Morning world!

How’s everyone?  Hopefully well.

The Muse has been busy in the scary world of cheap drugstore makeup the last few days, joy. But I can’t seem to resist all the new bits and bobs I’m seeing crop up. One of which is the new Maybelline Lash Stiletto Voluptuous.

Jump!

The standard version of Maybelline Lash Stiletto doesn’t seem to be all that welcomed into the beauty world if the reviews I’ve read are anything to go by. I actually liked it very much and was pretty impressed with it which is why I decided to indulge in the new version, Maybelline Lash Stiletto Voluptuous.

The key to Maybelline Lash Stiletto Voluptuous is the cool brush. It’s a wavy design which actually performs the twist and pull action you’d have to struggle with if you were using a standard brush head. It’s a pretty great brush and it’s what makes the product a win for me. The brush lenghtens, plumps, and creates longer, fuller lashes.

The formula itself is nice. It’s pretty pigmented, feels nice on the lashes if not a tiny bit stiff. Generally speaking it’s nothing really special which is why I blame the brush for the great results I get with the mascara but it’s nice enough. The brush design is interesting and different. It grasps lashes, wraps around them, and lifts upwards and out for longer lashes.

Overall, it’s probably a little too expensive for drugstore mascara in my humblest at around $10-11 but it does the job and it does it well so it’s probably a worthy one to pick up and try out.

Likey!

awesome kira, someone else that loves it. All the reviews I’ve ready it’s normally a meh but I really like the old one and I’m enjoying the new as well :-D

Aw I hate that. I know the feeling well as I crave things from abroad :(

Ooh I can’t wait to try this, the regular lash stiletto works really well with my lashes.

I have never tried the old stiletto. The only Maybelline mascara I tried was its classic, Great Lash over 15 years ago.

I am a personal fan of Lancome’s Definicils brand and would love to try the drugstore brands however find that they are getting more and more expensive I would rather stick to a more “premier” brand by paying a few extra dollars.

The review did sound tempting though…

hey helena

I’m of the same mentality as you in regards to any makeup really. It’s best to just buy counter rather than go through many ds brands and end up with medicore. This is nice but the nearly $11 price tag is somewhat high for DS when I can get a counter brands for a little bit more :)

i love the stiletto mascara ! it makes my lashes soo long. maybelline really does make the best drugstore mascaras in my opinion- i find myself reaching for the colossal way more than my diorshow lol

I love love love lash stilleto! !
It’s my HG mascara, and I buy the expensive
Ones too. I do not know if I am going to buy this
Version though. I am not into volume.
Right now I am looking for a good brown brown
Mascara that works like stilleto.
I did get Bad Gal lash brown, Cuz, you try it often.
And I like the color but it doesn’t DO anything but
Sits there. I need some length and curl.

me too Layra good stuff. No go on bad gal eh? I loved the brown too much to notice that it didn’t curl so well :) I understand how you feel. This actually comes in a black/brown so it might be what you seek!

I am actually going to give the new Cover girl
Length blast a shot. Everyone seems to love
Lashblast. But I didn’t. I think the new one might act like
Stilleto

I thought Cover Girl Lenght Blast would be like Lash Stiletto. It was nothing special. Stiletto was much better.

Hi Muse!
New poster here. I love your blog! I just have a quick question: did you curl your lashes in the “After” photo or is that all the mascara? If it’s the latter, I am all over this mascara.

the Muse December 29, 2009 at 2:51 pm

hey colleen!

Good to meet you! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D

Nope I try not to curl when I test b/c it kinda defeats the point of the review :) so def no curling hun! Hope this helps!?

Your lashes look great in the second pic! I was interested in this mascara, but the brush looks almost identical to Lancome’s Hypnose Drama, which my boyfriend recently got me for Christmas, so I can’t bring myself to indulge just yet… I have too many mascaras as it is!

thanks audrey :) hmmm I think you are right as my sis has lancome HP! :-D but at least you can replenish cheaper with this maybe?! :-D

I’m not a great big fan of the original, but I’m willing to give this one a shot!

jackie pretty nice stuff! If you’re not sold on the original this may be your ticket in, it’s actually considerably better. I like the original but this is better imho!

I really liked Lash Stiletto, so this will go on my wish list, or rather watch list as only a fraction of Maybelline products make it to Austria. Not sure if I can get along with strange wands, the classic type has always worked best for me.

I liked the original a lot! I have very long dark pigmented lashes so I only need mascara for a curl because mine flop down and NEVER hold a curl. I’ve tried EVERYTHING, and lash stiletto seemed to hold a nice curl and not be too heavy. I also use my shu eyelash curler :) love it

Reply

the Muse January 14, 2010 at 10:16 pm

hey samantha! Glad you love it, me too! :-D I really enjoyed the formula and heck yes I can’t go anywhere with my shu curler! Cadillac of curlers :)

I’m going to have to try this, since I absolutely adore the original Lash Stiletto. It’s nice to find an affordable option, since most of the stuff I like a lot is pretty pricy!

Reply

the Muse January 4, 2010 at 8:41 pm

liz same problem always the pricey stuff catches my eye, this is a good deal for the price and does what it says :-D I think you might likey!

I just had to try this with all the mixed feelings and all…plus the great pic of your eye! how do you get such a good pic? Macro? I happened to see this at Target- not with all the Maybelline stuff (like it should be), but at the end of the toothpaste aisle! *WTH*…anyhow, bought it & like it a lot, cept that sometimes too much mascara comes out on the wand- also doesn’t do much for volume, but lots for length. next stop = regular lash stiletto…thanks for the introduction Musey!

Reply

the Muse January 12, 2010 at 10:00 pm

no go del eh? but at least sounds like it worked somewhat if not completely. def a macro pic yes :-D toothpaste really?! Doh! It’s the idiots they have working there probs LOL

my pleasure hun!

I absolutely agree that the brush is what makes this mascara awesome. I found it at walgreens on sale for $5.39 and now that I know it works so well, I’m thinking I might have to go back and get 1 or 2 more while they are on sale!!!

hey maddy good hauling hun! :-D glad you’re enjoying it. I really liked it as well and nice deal as I paid more!
