Shills Miss Perfect Pores Hide Review

Shills Miss Perfect Pores Hide 1

To think I was just bragging to you how my skin is bulletproof but wanna know one thing that makes me break out like a teenager? Freaking Benefit Dr. Feelgood!

The cute packaging slays me but man oh man this stuff breaks me out something fierce. I have no idea what causes the problem but damn straight I get a face full of pimples whenever I attempt trying it out.

Shills Miss Perfect Pores Hide recently captured my attention. Knowing how bad Dr. FeelGood is for my skin didn’t really stop me from wanting to try this out regardless. It’s the packaging, the damn packaging does me in every single time.

Jump!

I KNEW that it probably wouldn’t be a smart idea to try out Shills Miss Perfect but I decided what the heck. Honestly, Shills continues to make me giggle with their dupes of Benefit product. Truly the packaging, the general feel, and the entire idea behind certain products is so very Benefit in style.

Shills Miss Perfect is basically the same concept as Benefit Dr FeelGood. Housed in a cute tin featuring a cute smiling pin up girl I just couldn’t resist indulging.

Turns out it doesn’t make me break out! Praise Jebus!

Fact of the matter is I don’t have large pores so it is somewhat pointless. The idea of the product is it’s a soothing balm applied prior to makeup to fill larger pores and to mattify skin. The formula is a hard balm but it applies silky with a sponge applicator. It smooths on skin creating a smooth, even layer to skin so foundation goes on evenly and blends seamlessly. I actually quite like it as a primer prior to using foundation as it seems to make my foundation last longer and also allows it to smooth on easier.

The apply you simply swipe your sponge onto the balm and smooth onto face, simple, easy, mess-free application. It doesn’t mattify my skin all that well and I do find it will pill a fair bit if my skin is overly dry so dry skin users beware.

Overall, if you’re looking for a base product to fill pores or to create a good working, even canvas for foundation I’d give Shills Miss Perfect Pores Hide a try! It’s a Taiwanese product unavailable in the US but I’ve had the pleasure of seeing it on E-bay for around $9.99 (original retail is around $5 or less).

Anyone a Shills fan?

Do share as I’m a total convert of the line!

    Hi Muse,

Thanks for the review! I just ordered this from ebay recently but I haven’t tried it yet. I do break out easily, so I was a bit worried, but I am hoping I’ll have good results (I do have some larger pores I want to conceal).

Perhaps this is the wrong place to ask, but do you know of any products like this (primer/pore concealer balm) that contain spf protection? I’d love some recommendations if you have any. Thanks again!

    • the Muse

my pleasure ginny! I look forward to hearing what you think 😀 Mmmm no sadly not with SPF not balms anyway. Skin79 has an SPF balm but it’s not a good multitasker as a primer. Are you looking for a primer in liquid form that will double up with SPF? Let me know 🙂

  • Ashley C.

I have never heard of Shills, but this looks awesome! I have combination skin, so if I am able to grab one, hopefully it won’t pill on me.

    • the Muse

hey ashley you should be good with combo skin 😀 good for filling pores if you have larger pores hun!

  • Tammy

Ohhh..I wanna give this a try!!!

Feel Good made me break out too, plus I looked so OILY..eww

    • the Muse

same prob Tam! Oily, itchy, and just broken out 😛 yak! this was good 😀 no itchies, no oily skin!

  • yuki

I’ve seen them sell this product around my area… I’m from Malaysia and enjoy reading yr posts! I break out easily too… I’ve tried a blush from Sasa and I had pimples after that… I’ve tried Etude House’s tissue mask and I got rashes… I’ve tried Skin Food’s peach sake line and had breakouts… I still have the scars from SF’s peach sake till today =(

I have pores!! UGLY ones on my nose!! Might try this product =) thanks for the review…

    • the Muse

hi yuki sorry for the delayed reply happy holidays!

thank you! glad you enjoy my babblings:-D

Aw sorry to hear it. sounds like you are sensitive! 🙁 My pleasure hun! I hope it works and doesn’t break you out!

  • Jin

Oh… Shills is quite widely available here. I’ve never tried it as sometimes I felt their products looked cheap and copied. Just a question, would you recommend primers like these (balm sort) or liquidy ones? (I’ve got pretty big pores and have oily skin)

    • the Muse

      hey jin

kinda cheap yes but still kinda cute too for some odd reason 😀 I really can’t say as I don’t have large pores or oily skin….I’m not sure what would work best. I think liquid ones are the way to go but coming from someone with virtually no pores and dry skin I could be completely wrong 🙂 wish I had better advice for ya hun!

  • Flora

I just ordered this on eBay, so I am somewhat reassured by your positive review. I did not realize it was not available in the U.S. until after I bid on it. I got it for a VERY low price so even if it does not work out I am not too worried.

My favorite primer was recently discontinued -OF COURSE – Ulta Professional Foundation Primer – I liked it better than Photo Finish, believe it or not, because it did not pill up when I used mineral powder foundation over it – the Smashbox just rolled off my skin when I tried that, which i did not expect. The Ulta was also silicone-based but thicker, and had a mattifier in it. I liked it so well that I stocked up with about 6 months supply, and just recently I tried to order more and it had disappeared. So the hunt is on for the replacement that won’t break the bank!

I am adding your site to my favorites too, we beauty junkies have to stick together. 🙂

    • the Muse

hi flora! sorry for the delayed reply! Did you get it already!? How is it!?

I have the same problem with SB it pills something bad! 🙁 did you see the maybelline one? that’s quick nice and cheap!

Aw thanks so much for adding me up! big Hugs! and we sure do!

  • Valerie

Woahhh Muse! Question! I ordered some of this off ebay because of your reveiw, and it arrived yesterday, now my big question is, does your Miss Perfect Pores smell awful? Mine smells like latex! Is this right? It’s so weird! But it does work well… just smelly. The smell makes me a tad nervous that something is off with it XD

  • KAY

i received a wrong item (bad seller =.=), now i see someone reviewed this….maybe i will just give it a try……..i have combo skin, after several hours it will turn oily, i wonder how this would work. I’ll be back after i tried it

    thanks for the review!!

  • Shannyn

    Months after the last comment…

I just bid on this on eBay. I’ve been looking for a foundation primer for ages now (fairly new to the whole makeup obsession and it’s disturbingly addictive) and have been spending a bit too much money on makeup recently so I think this may have to do for my first one… I’ll move up when my funds replenish 😛
I have horrible oily skin so I break out all the time. I was really close to getting the Dr. Feel Good primer so I’m glad I read this first and heeded the warning…

I’ve been spending too much time on this blog today. It’s giving me all kinds of terribly unnesessary ways I want to spend money I don’t have ><

  • Shenara

Thanks for the review! I just bought this on ebay, hopefully it works for me! =)

  • Brandy

I should be getting mine in the mail this coming week and I payed $3 on ebay and I’m hoping it’s as great as it sounds….but I have a question.I usually apply lotion to my face before my makeup because I have dry skin and it tends to get dryer with the mineral makeup I wear…can I still apply lotion under the Mrs perfect or do you think it would make it hard to apply evenly?

    • the Muse

I normally apply moisturizer prior to any makeup Brandy, that’s normally the best regime to follow. Hope this helps!

  • Lauren Morgan

I ordered this for like $4 on ebay because of your review! I’m still anxiously awaiting it’s arrival though!

  • Lauren Morgan

As a follow up to my other comment, I finally got it! I have somewhat noticeable pores once it starts getting disgustingly humid (I live in Florida), and it really does make them look smaller! It did make me a little shiny, but I think that may have been the humidity.

  • Karen

Where can I buy this here in the Philippines? Anyone?

or, where can I but this online? How much?

  • Kamagrian

I’m also an ex-user of Benefit’s Dr. Feelgood, but now use Miss Perfect when I want a similar effect. It’s very similar, for a much lower price! I find it a little softer in texture than Benefit’s version, but it does seem to work and doesn’t break me out. While it doesn’t get rid of my pores (I have open pores due to long-ago acne), it does help make them less noticeable, so it’s a win for me.

    Good review. 🙂

    • the Muse

yay happy to hear this is working out for you Kam! 😀 thanks for taking a sec to comment!

  • Tammy

Hi 🙂 I just came across this and was considering this primer, but I sometimes have dry skin 😛 I’m kind of having second thoughts of getting it. Do you have any liquid primer suggestions? that are cheap…hehe

  • thatgirl1269

I hated this product when I first bought it and put it aside and forgot all about it until a few months ago when I had an idea and now it’s a HG product for me. I don’t use the enclosed sponge (which I found totally useless for my purposes) and instead I remove a small “clump” of the product from the tin, warm it on the back of my hand and then apply it lightly to specific areas on my face, using my ring finger, where I want to hide the pores. Using it this way has found me a total convert and I’m never without it in my makeup repertoire now! Not sure if anyone else has commented on using it this way as I haven’t had a chance to read the comments, but I thought I’d share the idea in case anyone else had problems applying it & needed an alternative approach to applying it. 🙂
