Anyone try out the new Maybelline Great Lash Big Mascara? I snagged one for under $5 bucks and I likey so far. I mean it’s not going to change my mascara world but for the price I’d say, oh hello not bad at all.

Maybelline Great Lash Big Mascara 1

Jump!

Count me impressed, it’s pretty good and worthy of a haul. I’d grab it if I were you. I’ve never tried Maybelline Great Lash nor have I really wanted to bother but I got on board with Maybelline Great Lash BIG Mascara after seeing it’s big old bushy applicator. Now I don’t normally like this style of applicator but I was sitting in the store, head tilted, thinking, gee, looks ok.

So….

Here I am.

Pride owner of a tube of Maybelline Great Lash BIG Mascara and quite happy and proud of myself.

Maybelline Great Lash Big Mascara 3

Formula isn’t anything to write home about nor is the brush as I’m not impressed by big old, oh my god I might poke my eye out brushes but it does exactly what it promises. Big lashes, thicker ones, longer, and pretty dramatic results. The look is definitely softer and more natural, the Muse prefers her lashes all stiff and blacker than black however I can’t really deny that the results were impressive. The formula is pretty much standard so I’m unresolved if it’s the mascara formula or the applicator that’s creating the great results but whatever the case may be the results are there as my pictures below show.

Maybelline Great Lash Big 2

Honestly, if you’re looking for a cheaper mascara and aren’t willing to shell out twenty or more bucks on one at the moment I’d suggest snagging one of these. It performs well and does deliver on longer, fatter, thicker lashes.

I like it.

Not a love by any means but definitely a likey!

Anyone try?

What do you think?

Seriously Musey….Great Lash??…fo reals? The original one was nothing but hype I tell ya. It makes ur lashes blacker…n that’s it. This one doesn’t look too bad I guess, but I can’t get past Maybelline mascara’s horrid smell, I swear I can smell it throughout the day!
Why can’t they bring back Maxfactor??!!!WHY?!MF’s 2000 Calorie was my drugstore HG!!!

It’s Japanese drugstore, there’s an exception for that somewhere in the Muse disclaimer xD.

I’m one of the haters of the original Great Lash, mostly for the disppointment I felt when I got my hands on it. Back in the day (early 90s) Maybelline was not available in the UK and magazine editors and make-up artists alike used to rave and rave about Great Lash. I was desperate to get my hands on it, it had all the marks of a great cult beauty buy, made more attractive by the fact it wasn’t readily available. Luckily I had friends who were able to snag me some on a stateside trip (along with a bottle of cK one and Carmex lipbalm which were also unavailable in the UK at the time). Meh. The thin watery formula made no impact at all on my lashes, and I was sorely sorely disappointded. I kept it in my make-up bag purely for bragging rights at school.

DESPITE THAT, I really really wanna try Great Lash Big because I do love me a big brush and I’ve been very impressed with Maybelline “The Colossal” Volume Express and Full & Soft so I know Maybelline can get it right. Also, I still love the packaging of the pink and green tube.

LOL bragging rights at school eh? :-D I’m not all for the packaging but I must say it performs incredibly well and I actually like colossal myself :-D

So total scorage!

Hi Muse! I quite liked this mascara. I have been using it for a while now. It is much better than the original great lash. I think its all just the brush though.

laura I never tried great lash I never believed the hype it always looked cheap as hell to me :-D This is good, it’s NOT going to change your mascara world but it’s decent especially b/c of the price :)

I’ve definitely bought my fair share of Great Lash over the years (mainly due to the beauty magazine hype, LOL), but in all honesty my favorite was Origins. I recently decided to check out Kiehl’s mascara. I like it, but I don’t *love* it.

Hiya Muse,

Darn Nylon Magazine convincing me the green and pick tube was considered “very Andy Warhol pop”. I’m all about big ole’ lashes, but this gave me crazy raccoon eyes. I don’t understand the hype. Honestly, my go too drugstore mascara, is Maybelline’s Full and Soft Waterproof. It does a lovely job and it stays put, like a good mascara should!

warhol pop!? LOL oh noes smirking that’s far off but fun LOL! I haven’t tried Full and Soft to be honest but sounds nice!!!!! I’m really out of the loop with drugstore mascaras I fear, I really need to explore further :-D

…I don’ t know if I can bring myself to try it. I utterly hate Great Lash. Overrated and not good….but your review swayed me a little..just a little.

We’ll see..I am having fun playing with Too Faced Lash Light at the moment. XD
