Beauty Abroad: L’Oreal True Match Rollon Foundation

Yes well speaking of L’Oreal have you been introduced to the new L’Oreal True Match Rollon Foundation yet?

L'Oreal True Match Rollon Foundation 1

Oh come now, don’t be timid, you so know when you grow up you want a foundation you can roll onto your face….you should have goals people one of which would be creative ways to apply your foundation.

No but seriously L’oreal really does have a brand new Roll On Foundation that was recently launched in the UK (and prob most of Europe to just don’t get too excited it’s not available in the US. We haven’t reached the height of roll on technology as of yet.)

According to L’Oreal this combines a high perfomance foundation with an innovative applicator for flawless-looking results. The Muse calls it, “Damn, for serious? Give me some of that to try out! I want to roll on my foundation!”

I kinda dig the idea in all honestly. It looks like a soft sponge roller which you roll ala paint roller style into your pan of foundation and you proceed to apply onto your face. I do wonder about application around areas such as the nose though. Not so sure the “roller” will do a good job of rolling around all the slopes and hills of my face but one can hope this is a gift from the cosmetic gods above and will work like a complete charm.

It’s available now from Boots for 12.71 plus if you’re a bit skeptical Boots does have a 3 for 2 sale ongoing. I’m debating do I need myself some L’Oreal True Match Rollon Foundation….

Not sure about the release in the US but who knows we might see it soon and we can all be rolling our way to flawless skin or one can hope we will.

What do you think of this unique design and take on foundation application?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. I want to see how this is used. The idea of rolling foundation on a person’s face with a roller intrigues and amuses me at the same time. Then again, I am easily amused lol.

OMG that is awesome/funny/different! reminds me of painting walls, haha!
i would try it for sure! hope it heads this way though. i think to do the sides of my nose, i’d roll some on one (clean) hand and then use my fingers to apply it to the nooks and crannies. or just use concealer there instead.

    • the Muse

agreed that’s the first thing that popped into my head Laura…painting walls 😀 I’m thinking it will since L’Oreal Explosive Mascara finally came over. I normally don’t apply concealer on my nose anyway hehe I was being dramatic 😀

    • the Muse

Eliva you’re the second one to rave it 😀 obviously I’m missing out!!!! 😀 I haven’t tried it so I’ll have to go haul 😀

  • hannah

sounds like a good idea,, but itll probably cake like crazy..atleast that was my first thought..hah

  • mary_in_wonder

ugh I don’t think this rolling application is a good idea. It’s okay to paint the walls….but the face…o_O
Thank goodness we don’t have this (yet) in this part of Europe XD

    • the Muse

haha Mary! 😀 yes I suppose the idea of rolling on foundation is very weird. :-D! So far I’ve seen it in England and Sweden I believe…I imagine it’ll hit soon enough 😀

      • mary_in_wonder

If it gets here by time and performs well maybe I’ll be persuaded to try it. But it seems like something for adventurous teens who like to play with FUNNY makeup =D

  • Lucy

    I tried it.

    It’s a no from me.
I was shopping very early, as soon as the store opened and I managed to find an unused tester in my shade so decided to try it. (Have a thing about used testers..) Cleaned a bit of foundation off my jaw with a wet wipe, rolled it on and.. well hm?!
It looked like incredibly cheap finishing powder. It adhered to every single little baby hair on my jaw, and just looked so cakey and thick. They advertise it as minimal blending but I think it would rewuire more than a liquid. Also, my skin isn’t dry in the slightest, it’s pretty greasy, but somehow True Match Roll On found a dry patch and accentuated it to death. Flakey and blugh. Lucky I carry wet wipes and a small tester of my ususal foundation with me or I’d of looked like an arse for the rest of the day.
Seriously, I think this is one for girls who already have incredibly perfect, poreless and HAIRLESS skin.
So I guess if you wax your cheeks and jaw this is for you 😉

    • the Muse

      Hey Lucy!

Awesome, thanks for the low down as we are all curious!

I do too, testers are scary 😀

LOL oh my sounds like a nightmare 😀 I fear I’m not up for waxing my jaw or cheeks lol!

    • the Muse

oh no emma 😛 not cool! I noticed it was only like 6-7 shades which was weird as True Match has an entire line of shades!

  • robyn

i want this for the roller thingy ahh soo tempted i was at a friends when the ad came on tv we couldnt believe it until we saw it in boots

damn that 3 for 2 im utterly skint now! and the proud owner of much urban decay:)
its 3 for 2 on like everything !!
how are the muse’s cat eye attempts going ? relevent cause i find it easy to do with UD liqiud eyeliners but another tip is the ink for eyes (im sure you have it i think i remember reading your review?) its sooo easy to create perfect flicks with it wont look like liquid but it will help you get the shape then you can practice with liquid by tracing over the cream liner practice

    • the Muse

robyn I’m so wanting to haul the pro collection b/c of the 3 for 2 collection! UGH! Now I want this…quite a few nays so far but I can’t help it, it’s rather intriguing! Damn nice hauling on UD ;-D I’d kill for 3 for 2 sale on UD!

So so not too bad 😀 hehe! I’m using Milani lately and it’s working out decent bu I’m still reaching for my KATE thin line which does a great job!

Oh good idea! I’ve tried doing this with powder….basically do my line and if it comes out shaky or messy I reline over it with powder to fill in anything I screwed up 😀

      Thanks for the tip lovie!

      • robyn

my pleasure anything to return the invaluble info from all your reviews!

nothing beats swatches on blogs ones on online shops never look the same mac open a store in near me pretty pretty please!

        • the Muse

          aww thanks robyn!

awww I TOTALLY understand. I’m pretty impressed with Urban Decay lately they take actual photos of items for press release so it looks quite like the product. but mac..swatches…sucks 😛

    • the Muse

HA how did I miss Kat’s review? Thanks Marie. Since she moved and started doing a partial feed I sometimes miss her reviews 😀 awesome!

      Thanks!

  • kimberly

might as well just buy a mini roller from a DIY store and use your original foundation ladies !

  • Margaret

Usually L’oréal seems to launch its products in europe ahead of north america, but I imagine we’ll prob see this in stores by Christmas or at least the spring.

    • the Muse

mmm just like everyone else does Margaret sad sigh 🙁 but looking forward to seeing it soon 🙂

  • TexasBrandi

I don’t like it -I did have roller marks after using it -and just like it says above, if I used less, there wasn’t enough coverage.

I prefer Maybelline’s new age rewind eraser -it still is a bit lighter coverage than I like, but it was closer than this was -very convenient and no application marks. I put mineral powder on top and then had the coverage that I liked.

I’d save your money when it comes to the roller!

    • the Muse

aw sorry to hear Brandi! I liked the new age rewind too but I thought it was a little greasy for some reason.
