The Muse missed the boat on the Bobbi Brown Face Touch Up Stick. I dunno I was kinda on the fence about a stick concealer so I didn’t bother indulging. I guess stick foundations kinda remind me of those old school lipstick style concealers with the hard texture and awful formula that makes blending into the art of scrubbing really hard. Applying concealer should not involve scrubbing to the point you’re yelling “out, out damn spot!”. You so know what I mean right? Lord knows they even still sell these lethal concealer lipstick thingys at your local drugstore. In my humblest they should be outlawed.
Yes, so that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
However, Clarins Concealer Stick popped around for a visit today and I immediately raced to my mirror to try it out. I should have been feeling skeptical about it like most stick foundation but in my excitement I completely forget my unforgiving nature in regards to stick concealers.
Thank god I did as it’s special.
Jump for it.
“In a long-anticipated move, the Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. said Thursday it will shut down wholesale distribution of its 30-year-old Prescriptives brand by Jan. 31. Products will continue to be available through the brand’s Web site for consumers needing replenishment, until supplies run out.
“A core component of the Estée Lauder Companies’ corporate strategy is to evaluate, and where possible, turn around underperforming brands with the goal of improving return on investment. After a thorough analysis of the Prescriptives brand, management concluded that the brand’s long-term business model is no longer viable given the current market environment. We believe that the difficult decision relating to Prescriptives will allow us to redirect our resources to key strategic imperatives where we see the highest growth potential,” said Freda.
This is unbelievable news. I realize Prescriptives doesn’t have as big a cult following as many other brands but it’s surreal that they are going to close it down completely.
I guess we could have seen this coming since Prescriptives pulled out of Asia not too long ago when it was doing fairly well abroad. Quite an interesting development and honestly even after shutting down Asian counters I really couldn’t foresee this.
I’m quite upset as I really do love the brand as they have some fun LE released.
We all love you.
As you know the Muse doesn’t cover much in the way of nails over here but she was quite excited to see her good mate Michelle from All Lacquered Up featured in the Backstage with Sally Hansen video. The video features nail trends during Fashion Week 2009 and has a great recap of the show with interviews from Tracy Reese, Gabrielle Union, Michelle from All Lacquered Up. Michelle is looking lovely and all in the know with the trends she spotted this season, you’d think by now the Muse would have picked up a thing or two about good nails from her….oye, I need to work on these poor nails.

Your new facial mist shall be mine.
See ya soon!
Philosophy Hope Springs Eternal Facial Mist is hydrating miss that replenishes skin’s natural moisture level with a fresh, invigorating scent. This is formulated with 250 minerals that topically feed skin nutrients for a healthy glow.
The Muse wants to feel the glow. It’s $20 for a 5oz size which is cheaper than Shu’s Facial Mist so I’m on it plus I like the promise of an invigorating scent…wonder what that’s all about?
Yes, you shall be mine Philosophy Hope Springs Eternal Facial Mist!
Lucky enough the wrinkle bug hasn’t quite bitten me yet. The Muse sports fine lines under her eyes but her face is pretty smooth so far thankfully. She recently got a chance to check the new Avon Anew Wrinkle Zone Line Smoothing Duo and didn’t think much of it as this is meant for crows feet, lines around the mouth, and generally little pesky wrinkles that crop up on the face.
After trying it out she was chuffed at how well it worked she even improvised slightly and used it in places not recommended by the actually instructions…what? She likes living dangerously!
What did she think?
