MAC Care Blends Essential Oils Review

I guess when you release a collection entitled Warm & Cozy one does tend to think Winter. Now when I think of Winter the first thing that pops into my head is dry skin. Truly. Not snow, not Christmas, not a frosty landscape…nope none of those things…dry skin, yes for sure.

With the release of the MAC Warm & Cozy Collection, MAC took upon themselves to not only release a color story that’s fitting for the cold weather but also some essential oil blends to battle dry, flaky skin.

Take the jump for a little babble and review of the new MAC Care Blends Essential Oils.

First of all these are too damn small. Geez, I could use a big old bottle of these guys. This simply means you’re going to need back ups if you love ’em as much as I do.

Frankly, it’s highly debatable if they will clog your pores or not. I have virtually no pores so it’s a great dry skin relief. Personally, I feel the formula is so light and quick absorbing I’m in doubt they will cause any woes in regards to clogging up your skin, but as I said, it’s debatable.

I find them interesting as the formula proves to feel as if they aren’t a complete concentrate of various oils but have been mixed with a lighter base. Almost water-like in consistency they are incredibly light for an essential oil blend.

You can use them in any numbers of ways. A small amount applied directly to dry skin on elbows, knees, various body parts, or even your face will prove instant relief for dry, tired, flaky skin. They absorb easily without leaving behind a greasy or oily feel. I even pat some under my dry eyes. Application is fairly easy thanks to an dropper.

There are two separate blends to choose from. Whichever you choose you’ll end up with the same results as the only difference between the two is the scent. MAC Care Blends Essential Oils Grapefruit & Chamomile is a mix of tart grapefruit and soothing chamomile and MAC Care Blends Essential Oils Sweet Orange & Lavender is a combination of juicy orange and herbal lavender. For the most part the blends give off more of a herbal scent than a fruity one but you do get faint traces of fruit in the mix.

Overall, I’d recommend these to anyone who needs a little dry skin relief. If you’re sensitive, prone to break outs, etc…you may want to do a small patch test to see if they’ll work well on your face and if not you can try mixing with your regular moisturizer to see if that helps rather than use them directly. If they fail to work for the delicate skin of your face you can still happily use on areas of your body who may be in need of a bit of hydration.

I like them very much and Muse Approve ’em for purchase.

Anyone try these?

First I wanted to get them both (dry skin loves oil ;)), then I heard it makes people break out. And now I see that you like them. I use oil in my skin care a lot, so I might get one when they come out here.
Thanks for the review, Muse 🙂
Hope you enjoyed your Holidays 🙂

I guess it depends Nia. I imagine sensitive types will break out. Dry skin will suck it right up 😀 I betcha mac would be willing to give you a small sample to take home and try when it arrives 🙂

      My pleasure dear.

Holiday was fab thanks for asking, hope yours was too! 🙂

I am currently giving both of these a good try (along with the Mineralize All Over Lotion), and to be quite honest… they’re wonderful.

My skin has never been dry before, let me tell you. I am so used to oily skin, but after my skin sort of settled into being relatively normal, this winter, it got DRY. These seemed like a really good solution. Not only does mixing one to two drops of this into my moisturizer make my skin look absolutely dewy and gorgeous, but I don’t have a single dry patch on my face ANYWHERE.

And I have hugemongous clog-prone pores. Not experiencing a single problem there so far. Of course, they do need to be given a long-term test, but I don’t foresee there being an issue if there hasn’t been one already.

Hi todd sorry for the delayed reply doll!

That’s so fab, my skin is liking them too! That’s fantastic 😀 sounds like really good results all around. At the moment I’m using on rough elbows and knees and feel soft and gorg thanks to ’em!

Enjoy! Thanks for telling us the good word 🙂
