Bath and Body Works Liplicious Tasty Jewels Lipgloss Review, Swatches, Photos
In my quest to own every single shimmering lipgloss around this season I came across Bath and Body Works Liplicious Lip Jewels and I likey.
Ok, story time…you know these reviews always have to start with a boring story told by yours truly. What fun would be a review without my babbling commentary to go along with it right?
So, I’m loving C.O. Bigelow Lip Cordials at the moment and this led me to go and grab some Bath and Body Works Liplicious Lip Jewels. Actually…I was ordering fragrance oils for my sis and I added these in the cart on a whim and I’m sure glad I did as they are pretty darn tasty.
Jump!
I’ve been meaning to try Bath and Body Works Liplicious Glosses for a while but I always passed them up as a cheapie, cheesy gloss that I really didn’t need. How wrong was I?
Of course, I was tempted by Bath and Body Works Liplicious Lip Jewels because of the packaging. BBW decked these out for the Holiday Season by adding a glam disco ball stopper plus the formula has been revamped to include plenty of shimmer and glitter.
Speaking of shimmer and glitter…..formula wise the gloss is nice. It’s more of a lip jelly texture with an incredible tasty formula. Each flavor is better than the last, so yummy you’ll want to tip back the tube and squeeze it into your mouth. However, the shimmer and glitter could prove a deal breaker for some. After the gloss wears away you’ll end up with alot of left behind glitter….not a pretty look. I don’t mind so much as I simply touch up quickly to avoid the problem but I know this is considered a pet peeve for some. The glosses don’t wear particularly well this could be because I’m licking my lips for a taste ever 2 seconds or could be the formula just isn’t tacky enough to stick around on my lips longer than 30 minutes tops, again, I don’t mind so much as overall I like the glosses.
The finished results on lips are pretty stunning. It’s a pop of nice color (depending on the shade you use), plenty of shimmer, and a ton of shine. Loves it!
I purchased three shades which were Sparkling Plum, Strawberry Bling, and Ruby Red Licorice. They all taste like their namesakes aside from Plum which I thought was more of a Fruity Punch flavor. The flavors are so intense and yummy to the max, I do believe that’s part of the glosses appeal.
Overall, the formula isn’t anything to get my knickers in a twist over but I will say they are worthy of a haul as the tasty formula and beautiful shine and shimmer will make for a worthy holiday look or a little stocking stuffer for a friend. At the moment they are Buy 2, Get 1 Free but you may want to wait a little to see if you can haul them cheaper during the Semi-Annual Sale but honestly they are going pretty fast so grabbing now would be a good idea.
Anyone get these?
