Hard Candy Photos

hard candy walmart 1111

Hey guys!

I got a press kit a few days ago for the entire Hard Candy Collection available now at Walmart. I haven’t been over to Walmart as of yet to take a peep…you know the Muse you have to drag her to that place kicking and screaming. Anyway like I said haven’t had a look at the items yet but whoa…after seeing the photos I was kicked over. It’s a HUGE selection of stuff. I think the line is actually bigger now that it’s at Walmart than it was when Hard Candy was a brand all it’s own.

From the looks of it they have over 25 items in a huge array of colors. They even have baked shadows and blushes now! The prices are $6 to $8 bucks each…so cheap. I’m very eager to try out some of it. I got a few items to test out but I want to head to the evil empire and snag some more as truly some bits look incredibly good. I felt like the line was actually more appealing now than it was prior to the merger.

Some folk may feel it’s a bit teen-ish but I thought they did a great job revamping it.

Anyway. ‘Nuff babble from me. Check out some pictures after the jump!

As you can see the items look quite quality. They really covered just about everything including tinted moisturizers, primers, concealers, lipsticks, glosses, stains, shadows….and the list goes on and on. Some items are a bit tween such as the glitter cream eye shadows but other items hold a real appeal like the baked shadow, blushes, and foundation.

I have to say I’m pretty impressed.

Anyone see it up close and personal?

Haul anything?

Think you will?

I can’t wait to hear what you think of everything! I also hope they make their way over to the UK soon. I’m sure Superdrug or Boots would happily house them.

    • the Muse

kirsty they look goodddddddd! I’m impressed. Sure do hope they make it your way too darlin’! btw that chip butty is sounding so good right now! 😀

  • Ashleigh

I bought one of the baked eyeshadows, one of the more neutral ones, and I use it every day. Loves it. They’re really pigmented and shimmery. I want to try the tinted moisturizer:)

    • the Muse

yay ashleigh thanks for the good word. jealous! I haven’t had a sec to see the blushes yet but I did get one baked shadow that’s very pretty 😀 I’m eager to try!

I went to check it out (also unwillingly as I can’t stand walmart)..and noticed that in one location they didn’t have the nail varnishes. At the location that did, there was a full array of items. The individual shadows (which slide open) were all very glittery and in person, I wasn’t super impressed with the varnishes. The baked shadows looked like they were v workable, & I hear there is a lipstick dupe for GOSH Darling. I used to love their old brow shadow/liner, so I wonder if one of their pencils is soft enough for that?

    • the Muse

      hey S&S!

I’m gonna make the trip sometime this weekend and have a look. I seen those and didn’t like…I believe those are cream…the baked looks fabs 😀 oh awesome on the gosh darling dupe!!! Hmm not sure…but it’s worthy of a try as it’s really cheap!

I can’t wait until I can find a Walmart that carries Hard Candy. Your pix look pretty 😉

I am somewhat excited about the nail polishes…but…

I don’t know. A part of me misses high end days of Hard Candy. It’s hard to see a brand I started with back in High School go from high to the shelves of Walmart.

I remember how excited I was when I bought my first bottles of Hard Candy nail polish (Sushi, a creamy teal) at the only place I could find it..a comic book store back in 1996. I remember how excited I was when Hard Candy came out with their eye shadow quads and drove 2 hours to Nordstrom to get myself Techno. It seems like since both Mohajer left, Hard Candy was never the same.

I am trying to muster the courage to actually go into a Walmart (I hate, HATE Walmart) to check out Hard Candy and give it a chance, but my heart isn’t into it.

*re-reads what she wrote* Damn, there is some cosmetic melodrama for you Muse lol.

*yes, my cosmetic snob is showing.

      hi mc

sorry for the delayed reply been a little swamped with comments 😀

I know…same feeling here sigh. I don’t like walmart either at all to be honest and have been putting off the trip to see this….! LOL melodramaz away because I’m a snob too and proud of it LOL!!!!!

  • casey

I walked around the corner and the HC literally glowed and the angels sang. I spent a good 30 minutes looking everything over. No testers, big bummer. I am going back tmo to get some more items.

    • the Muse

ha I know that feeling casey LOL!!!!!!!!! 😀 I hate no testers but it’s so cheap I’m trying not to mind 😀

  • jkim

hey muse! i checked these at at walmart last night. i was skeptical because it was walmart, but i couldn’t believe the quality of the makeup! the only thing was that, since it was walmart, many items had already been “sampled”, so i couldn’t buy a couple of things that i had my eye on. oh well.

    • the Muse

pretty impressive right jean? I’m interested to see myself. Gonna try to head in on Sunday. aw shat I hate when people do that 🙁 They do have them on walmart’s site but they ship for 97 cents each…not bad but it can add up if you get alot of items.

  • Nunu

Ok if nothing else, I need to get myself one of those nail polishes with the heart shaped plastic ring just for nostalgia sakes. Any clue on if they’ll have these in the Walmarts in Canada?
Those baked blushes DO look good……

    • the Muse

lol nunu I hear you! Not sure…I hadn’t heard of an international release but it’s worthy to check maybe so! 😀 I agree kinda mac-ish right?

  • Tohnia

hopefully the Wal-Mart’s that are close to me will carry it! Do you know if it was released in Canada? I will have to check tomorrow!

    • the Muse

Tohnia not that I know of hun but I imagine it might be considering Walmart just took the brand over I think!?!?!?

  • Dawnn

Wondered past the makeup aisle at Wal-Mart and saw the hard candy section about a month ago. OMG! I tried the 4pack of eye shadows perfect for everyday, lip balm is not very pigmented but not sticky very light hint of a pinky color. Plumping lipgolss didn’t really plump but no sticky burning feeling either, but great color and def better then Buxom which I had been using? The Primer is the best, I am an avid primer hunter and it rivals Mac for the smooth feeling, it’s the best primer I have tried in a really long time including spackle, B.E. primer, Smasxbox & MFE’s high def. and its $8.00…can’t beat that. The tinted mostizer is better than my Stile & Laura Mercer tinted moisteners as far as coverage and feel… and the best part? The nail polish is exactly the same! Over all totally impressed, we purchased the “eye tattoos ” but have yet to try them, also the lash tinisle and lip tattoo.

    • the Muse

fantastic dawn! damn girl thanks for the awesome review 😀 ha! I’m excited now! I’m really wanting to try the TM, as it would make great light coverage for the weekend 😀

  • Dawnn

completely forgot to mention the concealer pallet. the concealer pallet is AMAZING it comes with 3 traditional colors and also yellow, green and pink.
I am surprised they cover so well with how light they are. the yellow is the best think Benefit’s Lemon-Aid. pink is great as a “brighter, again think Benefit’s Eye Bright. it’s a great buy just for the yellow & pink alone @ $8

    • the Muse

ahhhhh awesome dawn! I seen the concealer palette reviewed on a friend’s youtube vid and I wanted one right away 😀

  • Rosemary

No walmarts by me have this, but I was thrilled to discover the website was selling the whole line this past week. I ordered (and received in the mail already) ten of the polishs, some of the liquid liners, one of the line pencils, and one of the glitter cream shadow/pencil sets. I’m wearing two of the polishes right now and am very pleased. I used to be a huge hard candy polish addict back in the day.

    • the Muse

yup Rosemary! It sure is! And 97 cents for shipping isn’t too bad 😀 that’s fab! good hauling 😀 I’m not much of a nail girl but even I appreciate the cuteness of the nail polishes 😀 enjoy hun!

  • Hailee

Ahhhh besides the cheap looking nail polishes, everything is so cute!! I too am a makeup snob and stick to sephora or nordstrom, but I might have to painfully drag myself to the Wally hold my breathe and run in and out with some hard candy. Haha!

  • Del

oooh Muse! another good reason to go to wally world…my friend introduced me to coconut M&M’s, which sounded kinda gross- till I ate one- oh YUM! it was like eating an Almond Joy without the almond…if only they could squeeze an almond in there…I digress…so they have these M&M’s at wally world & nowhere else I have looked (the regular DS’s I visit), so now that I have two good reasons to go to the evil empire, I think I can plan a trip there soon. Can’t wait for your review!

    • the Muse

      hey del!

coconut m&m’s!? really?! Interesting LOL I think I have to go to the empire just for the coconut m&m’s they sound nom, nom!

  • suka & spice

I did it…I caved and purchased a couple things… mind you, as I was reading your reviews!
