Clean & Clear Morning Burst In-Shower Facial Review

Gawd, you should see my shower. It’s kinda absurd at the moment with all the lotions and potions hanging out in there.

Speaking of product overload….last night I was in a deep sleep and around 3:30AM I hear this loud crazy crash. I thought someone was breaking into my house or something. I jerk out of bed and start looking around from room to room. Mind you I live in a large Victorian House so imagine me stumbling around from upstairs to downstairs and back again to figure out what the hell was going on. Turns out that the shelf I have in my bathroom which houses my rather large collection of shower gels broke. It was like a flood of bottles all over my bathroom…so here I am at near 4 in the morning on my hands and knees in the washroom, bleary eyed and completely unable to compute or comprehend what was going on, trying to clean up the mess!

Anyway….totally off topic there. I was just thinking about it as I typed up my review of the Clean & Clear Morning Burst In-Shower Facial I’ve been testing out this month!

Clean & Clear Morning Burst In-Shower Facial 1

Jump!

Ooooooo I LOVE washing my face in the shower. When I do it at the sink I always feel like I’m rushing it along but in the shower it’s rather fab to just keep on a treatment as I take care of other things and allow it to sink in. Know what I mean?

This is why I’m loving on Clean & Clear Morning Burst In-Shower Facial.

I’m not normally the biggest fan in the world of drugstore skincare but treatment products I normally generally like. Clean & Clear Morning Burst In-Shower Facial happens to be one I enjoy!

What is it?

It’s all rather simple. Combine a moisturizing cream and exfolilator into one product that can be combined with the steam of your shower to get a deep down and dirty clean. The product is a grainy lightly orange scented cream. Hop in your shower and let the steam from it open up your pores. Now slather a heap of Clean & Clear Morning Burst In-Shower Facial on your face. Leave it on a while. Shave your legs, brush your teeth, wash your body, do your normal shower regime while it sits around on your skin a bit. After 5 or 10 minutes slowly massage it around your face and rinse.

Done!

A rather perfect way to give yourself a quickie mini facial in the shower. The product is perfect for daily use in my humblest. It makes my skin soft, doesn’t strip or dry my skin out, and makes me feel like my face is extra squeaky clean and it’s cheap as day old chips too.

Likey!

Overall, I’d say Clean & Clear Morning Burst In-Shower Facial is worthy of a pick up. A great way to get your face in tiptop shape in the AM!

Loves it!

Ahaha! The shower-rack-crashing-down thing has totally happened to me too! That’s what happens when you have waaaay too many bath products in there! I have been eyeing this product at the store, but I am also skeptical of drugstore skincare. I will be sure to try this now! Thanks for the review!

    • the Muse

LOL erin how awful right!? glad I’m NOT alone 😀 I’m very skeptical of it too but this is pretty decent 🙂 my pleasure let me know what you think if you do check it out!

  • Dao

I used to have this Morning Burst face lotion back in college. The smell is very enticing and definitely does the job to wake me up in winter. I’m glad you like this face wash and I feel so bad for your broken shelf. I hope you will find a strong and sturdy shelf soon.

    • the Muse

hey dao love your new profile pic! pretty girl 😀 I’m really liking this one! The smell really is nice and it isn’t drying my skin out, total plus! Aw thanks hun! 🙂

  • Ashley

Very true, drugstore skin care has never worked for me… But the facial treatments are always better than high end brands! I like to indulge A LOT every week so something more affordable that feels great on my face, feels great in my wallet!
P.S. I hate it when my soap/shampoo rack falls! I wish I had built in holders instead of buying those ones you stick against the tiles. I hate them! They are absolute garbage. And then when I try to buy a BETTER one it fails just like the one before it. I’m wasting money & I’m constantly frustrated :'(

    • the Muse

hey ashley! I agree! Plus it’s nicer to pay less when I’m using it so very often 😀

ugh HATE that too. I have two that are part of my shower but the others just fall over and such 😛 grrrrrrrrr! lol I hear you I waste more money on shelves than I do showert gels sometimes!

  • Hailee

I actually use this too because I’m so overwhemed by all the nicer brands because there’s so many haha! What would your Fave mornin cleanser be? Keep in mind I’d be using the sink lol

    • the Muse

      hey hailee!

LOL tell me about it. market is over saturated with insanity! Mmmm toss up between mac volcanic ash, noxzema, and soap and glory scrub your nose in it 🙂

  • Bakeneko

Haha I have got an absolutely bloody ridiculous amount of shower gels in my bathroom (and even more in my little stock cupboard!)

  • Phyrra

I need to try this. Ray and Dave love the regular cleaner by them in the morning burst.

      • Del

I’ve tried the regular cleaner & it’s not bad. Doesn’t really wake me up though…are the beads supposed to do that or the smell? LOL…now I gotta check this in-shower facial out…Target, I’ll see you soon! =)

        • the Muse

LOL del I hear you def not more awake after use LOL! but my face feels nice at least 🙂

  • Hana

That’s really too bad about your shelf…but it’s kind of hilarious at the same time. XD We have a narrow built in shelf along the length of our shower, so that’s where we keep the stuff that always stays in our shower. But I tend to use different shower gels and shampoos and conditioners and stuff daily, so I pull them out of my cabinet and put them along the edge of the bathtub, which is fine, but I’m always knocking stuff off. My roommate has almost as much stuff in the shower as I do, but he barely uses any of it so I think I’m going to take it out and just steal his extra space.

Anyway, thanks for the review! I may have to try this facewash at some point…

    • the Muse

LOL it is funny hana 😀 go and steal his extra space! He’s a guy he doesn’t need it LOL!!!!!!! 😀 My pleasure hun! 😀 It’s actually pretty good for it’s price point 🙂

  • Kahani

doesn’t anyone else have my problem with in-shower facials? Doesn’t the darn stuff get into your eyes when you’re trying to shave your legs? =P

  • talya

I have mixed feelings about this product. Love love loved the old version that was discontinued. The new version has a mix of characteristics that I like and those I could live without:

    – Still softens my skin, still exfoliates (not as effectively though), still has a pleasant cooling and tingling sensation

    – Has a new scent that I could live without. It isn’t terrible, but I like the old scent better. I think the new is more popular, though.

    – Has a new texture that I’m still undecided about. It’s less thick and gritty than the old version. It’s not as effective at exfoliating and it doesn’t feel as clinical on my skin. It feels more like a potion mixed up by junior-high girls at a sleep over. However, it doesn’t feel bad, and though I did not find the old version harsh at all, this is even less so. It does not feel as effective.

    – It has a moisturizing effect now, which I very much enjoy. I used to use this for blackheads though (it did a GREAT job), and the new version is too soft to take care of them. I could do without the moisturizing on the areas of my face with blackheads. It almost seems like instead of eradicating them, this product is contributing to the problem.

    – It dyes my skin orange!!!!!! :O DO NOT like this at all.

Overall, I loved the old product and swore by it. The new one is something I will continue to use, but I will not be relying on it as much as I did the old one. I do not feel the changes made were an improvement in most aspects, and it does not seem as effective. I feel like I still have to wash my face after using it.

Did anyone else experience the colored skin, though? I’d love to know how you think the two compare.

    • the Muse

      hi jess.

Thanks for sharing your review! 😀 awesome of you. Never experienced my skin dying orange though…whoa! I never tried the old version, didn’t even know about the old version until now 🙂 so can’t really compare sadly but maybe someone else will reply!

  • Ashlyn

Awww! Sorry to hear about your shelf! 🙁 Its sad and kinda funny at the same time! 🙂
I bought this today and I cant wait to try it out! 🙂 I’ve been reading reviews all day trying to figure out if I made a good buy or not. Thanks for the review! 🙂 Im really excited about trying this out!

    • the Muse

aw no worries ashlyn hehe it happens. Hope you enjoy it, stop back, tell me how you made out!

  • Ashlyn

hehe thanks! I honestly loved it! I love the tingly feeling! 🙂 My skin which is usually shiny and oily has no shine! 🙂 It also didnt dry out my skin like the other clean and clear products do. I loved it and I will be buying it again when I run out! 🙂
