It also includes a highlighter or a base if you like in a cream formula. I’ve grown to hate these style of palettes as I don’t like the cream and think it’s an utterly wasteful item as I never use it. The basic application is applying the lightest shade as a base, the medium shade all over the lid and crease, and applying the darkest shade on the lid which you’ll blend slightly upwards. The final step is using the cream as a highlighter for the highbrow. Using the creamy shade as a base makes the shadow crease and just causes a major mess so I stick to using it as a highbrow highlighter.
As I mentioned above the lure of the newest shade got a hold of me as it’s quite pretty. The shade selection is called blue-green by KATE but for me it’s pure aqua. I’m a big lover of aqua which is why I decided to indulge.
Ado…even a new shade can’t take away from how crummy a formula the shadows are. Although all the shades are pretty and plenty pigmented they still blend badly. You can’t contrast much of your look as the shades are difficult to blend and end up turning into one big gob of aqua. Meh.
Although the palette is gorgeous shade it’s not worth purchasing in my humblest as the formula is simply too crummy to work with. KATE makes some great palettes but it’s an epic fail for the Gradical Eyes line.
How about you?
Fan of Gradical Eyes?
Not so much?
