I know you’re all very, very excited about the release of the Sonia Kashuk Holiday Collection 2009 as I got dozens of e-mails requesting a review and asking when it’ll be in stores.

Here’s the deets.

I traveled through Target late Sunday night to pick up some last minute party stuff for Halloween and of course I hit up the makeup section. As of yet it hasn’t been updated with Holiday and as of last look it was displayed on Target’s site as having a 3-4 week wait prior to shipping. Good news is it’s available for shipping on Target when I checked today and a reader even said she got her stuff in the mail already plus you can get free shipping with your $50 purchase (don’t forget to shop around for coupons as Target has 10% ones hanging around), bad news is as of yet it’s not available in store from what I’ve seen but have no fear I imagine that situation will be redeemed very, very shortly.

Even better news is I have an early preview of the collection and I’m hear to say wow…elegant and inexpensive, unheard of right? But indeed Sonia managed to combine budget friendly options plus a beautiful air of elegance to each piece.

For my first review of the collection I’ll be showing you the brand new Sonia Kashuk Twist of Fate Brush Set.

Jump for it.

First off let me say it’s $19.99….yes…that’s $20 bucks for a gorgeous set of high quality brushes with beautiful, heavy silver handles, and a chic black sequin clutch. $20 bucks? Loves it! It’s an ideal and elegant gift for any makeup lover so go ahead be selfish, haul it for yourself, the Muse won’t judge.

The brushes all have a curved, twisting handle which isn’t only for showy design purposes. The twisted handle actually makes it fit the contour of your hand rather nicely for application. They are elegant pieces and good quality for the price. Bristles are soft and show no signs of shedding. It comes with the essentials which would be a foundation brush, smudge brush, eye shadow brush, dual ended lash/brow groomer, a fluffy powder blush brush, and a blending brush. That’s six brushes broken down to around $3.33 cents each not taking into consideration the beautiful clutch they come with.

The entire Holiday collection sports a black sequin design throughout each piece. This brush set comes with a chic medium size clutch in the same design. It’s a roomy clutch so you can tuck money, lipstick, your compact, mirror, keys, or any other small bits inside for an evening out. The clutch itself is worth the $20 buck price tag so it’s like you get the added benefit of six brushes along with it.

Overall, I’m very impressed with the entire set. I love it and will be hauling at least four more for various smaller gift options. I always like to have a hostess gift handy when I am making my way around Holiday parties and these are ideal for just that or even as a backup gift if I forget someone on my list or someone unexpectedly surprises me with a present. I admit I’m selfish and adore it for myself but honestly it makes an ideal gift idea as well especially since it looks like it’s going to be another year of budgeting our Holidays and looking for ways to save.

Fantastic buy, Muse Approval for purchase.

You need at least one for yourself and one for friends or family.

Loves it, such an incredible value!

I’m a bit afraid of the handles – how well do they hold up against fingerprints?

not good cc. def will get fingerprints on them but you can just polish them with a piece of cotton after use :)

Oh goodie, this is great! I have three SK brushes, one has been around for 6-7 years and they are seriously durable. It’s good to know she has a nice winter collection out soon.
