Avon U by Ungaro Color Collection Review and Swatches
The new Avon U by Ungaro Collection is up and available for your purchasing pleasure at shop.avon.com.
Avon continues to create higher end collections, this latest launch being probably one of the more expensive ones I’ve seen to date. With a price tag of $20 on some items this could be a surprising turn of events for those who are used to paying under $10 for their Avon. Bringing a high end price tag to their cosmetics does also have it’s perks in the fact that quality is incredibly good as well as the presentation and packaging of the items on offer.
As for this Muse she’s quite liking the new U by Ungaro Color Collection.
Jump to hear the good word.
Avon continues to shock me as it ventures into interesting waters as of late. Introducing more high ends items than ever before this truly isn’t what you’re used to from years past. The U by Ungaro Collection is yet another example of fine cosmetics from Avon. A few years ago I’d have leaned towards being not interested in much of what Avon offered but as of late I admit to becoming a real fan.
I got a chance to try out some of the collection and must say I was pretty impressed. The packaging is quite nice with a maroonish pink design and the U emblem displayed several times across the eye and cheek palette. The lipstick packaging is fun with a ribbon pull on the tube. All the pieces are quite nice in presentation.
The quality of each item also matches up with their packaging as each piece is pigmented and the formula is lovely. U by Ungaro Face Powder ($20) is my favorite of the items. At first glance I did think this would be a simple face shimmer and highlighter but actually it quite works as a blush. It’s available in a warm and a cool shade. The color I tried was the cooler, Runway Pink, which is made up of a deep pink in a U design emblem and a surround base of beige pink. The powder works as a blush and gives cheeks a hint of shimmer with a nice color of pink.
I tried two of the three shades of U by Ungaro Eyeshadow ($13) which were Runway Pink (lilac-y pink) and Champagne. Champagne is my favorite of the two as it’s a pretty shimmery golden color. The shadows are all nicely pigmented and have a softer, subtle finish on lids with a shimmery finish almost frosty.
And finally U by Ungaro Lip Color is available in three shades and the cheapest of the collection at a price of $10 each. I tried one shade which was Glam. Glam is a fun fuchsia-like shade which pairs well with other colors in the collection.
For my look below I’m using U by Ungaro Lip Color in Glam, U by Ungaro Eyeshadow in Champagne, and U by Ungaro Face Powder in Runway Pink.
Overall, the collection has some keeper items that I was very pleased with. I was particularly delighted with the Champagne eye shadow and gorgeous face powder which doubled up beautifully as a blush. The colors all create a soft, sensual look that isn’t overly done but just sophisticated enough to work in the evening or the day. It’s probably one of the best color collections I’ve seen to date from Avon. As Avon grows up further I look forward to seeing more collections rise up that are as beautiful and affordable as the U by Ungaro Color Collection.
Likey very much!
