Would You Buy It? La Mer Holiday 2009 Gifts

La Mer Holiday Collection 2009 19121

Dear Santa,

I read somewhere that J-Lo smears La Mer Moisturizer all over her body like it doesn’t cost crazy money. So this year I’d love it very much if you could maybe help me win the lotto as I want to be just like J-Lo when I grow up as I’m all about smearing La Mer all over my body and hey since it’s lottery money I’d smear my dog in it too and get a few gifts to throw at family and friends.

k, thanks.

Love,
the Muse

P.S. If you heard anything about me being naughty this year, that’s bull, I am always SO nice, for serious, I am.

P.S.S. By the way I WILL tell the Missus all about you kissing mommy under the mistletoe if La Mer fails to be found under my tree.

Jump for the La Mer Holiday 2009 Gift Collection and tell the Muse, Would you buy it?

My answer…

Yup, I’d be on it if I had the greenback to cover me. I’ve actually come across some HG (holy grail) products from La Mer, I just wish I had more money to splurge on ’em. Such as the eye cream? Ummm hello bestest eye cream ever…! And the concealer? Loves it! And…and…you get the point.

Every year their Holiday Collection makes me drool myself as I point and stutter, I swear I want a stocking full of $$$ this year so I can indulge.

Here’s the deets!

  • La Mer The Connoisseur Collection ($395)

Includes Creme de La Mer, The Lifting Face Serum, and The Eye Concentrate housed in a festive keepsake box.

La Mer Holiday Collection 2009 15551

  • La Mer The Signature Collection ($240)

Travel Sizes of Creme de La Mer, The Lifting Face Serum, and The Eye Concentrate, housed in a gift box, ready for giving!

La Mer Holiday Collection 2009 151

  • La Mer Legendary Luxury ($1390)

16.5 oz (This must be what J-Lo is using to rub all over her body) of Creme de La Mer housed in a elegant green box with chrome detail lid. This is the super size version we all want but most of can’t have unless Santa comes through on that lotto ticket!

La Mer Holiday Collection 2009 1121

Honestly ever year I tell myself that I want to indulge in the La Mer The Connoisseur Collection but I can’t see myself spending that much. I’ve tried to live without the eye cream but damn it’s difficult, le sigh!

Overall, La Mer Holiday 2009 will probably appeal to those of use who either love the luxury or have enough money for a good size splurge. I’ll dish the $400 one day but probably not today.

What about you?

Would you buy anything?

Have any La Mer favs?

Don’t really dig the line?

Every time I see La Mer’s price tags, I laugh. I really don’t feel like there’s anything they can do for me that’s worth that much money. That said, if I won the lotto would I sample some of their stuff? Hell to the yes! Me and my dog would rock that stuff HARD.

What type of doggy do you have?

    • the Muse

hey chelsea! LOL!!!! I’m laughing b/c my dog would be rocking it too. Some of their products are true HG I just can’t afford to buy them as much as I’d like 😀

      Two chihuahuas! 🙂

Don’t really rate their skincare so much but love their make-up: foundation, loose powder, compact foundation and lipbalm. The concealer is next on my list to try. I do think that for something so expensive, they should make more of an effort to make their packaging airtight to protect the active ingredients. I know it’s hard because the cream’s really thick, but come on, they claim to have NASA scientists developing the stuff so surely they can get inventive??

MAN!! I seriously love La Mer but then it costs a bomb to get a tiny jar here… people here are selling the sample sized jar for almost RM100!! but then it’s heaven!! I love the gel based one… it smells heavenly! The texture is amazing, and I sososoos absolutely love it… heck, it will be the first thing I’ll buy with my very first paycheck! =)

    • the Muse

lol yuki! I hear hat! It’s SOOOOOOOOO great. I’m a big fan of the eye balm. RM100? omg. sheesh!!!!!!!! I try to pacify myself by indulging in the powder, cosmetics, etc…as those are a little cheaper than the skincare!

      🙂

I got a sample of La Mer at a counter one time over a year ago and still use it a little bit at a time when I need a pick me up and to feel “rich” and “special”. I am not sure if it really does work but I would love to be an owner of the set and find out! I don’t think you can really know if a product works by using a dab every few months 🙂

    • the Muse

jean believe me you KNOW haha! I have been using tiny samples of the eye balm for ages and dude omg seriously best eye cream ever. but I hate how hooked I am as I really can’t afford to dish for it every few months since it’s such a tiny size 🙁 sigh…I should have been born rich…WHY god WHY! haha! One day I promise myself I will indulge in a full size 😀

  • Marloes

    *gasp*
    That’s a lot of money.

Nope, I would never spend this much money on beauty products. I love nice stuff, but this is too much. And besides, the only thing that makes you pretty is loving yourself, which costs nothing, right?

Man, I sound like a mom. (Oh wait, I AM a mom!)

But do you think this is how J-Lo gets that booty? I don’t have a booty. I’ve got a whole lot of nothing behind there… so hmmmm… maybe when I win the lottery…. but I’d want proof first!

  • j3nn4

No way I’d buy this, I’ve tried the testers and was gonna go for it until I saw that Boots have done proper clinical trials on their protect & perfect serum…and it was PROVEN to work! So I now have pretty much every cream in the range 🙂 But I have to haul it around with me everywhere I go now… I’d like to try the La Mer eye cream though as it sounds so good. If I won the lottery I’d buy some for sure!

    • the Muse

ha awesome j3nn thanks for sharing with us 😀 omg I love the eye cream, truly incredible stuff! I really like it! Must get some of that boots range thanks for sharing doll!

  • Melissa

I wants it because its neat and I want to be like J-lo too not because I know it will work. La mer interests me because its been around long enough to have many moons of hype and unlike the $300+ Chanel cream, canola oil isn’t an ingredient. I think I need to get a power ball ticket. 😀
