Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara Review

This Muse is going to party like it’s 1999 with the new Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara.  Is it just me or is that like the coolest name ever?  You whip it out of the purse and tell your best mate, “Heys, just let me get some of my Extreme Party Mascara on before we go out!”  Is that too corny?

Ok, well fact is I adore the name.

Question is do I adore the mascara?

Jump for it!

I always feel terribly guilty when I don’t like something that Bobbi puts out. It’s like I’m dissing on my best friend. I’m sorry Bobbi don’t be upset but I really don’t dig on your Extreme Party Mascara.

Here’s the deal, all you folks in Internet-land that like softer, fuller, more natural looking lashes will absolutely adore Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara. It creates full lashes, has a rich black formula that’s almost gel-like in consistency, and does deliver plenty of lenght. It doesn’t fade, flake, or smudge and it has a rather nice full, bushy brush for application.

The results after use aren’t as dramatic as the name. I mean hello Extreme Party I was thinking awe aspiring lashes. But that’s not the case. It creates a softer, fuller, natural curl minus drama of any kind. Weird as the formula is quite rich so I expected a bit more of insane curling action and dramatic, crazy looking lashes.

If you love a softer more natural curl you’ll absolutely adore this. However, if you’re looking to bring the drama you might want to skip it as I didn’t really get the full on party experience from it.

Likes it, doesn’t loves it.

Anyone try yet?

Dang, I was really hoping for a party in the tube. Is this after one coat or multiple?

Hmm… kinda boring, I think. See, I prefer wicked lashes ALL the time, even in the daytime at work, so this certainly wouldn’t be something I’d pick for a night out. I probably won’t even get it for a day in….

ditto Jen! Love me some dramatic lashes :-D

THAT’S IT?????? Is that supposed to be Extreme Party????? You know Bobbi, party is about volume and fake lashes….and something with “extreme” label should top it off!!!!

Bleah…this is exactly the typical everyday use nude lashes mascara I’d never spend my money on T_T

lol Mary! I tried it again this morning but still it’s a soft look. Just wasn’t feeling the extreme or the part in this one :-D

hey mary.

Just wasn’t too impressed with this one. I’m sure if anyone who likes softer lashes would love it but for me it was a meh :)

Great review! At least I know I won’t try this one out. I like lashes that almost look like faux lashes. It sounded like it would, but clearly it is not.

I’m the same way Christy, I like alot of drama. It’s a weird name…I tried it again today in hopes I’d have different results but about the same…very soft curl.

The mascara looks great on you but I was hoping it’d give a more dramatic look.

I came across this site looking for reviews on this mascara. Only because I wondered if it was only me that was not impressed. I bought it and thought the same as you. ‘That’s it?’ I could of gotten that with a cheap drugstore brand. The upside is YES you can apply another coat in the evening and the previous coat ‘reactivates’ or whatever and you can apply more before you go out. Not a priority for me really. And I found it did flake initially, but once it dried not too bad.
Thanks for the review. Glad I’m not the only one who thinks this one didn’t quite work out.

Do you think this mascara is oil based or water based? I have lash extensions, if it gives off the natural look you say, it might be perfect for what I have on my lashes. Except, I can only use water based mascaras.

umm not sure mesha I’m sorry. Wish I knew. I honestly don’t know if it’s oil or water based. If I find out will def post :)
