L’Oreal HIP Jelly Balm Review and Swatches

L'Oreal HIP Jelly Balm 9

Loving you L’Oreal HIP Jelly Balm for super glossy lips on the cheap. MAC Tendertones are nice but I never fell completely in love with them, after discovering L’Oreal HIP Jelly Balms I’d say that any love or like I had for MAC Tendertones is overs, these are WAY better (and cheaper too)!

Jump for it.

Considering HIP stands for High Intensity Pigment I’d say it delivers on this deal. Jelly Balm are quite nicely pigmented with a beautifully glossy formula and a comfortable wear on lips plus a friendly price tag make them a total Muse Approval for purchase.

Loves ’em!

Much like MAC Tendertones these come in a heavy glass jar and are a soothing balm-like treatment for lips. I like to think of them as a gloss in a jar as they have a high glossy finish with a nice color payoff. The fact you have to dip in to apply could sway people as believe me I totally understand that germy-phobe feel when it comes to touching product however I’m choosing to disregard this and just enjoy the incredible formula. The formula not only leaves lips with a nice pop of color and a glossy finish but also sports a fruity, sweet taste.

Jelly Balm versus Tendertone

It deserves to be mentioned I’m not keen on balms aside from Rosebud Salve. I’m not really all that interested in applying a balm on my lips unless I have chapped lips aside from this it’s rare I reach for a balm of any kind. I’m not sure if they could be deemed as a balm as they are more of a glossy treat for lips.

I tried out two colors but there are a total of six, which will definitely be hauled shortly by yours truly. The two shades I tried were Savory and Luscious. Savory was a true peach and Luscious, the pigmented of the two, is a berry wine shade.

Overall, I have to say these are a total winner for me. The inexpensive price tag definitely appeals but the incredible formula is really what captures and holds my interest. I love how they glide onto my lips and leave behind a glossy, natural hint of gloss.

Love! I have Plush, which is sort of a baby pink and I love everything about it…texture, scent, hint of color! I really want Savory one now too! Is it pigmented enough to see when its on?

The only downside is my horrible laziness of “well I could either *swipe* on something or put my finger in something, which means I gotta wash my hands”…Swiping almost always wins!

      Hey Lisa.

I want plush as soon as possible it looks gorg! Savory has enough of a tint to look peachy on the lips also try adding a little bit of stain under it if you have a peach stain and it’ll pop really nicely 😀 if you want you can also layer up and you should see a good hint of color!

I KNOW!!!!!!! omg I know. I’m the same, I’m so anal that it’s a process and I have to wash my hands before touching it! yak!

The jar for these look identical both a Missha and a Etude (not Etude House) tinted lip balm that I’ve hauled. Both balms are great dupes for Tendertones (they’re on my very long list to review) so whilst we don’t get L’Oreal HIP in Korea I think we’re well served. Luscious looks gorgeous on you.

I have been in love with these glosses since I discovered them a few months ago. They are perfect!

I was going to add Luscious to my collection of two other colors a few days ago but I wasn’t quite daring enough to buy such a dark-looking shade. Now I’ll definitely buy it, thanks!

      hey michelin!

I overlooked these for ages! Now I’m an absolute lover! Oh no do try out luscious I think you’ll like it, it looks a bit dark in the pot but it goes on a nice shade of natural berry pink! 😀

      My pleasure!

Nooo these were one of my favorite glosses and now they are discontinued! 🙁 Do you have any idea where I might find a similar product? I loved this product…it’s a shame I didn’t think to get backups…

I just realized that the jars to these are the same ones used by L’Oreal’s other company – Maybelline Tattoo shadows. I do like those jars and reuse mine for DIY lip balms.
