American Beauty Luxury Lids Eye Shadow Duo Review

It’s so VERY Fall. Wait, hold it. Actually it feels like blooming Winter. It’s cold. But I’m in Fall mode regardless of the cold weather. Fact is I wanted to go all festive Fall-like with my eye look this morning so I dragged out the American Beauty bits I got from the Summer Collection and proceeded to go to work.

Even though they are friendly Summer finds you can still them at Kohls.

Check ’em after the jump!

Didja know that American Beauty is actually part of the Estee Lauder Group? Cool beans right?

Anyways.

For Summer they were pimping out the American Beauty Luxury Lids Eye Shadow Duo in Sunny Honey and the American Beauty Pretty Glossy Luscious LipShine in Peach Freeze. Honestly, these are awesome for Fall too in my humblest so I figured why not this morning. An over abundance of Summer Collections had me forgetting to review these guys during the warmer months but hey I can get my use in the Fall too.

Count me impressed because I really wasn’t so sure about the shadow duo. American Beauty Luxury Lids Eye Shadow Duo in Sunny Honey is made up of two contrasting shades of the sun. One side has a sunny creamy peach shade and the other a deeper bronze copper shade. For my look below I used the peach as a prep and the deeper shade to contrast on my crease. I was quite delighted with the formula as it’s silky smooth and applies rather flawlessly with decent color pay off. I liked the very fancy, hard shelled compact as well with the full size mirror. Good presentation on these for the $15 buck price tag.

Although the American Beauty Pretty Glossy Luscious LipShine left a nice color on my lips I wasn’t partial to it. The formula is a tad dry and doesn’t leave behind a glossy sheen. It’s more of a lip cream in my humblest. But it did have decent pigmentation and it went super well with the shadow duo so I’m not complaining over much.

Overall, some decent findings from the American Beauty Collection. I think Sunny Honey is worthy of a swatch and possible pick up. Loved this one for Fall but bet it’ll be even better for the warm weather when it finally rears it’s head again after a long hard Winter.

Really pretty- but it looks a LOT like Clinique Twice the Spice or Starstruck/Golden Lynx. Not too surprising, since they’re both EL-owned. You really liked that rose-shaped blush they put out for American Beauty, didn’t you? I saw them all on clearance last week…hmm..
