Covergirl Lashblast Length Review

With all the hype and the craze that surrounds the regular CoverGirl LashBlast I thought it was about time I tried it out for myself. Of course, when it’s over hyped that typically means it’ll turn out to be somewhat rubbish.

Covergirl Lashblast Length 1

CoverGirl LashBlast Length being the newest mascara in the range was the one I opted to reach for first try.

Jump ahead to see if it lived up to my expectations.

Guess I can’t rant too much because indeed it gives great lenght however not the type of lenght I like. It’s more of a natural, softer look without curling lashes upwards or creating a fuller look.

The applicator is a plastic, straight line “brush”. The formula itself doesn’t appear to be anything special from what I can tell but it is very light. I suppose if you like a lighter formula that won’t break lashes off this could be considered great.

Covergirl Lashblast Length 3

Overall, I just didn’t find anything special or incredible about CoverGirl Lashblast Length. Although the price is quite nice at around under $8 or so, I simply couldn’t get on board with such a boring mascara. My lashes were longer yes but I’m not partial to longer lashes minus curl, volume, and a bit of a dramatic look. This leaves lashes more natural and softer….if you like these type of results I’m positive Covergirl Lashblast Length is exactly what you seek. If you happen to be like the Muse and enjoy a little drama with your lash look, I’d skip. For me it’s another case of a disappointing product that’s way too over hyped.

It does not do anything for your lashes at all! Thank to your review, I am not going to waste money on this. The original LashBlast is great, though.

    • the Muse

haven’t tried the original Dao but this was a no go for me 😛 Prefer more dramatic lashes and this didn’t do it for me.

  • Marley

Agreed. I love the original Lashblast for thick, full lashes, but Lash Blast Length gave me the “natural look”. And I am most decidedly NOT a natural gal. I used L’Oreal Lash Architect in the late 90’s as a teen, piling on about a million coats to get the fakest, Tammy-Fayest lashes ever. This mascara to me = FAIL.

    • the Muse

ha marley same same here…I like more dramatic lashes…I guess if soft and natural is your thing it’ll be a good haul but I love drama 😀 in regards to lashes. and this def doesn’t do that for me!

  • Helena

I also got excited about the hype surrounding this mascara, bought it and was impressed with how beautiful natural lashes could look. I usually prefer a more dramatic look, but found this to work on creating that effortless, just rolled out of bed, beautiful look.

    • the Muse

      hi helena!

agreed it does do a good natural softer look but it was a tad boring for me 😛 I like a bit more drama 😀

  • Heather

I love the original lash blast formula! I was so excited to try the lengthening one when it came out.
I used it once, haha. It didn’t do anything for me. I thought the whole idea behind lash blast was dramatic lashes. :\ They really dropped the ball with this one, imo.

    • the Muse

glad I’m not alone Heater 😀 I tossed it in the trash…bit of a waste but I can’t return it and I can’t give it away (kinda gross). Like you I probably won’t make use of it so it’s senseless to keep 🙁

  • Marloes

Thanks for reviewing this, I was curious about this mascara. Now I know I can skip it.

    ‘Cause mama likes her drama.

length is the factor i always want in my mascara, (and i like the natural look more often than a voluminous look) so i’ll prolly pick this up next time one of mine runs out. however if it’s drama you want then try the regular Lash Blast. i was prepared to hate it and ended up falling in love- volume, pigmentation, some length, some curl….check check check check! it’s a bit hard to remove fully but it’s like a one-stop shop for my lashes. don’t let this one prevent you from trying it.

    • the Muse

laura you’ll love this than dear! 😀 I’ll def snag the other on your recommendation! Thanks!

  • Mollie

I just can’t bring myself to try Lash Blast, or use Cover Girl, because they test on animals. =( I’m still totally intrigued by the original Lash Blast, because my friends swear by it and my aunt, who’s been a MUA for a long time, recently converted to it. LOL. Seems like an awesome formula… but yeah…

Don’t worry, I’m not that crazy- but it’s just my personal vendetta. I’m not gonna like freak out at everyone here for using it, haha.

    • the Muse

aw mollie valid points. I admit I sometimes don’t pay attention this these things 🙁 Naaa you’re totally awesome for taking note…more of us should!

      • Mollie

I’m super anal about it, but unfortunately sometimes avoiding animal testing companies gets a bit ridiculous (and expensive). Which it shouldn’t be, but that’s not going to change any time soon.

        • the Muse

aw sorry mollie 🙁 It is kinda hard finding good solid brands that aren’t testing on animals 😀 You have Urban Decay though 😀

  • Hailey

My lashes are stick straight and I love a dramatic look.
Could you recommend a couple mascaras that would make a good dramatic look for me (preferably one that makes lashes longer and seperates).
    Thanks alot!

  • Christy

I totally agree. The only good thing about this is that the brush is an amazing lash comb! lol it didn’t lengthen my lashes and took away the curl too.. 🙁 I was disappointed after the 80% length claims!!!

    • the Muse

aw sorry christy! sigh. lashblast and me seem to never get on well le sigh!

  • donna

i thought this mascara was pretty awful. did nothing at all for my eyes and was a lot of work to use. the regular lash blast is great though. why screw up a good thing?

  • Sandra

i have this mascara and have been using it for a while. i do like it. i’m one for soft, long lashes. i also like that “im not wearing mascara” look, while wearing mascara. i wish it would give a darker black and more drama as well, but i don’t feel it is a total fail.

  • Elle

this is a good mascara for a natural look. i like having it in brown for when i dont want a dramatic look, like i usually go for.

  • Aja

I just recently bought this and I HATE IT!!!!! I’m going back to stiletto lash!

  • TheBeautySource

Thanks! I bought this mascara thanks to this review since I’m more of a natural person looking for things to wear to school without sticking out. I actually like it. I also bought the original last blast, and the last blast length and original make a great combination for volume, AND length! I only use it for special occasions though. Have you tried\ them both?

    • the Muse

hi beautysource glad to hear you’re enjoying it 😀

I have but not really keen on them to be honest 😛
