Laura Geller Glow Box Review and Swatches

Damn it Laura why do you do this to me? You know I can’t resist cute packaging! The new Laura Geller Glow Box (or as I misspelled it earlier, the Blow Box, who knows where my head is) is a dynamite duo of Laura Geller Baked Radiance Face Powder with a Highlighting Powder. Gotta love makeup that comes in baby pink packaging with a stealthy little draw that hides away a cute little flat brush for application!

Loves it!

Check it after the jump!

My main beef with the Laura Geller Baby Cake Palette was it’s lack of pigmentation and crummy packaging with causes a bit of crazy dusty kick up. The Glow Box suffers pretty much the same woeful packaging but it succeeds in the color pay off department.

The Glow Box is made up of two shades of color in a flip style design with a pull out draw. It has a good size full mirror and the brush is a large flat style which makes application snappy and easy. I did feel the powders were almost reversed in what they should be used for as it comes with a Radiance Face Powder and a Highlighter. I felt like the Radiance Powder actually made a better highlighter, role reversal here. The Baked Radiance Face Powder is the larger of the two and a pale shimmery pink shade. It has enough pigmentation to give a delicate slip of pink to cheeks and face, very flattering really and quite natural and fresh. Now the highlighting powder is the smaller of the two and…I dunno…I’m puzzled as I thought it would be shimmery maybe frosty in finish as this is normally the route highlighting powders take. This is actually a chalky formula and pretty much works as a finishing powder would in my humble opinion. The texture quite reminds me Laura Geller Balance n Brighten Powder. I’m not complaining mind you as I like how the powder works at making my dull skin look brighter and happier but I did find it weird that it was labeled as a highlighter.

One minor rant…..

The packaging is adorable however it causes a major mess during application. The brush itself kicks up alot of fall out around the box of the palette and it’s just general loose powder flying all over the place. Grrrr hate this. Aside from that the palette is quite gorgeous!

Overall, if you like a fresher, more natural look or just want something for quickie touch ups throughout the day to make your tired skin look lively once again I recommend picking up the Glow Box. I’m actually quite delighted with it. All in all another fine (and cute) box of joy from Laura Geller.

Loves it!

Worthy of a look at in my opinion, particularly if you’re a lover of Laura Geller makeup!

Several years ago, I ordered the blush which was baked, and contained several colors for a natural matte finish. It came in a black round container. No fly-away for this product and would like to order it again. I still have plenty left and use my own Sable brush, however the top fell off and because I have other things in my make-up bag, without the top on the case, other things rub against it, it does make a mess. Do you sell the baked products, and how can I order?
