Yay or Nay: FranBrand SkinCare

Franbrand Skincare 2

The Muse deserves her own line of skincare….or…mmmm makeup. Yes, I’d like my very own brand of makeup please. What? Everyone else has one why can’t I? Victoria Principal, Lauren Hutton, Joan Rivers…it’s like a law in Hollywood that after you’re older they give you a gratuitous makeup collection of your very own. The next victim to jump that train? Wait for it…..The Nanny! Well, you and I know her as The Nanny but her actual name is Fran Drescher.

Yes, Fran Drescher does have her own skincare line, indeed it’s very true. FranBrand, not an inventive name by any means, is now available for purchase on HSN. How do I know this? Because I’m diseased enough to Tivo episodes of HSN and FranBrand happened to interrupt the showing of Clean Fragrance I was recording today.

Actually…a little surprise about the line.

Jump for it and you can yay or nay it after you hear my thoughts!

Ok, so I’m totally buying into this skincare line because 1. I’m a shallow junkie that loves the simple packaging and 2. she’s donating funds from sales to her Cancer Schmancer Fund.

Oh…alright I also admit the woman looks incredible for her age and if by chance it’s her skincare that’s causing the miracle, I want in on some of that.

She has some interesting products and prices are pretty affordable as well. I think mainly the line is geared towards women in their 30’s, 40’s, and upwards but some pieces can easily be enjoyed by those who are a bit younger.

Franbrand Terrific Toner Gel was one item that caught my attention which tones and moisturizers. It’s supposedly a gel like texture that you use as you would a moisturizer. It’s $17 so it’s a pretty nice price and affordable to test out if you’re leaning towards the yay section of things.

Franbrand Skincare 1

All the products are made with natural botanicals and organic ingredients which will appeal to the green friendly skincare users out there.

Overall, I’m actually leaning towards the yay side of things. I’m tempted to indulge in an item or two as it seems like an interesting collection of skincare.

What do you think?

The Nanny Skincare?

Yay?

Nay?

Share it!

Available now from HSN if you’re curious!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I’ll admit it…I love her! I think she’s hilarious and gorgeous! But its a “nay” for me since I’m a bit too young and a lot too poor.

    • the Muse

awww me too Lisa 😀 and yes I don’t think it’s something you need if you’re a bit younger 😀 so at least it’ll make you a little more richer by NOT indulging 😀

  • iamalejandra

    Yes and yes!!
You know why? Didn’t she use to sell cosmetics before becoming The Nanny? Girls got 15+ years of experience in the field!! LOL

  • Ashley

Toner Gel… how innovative? I never liked the series as a kid & now that I’m much more mature, I still don’t like it. I love Fran though.. as a person on her own, she’s spectacular!
I would definitely invest in a toner/moisturizer for my mom though 🙂 Seriously, how neat is that!?

    • the Muse

I thought the same thing ashley. I like the idea. I agree she really is brilliant 😀 the series was kinda fun but damn her voice lol! I like the packaging and such. I’m kinda tempted to get some!

  • lorena

OMG I want it but I am in germany, i write a letter to fran! Please help me I want her Products!!!! 🙁

    • the Muse

      hi Lorena.

Right now it’s within the US only! maybe she’ll start selling abroad soon!? I hope so!

  • Patty

ordered it from HSN, arrived yesterday, I slathered it on last night! haha. i bought the “discovery night kit” – at $25 not too bad. Small glass bottles, but comes with a cleanser, toner, and face cream. Smelled like herbs and essential oils! My face still smelled like eucalyptus oil or whatever is in it, this morning! haah. so i guess it’s very tenacious cream…..i trust fran. i’ll get back to u in a month 🙂

    • the Muse

sounds awesome patty can’t wait to hear your update really want to indulge soon! 🙂

  • Cindy

I love the Nanny; my entire family does. We didn’t like it when it first came out (our kids were too little to appreciate it), but now that they are teens, we all enjoy watching it. We’ve got her shows on DVD and are anxiously awaiting release of additional seasons. I also LOVE her skin care products. The toner gel is great and so are the eye creams. I like the packaging and the way my skin feels after using her products. I’m sold.

    • the Muse

hi cindy I do too, such a fab show 😀

so great to hear how terrific these are really want to get some to review 😀

      Thanks for the heads up!

  • Nancy

Ordered the 2 kits from HSN and went back for her cleanser. They don’t have it and after talking to customer service they say they don’t know when or if they’ll get it in.What a BUMMER!!!

    • the Muse

damn nancy sorry to hear and I haven’t even tried ANY yet…really wanting to review it maybe soon!

  • Alyson

I saw Fran on HSN last November and bought the day and night eve creams and her Day Discovery kit. After several weeks, I noticed a difference in my appearance, mostly around the eyes. I actually look more refreshed and I don’t look as tired as I did before. I’m in my mid 50’s and I have tried many products. This one is a keeper, I have already ordered more of her serum.

    • the Muse

hey alyson I haven’t tried these yet but nice tohear they are lovely 😀 I must order some soon as I’m very curious about her line!

  • Mia

I have to say I bought both the day kit and night kit…I am 44 (just shy of 45) so it’s perfect for my skin right now….I give this a resounding YAY! My skin looks almost as good as it did in myearly 20’s…my pores are almost completely invisible, my skin doesn’t feel sticky or oily when I wake up in the morning…or when i use the daytime moisturizer…I can put on my makeup after without the issue of waiting for my skin to COMPLETELY absorb whatever is on it….now she just needs to do a body care line and I will be a VERY happy camper…

Yay, yay, yay! I think it’s some of the loveliest, most luxurious (especially for the price), truly some of the nicest products I have ever tried. And I’ve tried them all, especially natural skin lines. Fran’s is awesome. Smells wonderful and really works. I’ve used all the products. I can’t say enough how much I’ve fallen in love with them.

  • B

I LOVE THESE PRODUCTS – THEY SMELL WONDERFUL AND MAKE YOUR SKIN FEEL LIKE SILK. BOUGHT THEM WITH THE EXPECTATION THEY WOULD BE A NAY – BUT THEY ARE GREAT AND WELL WORTH THE MONEY – ORDER FROM HSN – YOU HAVE A 30 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE – BUT YOU WON’T BE RETURNING THEM. LOVEEEE THE SMELL!!!! AND THEY WORK!!!!

I’m very interested in this skincare line as I have had recent surgery on my face for squamous cell cancer. In addition, yesterday I had 7 pre-cancerous spots removed from my face. What I would love to see is some sort of Franbrand line to cover scars due to skin cancer and a mega-spf on her products. I’m thrilled that all of the proceeds go to Cancer Schmancer, but I’m a bit of a skeptic these days. I’m trying to follow the Skin Cancer’s Foundation listing of recommended beauty products. Trust me there is an open market on this.
So…I would love to see more reviews on this line.

  • Kim

I hope this line does well – in respect to it being a healthy alternative to the chemicals we have been slathering on for centuries, making the big corporations rich at our expense. Go Fran! Love her too!

  • Regina Smith

The moisture lotion is wonderful, but the glass jar it came in made it difficult for the top to stay on. It was not a match. Therefore, my lotion evaporated (so did my money that I spent for this product). The top lost its grove.

  • Ruth Presas

Yay! Ive been looking for her Fran Brand products for years! I have rosacea and her products were the only ones that calm my skin to the point of almost no rednessI need her products back please!
