Would You Buy It? Luxurious Chanel Holiday Beauty

Chanel Holiday Gifts 2009 1111

The holidays are approaching faster and faster now. As I run around gathering up gifts for family and friends I can’t resist sticking an item or two into my own cart, the cheek right? But who can resist right?

Chanel has some incredible offerings for Holiday 2009 including it’s Bird of Paradise Collection. Along with color cosmetics they have a slew of perfume sets, brush sets, etc…..these are super luxurious items way above what I should be spending on myself.

Jump ahead to see some very special gifts from Chanel and tell me Would You Buy Them?

My eye spies the Chanel Les Minis de Chanel Make Brush Set aka some small brushes with a big old price tag. $120 snags you six brushes in a travel case featuring the iconic Chanel signature. Way above my budget but a girl can dream big right?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. That fragrance wardrobe has my lemmings as Chanels in parfum concentration are something truly special. I can skip the others though especially that brush set….. I don’t think Chanel brushes are on par with the likes of MAC or Trish McEvoy.

      hey bora!

I’m lemming the brushes 😀 hey! btw! Have you tried the moistful makeup from Etude House? Was curious about the new foundation!

Update us on the brushes if you get them! I prefered the old Chanel make-up brushes (gold metal ferrules) and loved a couple of the eyeshadow brushes, but otherwise haven’t been impressed by the quality and cut. But I’m always happy to be proved wrong.

I haven’t bought the moistful make-up range from Etude House as unfortunately the colour doesn’t match my skin tone: even the darker shade is too pale for me and looks a bit grey. However it feels lovely on the skin and I wish I could try it. I did get the pressed powder although I haven’t cracked it open yet. The compact is very cute, as always!

bora…I’m leaning towards. I never owned any chanel brushes before and I think I want to indulge 😀 I’ll def review if I haul! hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm you got me lemming now. How many pieces is it? A miss, primer, foundation liquid, foundation cream, and powder right?

Errr, yeah, I’ll pass on those too. $120US for six brushes? $62.50US gets you the Too Faced brush set and they are awesome. The Sublimage set, how much sunscreen, Retin A, and vitamin c can you get for that price? The perfume set, classy. Thank God no Chanel perfume has captured my heart.

Hello, thanks for this post on my favorite line. Brush – set yes. Ordering from Nordies to get double points this weekend. I love my other Chanel brushes. They are a couple years old and I use them every day. Parfume set, maybe – its pretty but it would be more for vanity than for use. Sublimage – gets a big no! I got large samples and tried these products for a month. The eye cream is good for an emolient basic cream. The face cream gave an instant glow but over time I think it made my face look worse. It smells lovely and I would be thrilled if they made a body lotion or fragrance with the scent. Two of the ingredients (squalene and canola oil.) are so common place, I really can not justify the price when there are much better products out there for less money!

      hi melissa!

My pleasure 😀 I really would like to indulge as well but it may be put aside for a little while…I have SO many things on my wish list groan 😀 omg thanks for killing my lemming on the sublimage line as I was going to indulge in both after the holidays!!!!!!!!!!!!

      $$ saved!

    Hi, Muse!

I am a long-time lurker, but I *love* your blog!

I bought the fragrance wardrobe last year and I am really glad I did. I won’t buy it again this year, but that is only because I still have lots left! I especially love no.5 and the original coco! I also got last year’s brush set and I like them, but to be honest, I also like my much cheaper Essence of Beauty brushes.

thanks ginny!!!!!! I’m so glad you came out to say hello! I like EoB too haha 😀 I never purchased a Chanel Set…I did recently get a beautiful gift of a full set of Bobbi Brown brushes and I’m over the moon at how beautiful they are 😀 I guess I need a chanel set now too otherwise the BB set will be lonely!

  • Christy

I like the perfume set, but not sure if I would get it for myself. I will add it to my wishlist though. 😉

  • Bonnie

I’m a big fan of Chanel perfumes and makeup, but will prolly be passing on these as I’ve already hauled so much other stuff recently! (Hi, Lush! Hi, Kiehls!) 🙂 However, BF has been innocently ‘asking’ how my perfume stores are looking…so I might get a bottle of Chanel something-or-other (please let it be a tiny bottle of No. 5 parfum!!) from him, since he knows how I love all things Chanel, just like my mom. I would love for him to get me this sampler, too. My dream would be a new bottle of Chanel Gardenia–my understanding is that it is sold only in Chanel stores, and there are none in my area. I did buy a bottle some years ago in Las Vegas and I damn near cried when it ran out!!

    • the Muse

lol bonnie awesome on the lush hauling 😀 Hmmm I never tried out Chanel Gardenia! interesting must try it next time I am around a Chanel store 😀

Start dropping hints for the BF to get you this coffret 😀
