NP Set Palette: NP Sweater Set Palette Review

My one experience with NP Set was pretty darn good and I was quite happy with the brand but never really further explored the line further until now. Recently NP Set has released a slew of handy little palettes that give you everything you need to create two complete looks including step by step tutorials. For those of us who aren’t so handy with color and blending, instructions like these are always a blessing.

Jump ahead for a peep at the new NP Sweater Set Cheek, Eye, and Lip Palette!

As I mentioned above NP Set has released a slew of these little palletes to suit your individual sense of style and personality. Each palette features lip, eye, and cheek makeup to create two separate looks. The palettes are $29 each and available on the NP Set website at http://www.npsetcosmetics.com. I haven’t seen this particular line in Target as of yet but I’m sure it’ll be released soon as back to school is right around the corner and what better time to market a new line of palettes.

There are a total of three palettes which are NP Denim Set, NP Sweater Set, and NP Career Set. Each palette creates a certain look which can be used for work, play, or for a glamourous night look!

NP Career Set
Is a palette for work-appropriate makeup. Elegant and chic this palette is for those who like a more neutral, natural makeup that’s understated yet elegant.

NP Denim Set
Is a palette to hang out with. It’s the girl next door but with a flash of bold. Shades of purples create a super chic night or day look.

NP Sweater Set
This is the palette I’ll be reviewing for you today. This palette is the softest of the three with shimmering golds and pinks to create a soft, cozy look a la your favorite sweater!

The palettes all contain 5 eye shadows, one blush, three lip glosses, a dual side applicator, and instructions for creating two looks. You can of course create any number of looks using the palette but I found the instructions ideal for creating just the right looks without any guess work on my part. I blend shadow pretty well and I don’t have too many major problems applying makeup however I can use all the help I can get when pairing up colors. That’s why palettes like this are such a blessing. Pairing up all the shades I need in one neat palette keeps things simple so it’s a no brainer to create your look!

Although I was thinking that NP Sweater Set would be more of a softer, pastel look it ended up turning into quite a nice work or night time look. I was partial to the night time look which really did something for my eyes. The palette is a nice size white plastic compact with full size mirror. The shadows are all nicely pigmented, nothing dramatic mind you but they blend nicely, have a good soft texture, and are smooth enough to apply without having fall out all over your face. The glosses I wasn’t particularly partial to as I didn’t like the colors all that much but overall they do complete the look nicely. And finally the blush was a sheer color but again it perfected the look created. The shadows included are a sheer matte cream, shimmering gold, matte lilac rose, shimmering golden brown, and shimmering dark pewter. The glosses are a light bronze, tangerine, and pale iridescent pink. The blush included is a dusky rose.

The instructions are pretty basic with a diagram of the palette labeling each item with a number and following up with instructions detailing which “number” to use on your eyes, lips, and cheeks. The daytime look is a simple smoky brown look with a contrast of shimmering gold. The nighttime look consists of golden brown contrasted with the darker pewter shade. The looks are all suitable for either day or night looks in my opinion and perfectly work safe. I did improvise slightly with my night look by applying a deeper shade of blush to my cheeks but my day time look was created using everything in the palette.

If you’re new to makeup and would like a simple, no nonsense palette to practice a few looks will I highly suggest nabbing an NP Set Palette as they are ideal for creating simple, practical looks that are quite pretty.
