Laura Geller Tropics Deluxe Collection Review and Swatches
I’m liable to be broke if Laura Geller keeps putting out these super cool sets that she has going on lately.
Damn girl, talk about all kinds of tropical delightful in the middle of Winter. Outside the wind is blowing hard and it’s a brisk one in New York City today but inside I’m sporting the Laura Geller Tropics Deluxe Collection and looking all warm and tropical! Likey!
Jump!
Yesterday I told you how much you need this set and today I’m going to go the extra mile and say you REALLY need this set.
It’s just a great set to have and it’s priced to own in my humble opinion at $37 for four items. Basically Laura used to sell the lipstick and glosses in the Tropics Collection as a duo. The duo contained the lipstick and gloss, actually it was two separate sets. Anyone who follows the Laura Geller line knows exactly what I mean. Anyway…all you need to know now is she combined the two glosses and the lipstick and slapped in this incredibly beautiful, brilliant, pretty blush along with them!
Loves it!
The set includes:
Laura Geller Tropics Lipstick (golden apricot, burnished peach)
Laura Geller Tropics Lip Shiner (melon)
Laura Geller Tropics Hues Baked Blush (coral pink, bronze)
Laura Geller City Lights Lip Gloss (golden shimmer)
In my opinion one thing would make this better and that would be if she actually either created and sold separately the Laura Geller Tropics Hues Baked Blush or she gave us a larger size with the set. The size of the blush is way too small for me since it’s so gorgeous I want a super size please. The blush is about the size of a MAC Mineralized Eye Shadow. It’s made up of a golden swirls of pink, coral, and peach with a faint shimmering gold finish. It’s quite unique from anything I own and quite reminds me of a MAC Mineralized Skinfinish but way more pigmented and way more beautiful. It’s truly a stunning piece of makeup and dare I say worth the $37 alone without the lip items included. On my cheeks it applies a warm shade of golden coral with hints of pink and peach, very fresh, very pretty, very tropical.
After all my raving on the blush I’m sure you want to hear about the lip products now…..
Just as good as the blush, promise.
Laura Geller Tropics Lipstick isn’t a particularly amazing formula in my humblest. It glides on nicely but it isn’t nearly as moisturizng as I like my lippies to be however the color more than make ups for the formula. Laura did some serious thinking with this set and included pieces that just go oh so well together. The lipstick matches up beautifully with the blush and is a golden apricot shade with a bit of peach, a bit of coral, and a hint of pink. Truly a stunning creation!
And finally the set includes two glosses one of which could be considered more of a pigmented lip cream. Laura Geller Tropics Lip Shiner is a pigmented shade of melon that’s almost identical in color to the lipstick and pairs well with it. The formula is heavy and quite pigmented, it’s rich in texture and glides on beautifully well. It can easily be used by itself or on top of lipstick. Also included is Laura Geller City Lights Lip Gloss which is a transparent shade of clear gloss with golden shimmer, perfect for topping on the lipstick. Both glosses have fun, fruity flavors and are quite tasty.
Overall, the set is simply stunning. The packaging appeals which is a gorgeous sparkling pink creation, you won’t feel shy whipping this out of your purse for touch ups. The makeup itself is just as stunning as the packaging and well worth a pick up. Sporting great pigmentation and just and overall beautiful presentation there isn’t much not to love here.
I can’t gush enough I truly love this set. Being exposed to cosmetics daily I do tend to feel a little burned out but this set was very impressive and well worth a haul. Total Muse Approval for purchase!
Loves it long time!
For my look below I paired up a Facefront Eye Shadow with the blush. I kinda like the shadow don’t you? I was going to use the Tropics Blush on my eyes as I think you could easily multitask it on cheeks and lids but I opted for the Facefront shadow as it had a tropical feel to it!
I picked up three more sets to give as gifts, truly a beautiful one. Great job Laura, we likey! Let’s see some more like this one in the future.
Anyone haul this?
