Ok, knock off a few things here. No shimmer and forget subtle. Loving you Lipstick Queen Butterfly Ball but you don’t have any shimmer that I’ve seen so far but never you mind, you’re perfect in all ways.
Ok, I imagine you want to know the different between Saint, Sinner, and Butterfly Ball. Butterfly Ball like it’s name, “butterfly”, is a very light, airy formula that’s highly moisturizing and glides onto lips with a lightweight feel. Saint and Sinner have a richer formula when compared to this in texture but in pigmentation all three are about the same. The formula is very rich in pigment which is a fact for all Lipstick Queen products, this in my opinion, is one reason the line is so very popular. You can compare the formula to Medieval as it’s very light and very emollient however the pigmentation is extreme. You get a heavy shot of bright, bold color which of course you do not get from Medieval. The formula is beautifully wet and moist so it wears very well without drying out lips.
What makes Butterfly Ball different from lipsticks in the line is a hint of turquoise shimmer which when the light hits it will flatter teeth and make them appear brighter. Mmmm I’m not really sure if this works or not. Benefit had a gloss that did the same thing but I can never tell if it’s actually working as my teeth are all kinds of stupid white already because I’m obsessed with their proper care. But…I like the idea.
Really what appeals to me most is the moisturizing formula, pretty purple tube packaging, and range of colors that lean more towards reds and pinks. I tried out two shades which were Fly and Moment. Fly is a pretty shade of deeper rose pink and Moment is a deep red. Although I don’t see it much in Fly I noticed the blue accent in Moment as it gives off an iridescent glittering effect.
All in all these are probably my favorite lipstick to date from Lipstick Queen as I’m really loving the moisturizing formula and easy wear. The colors are vibrant and bold which adds a certain regalness to makeup looks. If you found prior formulas from the line a bit drying I highly suggest trying Lipstick Queen Butterfly Ball.
Lipstick Queen Butterfly Ball a worthy contender in my lipstick world at the moment. Beautiful lipstick and worthy of a haul. Muse Approval for purchase.
