Summer Series: Liptini Lip Liqueur Lip & Cheek Stain Review

Are there ever enough cheek stains? The Muse thinks not. I love cheek stains and it’s Summer so I love ’em more. Sweat-proof, beach-proof, you name it your cheek stain will get you happily through the day. Put it on and it stays on, ’nuff said.

Cheek stains have come a long way since the Muse originally started her obsession with them way back when Benetint was the only cheek stain on the market. Nowadays they are just about everywhere but you have to admit one thing, although plentiful, they aren’t available in many shade selections. Seems they are stocked in one, two, or if you’re lucky four shades but that’s about it.

Liptini obviously understands the need for more cheek stains, lots more, in an array of colors.

Liptini is the home to many, many a fine lip product (and nail if you’re into that sort of thing!) including plenty of, you guessed it, cheek stains! Yay everyone run around in circles and get happy or you can watch by the side lines while the rest of us run around, entirely up to you.

Liptini offers two stain options which are Lip Liqueur Lip & Cheek Stains and Cordial Shimmering Lip & Cheek Tints. The Liqueurs come in 11 shades and the Cordials come in 6 shades. That’s a whole lot of stain variety. I haven’t tried the Cordials although the finish sounds so very, very me but I have tried the Liqueurs and I must say I’m inclined to love ’em.

Liptini Lip Liqueur Lip and Cheek Stain can be used, obviously, on cheeks and or lips. The color is intense, bad ass pigmentation going on here. You have to be aware prior to purchasing that if you’re not a fan of popping shades of color that’s extremely long wearing you might wish to avoid. These are virtually bullet proof. The end of the world as we know it could happen later this afternoon and your lip and cheek stain would still be rockin’ on long after that. I tried out Cherry Brandy and it’s pretty darn loud. Phew! I like ’em loud so bring it. It’s a mahogany that has a high dose of red so it gives an outrageous “hello there!!!!!!!” pop of color to my cheeks and lips. If I’m honest I think it works best on my lips because it’s just a tad too crazy for my cheeks but with a lighter application I can probably get away with it.

You should be aware that these are a tad on the difficult side to blend if you’re using them on your cheeks. It’s a matter of working quickly during application as the product dries down super fast. I suggest dabbing a dot, a small dot, onto the apple of your cheek and quickly blend with your fingertips or a sponge. Don’t dot both cheeks and blend. If you do both cheeks at the same time chances are the product will dry down while you’re working on one cheek and you’ll end up with a dot of stain on your other cheek aka you’ll look like a clown because it dried down before you had the chance to blend it out.

The price per a stain is $16.50 USD each. For the price and variety of colors I do think Liptini has a nice product collection available however I’m definitely wanting to try out the Cordials as they look a good deal nicer and possibly easier to blend.

No matter what way you splice it, Liptini has a nice variety of products available for purchase. If you’re tired of the normal range of glosses and stains do check them out. They have some nice sets and unique glosses and the likes. I think Liptini Liqueur Lip and Cheek Stain makes a fine addition to my Summer make up series as it’s it’s long wearing, gives a nice pop of color to lips and cheeks, and isn’t too badly priced!
