Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener Review and Swatches

Golly I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten a request to review Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener…NOT the new one but the old version in a jar. Remember that one? Don’t quote me but I think it only came in two shades. Some people swore by it while others felt it wasn’t equate coverage and a bit messy to boot…as for me I can’t say as I never did get around to buying it.

The good news?

The Doctor isn’t the only one who regenerated
. Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener has morphed and regenerated into a brand new click pen in a slew of new colors, nothing like the New Year for new skin right?

Jump!

I was actually surprised and delighted how tiny the new Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener is. It’s a cute chubby click pen that’s ideal for keeping inside your purse for quickie touch ups or to store in your desk draw.

Mind you this isn’t as pigmented as some others of it’s kind. It can’t act as your concealer not unless you’re lucky enough to go without or use very little concealer daily. It can however freshen up your eyes in a flash. I call it the little refresher that could. It is simply that. It’s perfect for touch ups and you probably won’t want to be without it once you’ve tried it.

The formula is super duper creamy, blends easily, and not only wakes up tired eyes but also hydrates them. It quite feels like a rich eye cream blended under eyes. It isn’t going to conceal major woes as I said but as the day progresses and your concealer either wears away or you just need a little pick me up this is the ideal tool to get you looking your best in record time without lugging out a bit old palette, seriously once my concealer is on I’m highly unlikely to touch it up throughout the day so this is perfect for clicking and going.

Overall, if you want a nifty, small click pen that delivers a quickie refresh to tired eyes the Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener is your guy. Very cute, likey.

Available now from Bobbi Brown.

Is the formula the same as the original? If so, this seems like much less product for the money compared to the pot…

    • the Muse

as far as I know yes Jane but I haven’t tried the original so can’t compare completely!

    • melissa

Its WAY WAY less than they used to sell in the JAR. Bobbi Brown thought- wow we could rip people off by selling way less if they can’t see the product in a pen ,- and it comes out way to fast out of the pen which equals waisted makeup = more sales! Please they are fooling no one. Too bad it WAS a really great product.

Hey muse! I’ve been lurking around your blog for a while now, and BB’s eye brightener is one product I’ve been yearning to try since I saw it in her Face Lift Collection product photos.

I was wondering if it’s worth using as a concealer substitute, or if it’s not nearly as pigmented to be a good enough substitute. Or is it only worth using over concealer, or as a touch up tool through out the day?

    • the Muse

Ceriene it depends hun. How heavy is your baggage? 🙂 if you’re sporting serious dark circles, fine lines, puff, etc…and need super coverage I’d say this is not good. It’s very sheer and subtle. It’s good for touching up throughout the day but it def WILL NOT give you the coverage of a full on concealer. If your concealer lasts all day but you want a little bit of a highlight under your eyes this would work well however if you’re wanting to replace concealer that may have slipped and slid off as the day progressed this won’t do the job so well!

      Hope this helps!

It really does! I don’t think I’ll be getting this in that case. Such a shame, since the click pen sounded so handy too. 🙁

        Thanks very much!

        • the Muse

aw I’m glad it helped ceriene! You should try the dior pen, it offers good coverage and great for stashing in the purse, much more pigmented than this!

          my pleasure!

I bought the one in the pot just before they took it away and I like it, it is very lightweight. So as soon as I tire of the mess in the jar or it is empty, I will try this one.
    Thanks for the review! 🙂

    Hi!
Do you know how this compares to YSL’s Touche Eclat? I feel like I have a hard time putting Touche Eclat on over the powder when I do touch ups 🙁

    • the Muse

shirley this isn’t pigmented as ysl and works considerably different in my opinion. the texture is more like eye cream plus it has sheer pigmentation where as YSL is considerably more pigmented. If you really wanna try I highly suggest heading to counter and have them put some on you. If you have trouble putting YSL TE over powder you’ll suffer the same downfall with this.

      hope this helps!
