Can I tell you that I had Sonia Kashuk Sheer Magic Mineral Face Palette in my cart during my last trip to Target but I kept taking it out and putting it back, taking it out and putting it back.
Needless to say I left the store without the bloody thing because I’m so bleeding indecisive.
That’s where you come into play…help a Muse out….
Click ahead to learn how!
There isn’t any question I seriously want this little wonder palette. Is palette even the proper term to use? It’s basically a stackable set of mineral foundation, mineral blush, and a creamy concealer. There isn’t any palette here but hey whatever Sonia wants to name it is fine and dandy by this Muse!
It’s only $14.99 but my cart was loaded down and that extra $15 bucks for something that may or may not be good was kinda making me worry my bottom lip and bite my finger nails deciding did I really need mineral foundation in my life? Especially considering we don’t get along so well and all. The choice was turning into should we impeach Nixon or not. It was life altering that much I’ll tell you.
So the question is, do I need Sonia Kashuk Sheer Magic Mineral Face Palette in my life or is it something I can safely skip?
I’ll be honest and say the choice has kept me up at night for the better part of the week and I’m having a bad case of non buyer’s remorse and wishing I had indulged.
Sometimes my lems are big sometimes they are small. At the moment they are a teeny tiny size of under £2. What a steal!
Check it after the jump!
Vaseline makes a comeback in the UK with an amp’ed up version of simple everyday petroleum jelly with a hint of color. Yes, yes we all know my love affair with Smith’s but let me tell you Smith’s costs a whole heap of alot more than £1.49.
Available at Boots and Superdrug Vaseline Rosy Lips is pretty much the same concept of my beloved Smith’s but with a glossier, smoother finish and a heck of alot more pigment from the reviews I’ve heard around the town. Hey, DollFace has my favorite review of this tiny tin of joy!
Yes, I think I need more Vaseline in my life, particularly if it’s rosy in color.
If you wants it you’ll have to put your head together and do a little Sherlock Holmes searchin’ as it’s only available in the UK from what I’ve seen.
So which Summer Collections are you loving at the moment chicas?

My current favs are Clarins Instant Light Collection, so gorg! And also, little late to the ballgame, Guerlain Terracotta Collection. Guerlain Terracotta has a whole lot of bronzing going on and normally I’d probably avoid that much tanning goodness but I fell in love with the Guerlain Terracotta Blush and Sun and haven’t looked back since. I’m working my way through buying a majority of this collection as truly it’s gorgeous!
Although it’s not out as of yet I’m really also looking forward to MAC Colour Forums, particularly all those MSF, NEED, WANT, GIVE THEM TO ME!
Hmmm interesting beauty news here! Bella Beauty is now available on QVC. Good news for those that are fan of the indie makeup brand. Skip ahead to hear more.
Looks like QVC is slowly adding many Bella Beauty items to it’s line up. Strangely enough I even see items I’ve never seen from Bella before like cute little shadow palettes for $13 bucks, lovely price. Plus many other palettes that look quite nice!
If you happen to be a big fan of Bella Beauty this should be exciting news or if you never experienced the joy of the line now it’s available easily enough from QVC. Yay!
My love affair continues with FaceFront Cheek Up Blush! My recently haul is FaceFront Cheek Up Blush in Saloon ‘n Saddle. Oh my god how I love thee!
Click ahead to hear it!
It could prove to loud for those not brave enough to give it a whirl but Saloon ‘n Saddle is such an incredible coral shade (or bright orange if you prefer) for Summer. I’m utterly loving how very unique and outrageous this one is. Obviously I need to use a very light hand with it as it’s deeply pigmented but boy is it ever lovely. It also works a treat as a shadow too for a fiery sunset eye look!
Loves it!
It’s available from from FaceFront but it’s LE so step on it if you want to haul. I’m loving it, def part of my Summer Must Haves!

Let me tell you a story about the best $14 bucks you’ll spend this Summer. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is head to Kohl’s and snag yourself the new Flirt! Cosmetics Candy Stripes Glossy Lip Palette.
Loves ‘em!
Click to read the review.
My last run in with Flirt! Cosmetics was when I came across Flirt! Cosmetics RollerBlush. I’m pretty sure at the time I was thinking that what the world needed now was more rollerblush. What? It was a simpler time in life, the economy was considerably better, and the the idea of rollerblush just made the Muse’s happy. I’ve since realized that maybe rollerblush isn’t all that great an idea however I’ll tell you what is a fantastic idea. Flirt! Cosmetics Candy Stripes Glossy Lip Palettes!
I got these in the mail a few weeks ago and I was kinda saving them up until the weather got better. Well…the weather never did get better and we are full swing into Summer now so might as well shout the good word. At first peep they aren’t really anything to write home about and the makeup snob inside me is crying out that they do look somewhat cheap. But I do so admit all those strips of color are tempting and rather pretty to look at. Anything with strips of makeup, particularly gloss, inside always seems like a disastrous mess waiting to happen which could sway me from indulging. Even with a possible hot mess waiting in the wings and the slight cheap factor I decided to give Flirt! Candy Stripes Glossy Lip Palette it’s just deserves in the review department and was pleasantly surprised how much I liked them.
Available in two shades these palettes consist of five shades of pigmented gloss which act more like a creamy lip treatment than a gloss. You can mix, match, combine, or cocktail any and all of the glosses into a unique shade just for you or use each shade individually. The color combinations you can get from the one palette are truly limitless. I was so, so surprised at how incredibly pigmented these were. The formula isn’t without the flaw of being quite sticky and tacky but honestly how many glosses have you run into that don’t have such a formula (hello beloved MAC Lipglass!). The gloss is pretty much bulletproof and has quite a nice long wear. I’m looking at least 4-5 hours without eating and drinking of course. I think what delighted me most about the palettes was the pigmentation. Each color pops and sizzles on my lips, oh so lurvely.
The palette is available in two color varitations, Pink Stripes and Peach Stripes. Pink is very nice but my heart is with Peach. Mixing up the various shades of peach gives me a gorgeous shade of coral gloss that’s so beautiful! I find the best way to use the palettes is by slapping a bunch of the shades together. Some colors are lighter where as some are darker so combining them gets a perfect shade. I also noticed that applying a darker shade with a lighter on top gets a more glossy look since the darker shades lean more towards a creamy lip color rather than a simple gloss. Please excuse the crummy swatches! I only swatched the pink palette and it came out really light but truly the palette is way more pigmented than the swatches let on.
I really adore these and I’m glad I decided to get over myself and give them a whirl. Truly a worth while beauty purchase in my opinion. Do head on into Kohl’s to check ‘em out. I’m Muse Approving these for purchase, a great Summer Makeup Must Have for this Muse!
Below are some pics I took using the palettes. The first set I used the pink palette and the second I used the peach. I can’t say which colors I used because it’s a cocktail of almost everything in the palette but as you can see it’s rather a nice effect especially the peach!
As you may already know I’m a terribly big fan girl when it comes to Steam Cream. I consider it life saving for my skin. Gorgeous stuff. 3 for $15 or 6 for $20, no matter how you splice those numbers it’s pretty cheap for quality shadow dontcha think? Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Wet Dry Eyeshadow are that cheap and that good.
Victoria’s Secret has recently extended it’s Beauty Rush line to include brand new baked eyes shadows that can be used wet or dry.
Jump ahead to hear my review and see some swatches!
Ooooo baby I likey you! These are so cool. I ran across these when I was busy shoppin’ the Victoria’s Secret Pool Party Collection and fell instantly in love with ‘em.
What are they?
Cute little baked eye shadows with a metallic, shimmery finish and a cheap price tag!
How do they perform?
The formula is silky, smooth and blends beautifully for the price. Some fall out here and there but sometimes we have to take the bad with the good folks. They wear long, are nicely pigmented, and I’m rather in love with ‘em which makes them all the better right?
Who might like ‘em?
Anyone who wants a pigmented, cheap shadow! Anyone who wants a funky, foiled eye look for the Summer! Those who adore baked eye shadows!
I’m having a blast doing various looks with these this week. I can’t verify completely about how many shades there are but it appears around 6 to 8 shades. Honestly, for the price I’m pretty impressed. I don’t normally love the Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush makeup line but I have found a gem or two in those little displays by the register and Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Wet Dry EyeShadow happen to fall into the superstar category. I only got three shades as I was trying to keep my purchases to fun, Summer shades and a few colors fairly shouted Summer lovin’. The colors I got were Gold Rush, Hot Ginger, and Blueray. Gold Rush is a shimmering beige gold, Blueray is a pool blue with hints of aqua, and Hot Ginger is sparkling bronze. You can use the shadows wet or dry. Dry you’ll end up with a high metallic sparkle effect and wet you’ll have more of a foiled eye look. I didn’t create a look for you using all three shades but I did do two looks one of which I’ll post here and later on with my review of Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm you’ll see me sporting Gold Rush.
Overall, the price tag and quality of the shadows makes them a worthy item of a pick up. These aren’t available on the Victoria’s Secret website as of yet so you can’t see swatches but head in store for a peep. These are tossed in with the other Beauty Rush items so you can’t miss ‘em. I noticed that some stores have only three or four shades where as other stores had close to 8 shades so shop around for a bigger selection.
I’m Muse Approving these for purchase! Well worth picking up. Loves ‘em!
Hayden Christensen is the face for the brand new Lacoste Challenge Fragrance. Featuring an ultra preppy, sporty look, Hayden is the latest to jump on board the celebrity fragrance model rise. Look out Becks, Jonathan, and James, Hayden is bringing the force to fragrance…sorry guys that’s something you’ll never have.
It’s obvious I’ve been hauling C.O. Bigelow at BBW lately right? My latest discovery is from the brand new C.O. Bigelow Face Collection. The line includes a slew of interesting bits which I’ll tell you all about soon but today I’ll be concentrating on the new C.O. Bigelow Vitamin Boost Toner.
Can you say love?
Click it to hear the rave!
With a $12 price tag and a larger size bottle than my normal Shu Uemura DepSea Water Facial Mist I can so get on board the cheap train to enjoy myself a bottle of C.O. Bigelow Vitamin Boost Toner. Likey!
With promises to perk up my tired, dull looking skin and replenish it with nutrients I imagine this could get the typical skin care junkie excited. It’s formulated with a Healthy Skin Complex, a blend of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to keep my skin looking healthy, strong, and youthful supposedly. That’s a whole lot of promise but the real deal is that it’s cheap and it performs pretty great at toning my skin, refreshing it, and making it ready for my facial moisturizer and really that’s about all I need. Now if by chance it also gives me a youthful appearance and is packing my skin full of healthy goodness I won’t complain but I promise I’m an easy going sort that will be just as happy if it simply tones my face, which in fact it does.
It’s 6.3oz in size and $12 bucks ummm hello cheap! My typical bottle of Shu Uemura Depsea Water Facial Mist in Mint is 5oz in size and $24. See? Cheap is good. It feels the same on my skin as Shu’s, it does the same thing in making my skin moist and dewy, and it even has a better nozzle for a finer spray of mist than my Shu. I’m feeling that happy glow of saving myself $12 bucks here people. The mist is subtly scented with a crisp, floral, slightly fruity smell. It’s quite difficult to describe the scent but it’s almost like a very green kiwi.
Fact of the matter is C.O. Bigelow Vitamin Boost Toner is cheap, refreshing, and gives my skin a nice wake up call all while keeping it fresh, dewy, and easing the way for my moisturizer.
If you’re not willing to dish $24 or more dollars on toner I’d say check it out. It’s Muse Approved for purchase and well worth your dollar. It’s available now from Bath and Body Works and the kicker is all of C.O. Bigelow products are buy two get two free right now so hurry on over and snag yourself some.

So you already know how much I hate mineral foundation right? Not really a fan here, ‘ello! In it’s defense I have had success with one or two mineral foundations however not enough success to make me toss out my cream foundation anytime soon.
As of late I’ve been hearing the ravings about how a Flock Sponge can make mineral foundation application an absolute dream. Obviously I needed a Flock Sponge for my very self since I’m absolutely stupid when it comes to tapping and buffing and and swirling and all that stuff. Kinda reminds me of stop, drop, and roll. Seriously, one day, in a few years, you’ll drop your kids at school and they’ll be a fireman there to give a demonstration on how to swirl, tap, and buff.
So about that Flock Sponge and how it’s going to change my life….
Jump ahead to read the review!
I wonder to myself if maybe my problem with mineral makeup was all that tapping, and swirling, and buffing. Maybe I haven’t quite gotten the hang of all those tasks to get a simple foundation on my face. Word on the street is that a flocked sponge is the easiest way to get a good finish from mineral powder on your face and also makes it last longer. Hmmm! Ok, what’s this all about than?
A flock sponge gives medium coverage and creates a flawless, pore-less look when applying mineral foundation with it. It can also be washed and used over and over again.
I’m pretty much pore-less. That’s how my skin is. Pores are the least of my worries so achieving a flawless finish with a fancy named sponge wasn’t all that appealing however they did have me at flawless, even coverage plus the simplicity of not having to buff and tap and swirl anything about sounded quite good to me.
The sponge isn’t your typical run of the mill sponge. It has a velvety, felt-like finish and indeed it does what it promises. It smooths mineral foundation onto skin in a very light almost caressing way. Coverage can be light, medium, or heavier depending on how much you use. It does offer a more even coverage and takes out the drama of having to buff foundation on. Simplicity is always a great option as far as the Muse is concerned. Taking away multiply steps to apply my foundation is a welcome relief. Now you may worry that applying with a sponge will give you a cakey, heavy feeling but the flock sponge somehow manages to pick up just the right amount of product, smooth it on, and create good, flawless coverage without creating a mask of makeup. I’m particularly enamored with the sponge because it somehow makes mineral foundation feel less like a mask on my skin, I feel less made up when using the sponge and it feels like my skin is breathing.
If you’re looking for a simple, easier way to apply your mineral foundation or maybe you’re just not quite a lover of mineral foundation, I highly suggest trying out a flock sponge for application, definitely a very interesting concept that I’ve had success with.
Anyone apply their mineral foundation with a flock sponge?
When word of C.O. Bigelow Lemon Eau de Parfum hit the Muse was quite hyped for a sniff. She loves all of the C.O. Bigelow Lemon Collection and the general idea of a lemony fragrance along the same vein absolutely thrilled her to bits and pieces.
Check out my review of C.O. Bigelow Lemon Eau de Parfum
Considering the formula is inspired by it’s Lemon Body Cream I was all about hauling this as quickly as I could get my greedy hands on it. I admit I was worried they’d end up messing it up with notes it didn’t need especially since the description reads of green lemon leaves, creamy undertones, and a warm white musk. That sounds all nice and lovely but honestly the Lemon Body Cream is more about straight up sweet, tart lemon without all the unnecessary extras. You know what I mean dontcha?
I was pleasantly surprised that it does indeed smells simply like lemon, particularly like C.O. Bigelow Lemon Body Cream. No fanfare here it’s just sparkling, fruity, and sweet, with a round of tartness which blends it out to a happy effervescent note that the body lotion lacks. It’s quite lovely and light, beautiful for Summer wear.
I absolutely love it.
C.O. went all out with the packaging on this guy as well. It’s a large glass bottle that’s 3.5oz in size but feels way larger. Right now it’s Buy Two C.O. Bigelow items and Get Two Free including this fragrance which regularly retails for $34 USD so if you have a friend (or just overindulge yourself) you can split the costs between the two of you. It retails for $34.50 USD and I think it’s well worth picking up. I admit I was slightly disappointed that it didn’t last longer on my skin so I was left touching up after two hours or so but regardless it’s such a nice Summer scent that I can’t resist Muse Approving it for purchase. If you absolutely adore the C.O. Bigelow Lemon line or you’re just simply a lover of lemony scents this one is for you. Truly a great blend for Summer!
