Beauty News: Prescriptives Holiday Collection 2009

Prescriptives Holiday 2009 1111

Prescriptives goes out with one last big hooray!  Many of you emailed and asked me if the Prescriptives Holiday Collection 2009 would be available for purchase.  I wasn’t certain at the time but good news, Nordstrom has it up and available for purchase and I imagine the Prescriptives site and your local counters will launch shortly as well.

Jump for it!

The collection consists of two new face and eye palettes plus a few prepack gifts which focus on eyes, fragrance, etc…..the palettes have my attention at the moment. It doesn’t surprise me that Holiday is up and out as brands normally have info for collections months and months in advance.

I am so sad that EL has decided to discontine Prescriptives. This was the only line that could match my Blue/Red, pale cool toned skin. I have already ordered this set. Doesn’t matter that I have two other holiday PX palettes. This will be my last chance. Both of these are great sets. Have you heard if EL will add any of the PX line to existing lines? I understand the perfume will still be around but I want foundation!!

suzy you’re not the only one. many folk are very sad about the demise and have found HG in the foundations and concealers :( I hadn’t heard anything about them adding the foundation to other lines but if I do I promise to post. The perfume def will be around but sadly all else seems to be a go. :(

I doubt if I will be purchasing from any of the remaining Estee Lauder lines. Yes, I’m that pissed!! The phone number on the PX website to call if you had any concerns about the closing didn’t work for the first couple weeks after the announcement. It may still not be working now!! I had to track down the corporate number to voice my dissatisfaction. According to the woman I talked to there have been numerous calls. She asked if I was a Blue/Red as those women seemed to be calling more. Since that’s the case, why don’t other lines compensate for the obvious lack of foundation colors? I’m sure ladies with darker skin tones have the same issues as us with pale skin. I just wonder how well Clinique and EL would do if they discontinued the GWP. I firmly believe that’s what keeps those two lines afloat. They get the majority of the advertising dollars too!! How often did you see an ad for PX?

      hi suzy

sorry for the delayed reply. aw sorry to hear this. :( I’d be feeling the same way if they suddenly axed my fav foundation/concealer combo. Sigh. I like the color cosmetics from the line and find it a true shame it’ll be gone for good soon :( perhaps if enough people call in as you did they’ll feel a need to keep the line!!!!!!!

I’m really lemming the warm eye palate- Muse, will you be reviewing this in the future. I have never used Perscriptives- are the colors pretty vibrant?

I hope too Anna! I’m lemming the warm :-D I’ll do my best….I have a few other items taking primary control of my wish list but will try to get swatches/review for you! I don’t really know how vibrant they are as haven’t been to a counter but I imagine they’ll be lovely as most prescriptives shadows are nice :-D

        Hey Muse,
I caved *sigh* I am so addicted to make-up. I love the warm set – I use it daily. The Green shade (Sage) seems to be less pigmented than the other colors , but still quite lovely and the zipper- wallet is a plus. Of course now I’m lemming the cool set- I’m trying not to worry that once used up I cant refill the palatte.
Thanks for the heads up on these sets- without the Muse I would never have considered Perscriptives.
