Urban Decay Holiday 2009: Urban Decay Show Pony Shadow Box Review and Swatches
As you know already Urban Decay hit the scene early with their Holiday Collection. They are probably one of the first brands that have their Holiday stock up and available for retail on their site. Pretty exciting and impressive considering it seems like December is ages away but in reality it’s never to early to get shopping done early now is it?
I’ve already introduced you to all of the offerings from Urban Decay Holiday 2009 and today I’ll be bringing you some swatches and a review of one of their newest palettes for the season entitled Show Pony Shadow Box. It’s fierce peeps, you so needs one.
Take a look after the jump!
Artsy types take note this palette was illustrated by Kime Buzzelli, popular in the LA art scene. Her design is pretty wicked as it does give off a certain preview to what you’ll find inside as each woman depicted on the palette has colorful shadow and makeup on their lids and cheeks.
Six shades of shadow, an Urban Decay 24/7 Liner, and a Primer Potion makeup this darling little palette. Part of it’s overwhelming appeal for me is the fact that two of the six shades are exclusive to the set. I’m a huge fan of Urban Decay eye shadow so presenting me with exclusive anything in their shadow department makes me gasp for breath in excitement.
The shadows you’ll get are:
- Snatch (Exclusive Shade, peachy, pink with glitter)
- Painkiller (Exclusive Shade, turquoise shimmer)
- Mildew (olive green)
- Flash (bright purple)
- Toasted (copper)
- Smog (deep bronze)
The palette is pretty versatility as it has that bold Urban Decay edge but also includes shades such as Toasted and Smog for a more subdued, nude look. The palette itself has a nice size mirror with the design wrapping around the entire palette and making it’s way inside. It’s a sturdy palette and with a funky design that’s fitting for Urban Decay’s image. Including the mini primer potion and 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero (black) is a great little extra bonus to the inexpensive $30 price tag.
Overall, if you’re an fan of the line you’re so going to want to pick up the Urban Decay Show Pony Shadow Box or if you’re looking for a perfect gift a make up lover this is sure to please. The exclusive shades of shadow make it noticeably more appealing for me particularly because Snatch is quite a unique shade of peachy pink.
All in all a rather fab early start to my Holiday season!
Loves it! Total Muse Approval for purchase.
