God I love you Korres, have I told you that lately? Korres continues on it’s righteous path to affordable beauty nirvana with the new Korres Golden Goddess Collection. I think they need to rename these little kits to “Korres Snack Packs”. Remember when you were a kid and your mum would seal up some great snack in a ziplock bag? I mean seriously it was like gold when you unzipped it. It could have been stale Cheerios but that ziplock bag somehow made it special.

That’s Korres for ya. The line has really geared towards slapping together a bunch of great treats, stuffing it into a ziploc bag, and selling it for some crazy cool price. Of course as makeup junkies we all get hyper and excited to get more for less right?

You get more, alot more, for alot less with the new Korres Golden Goddess Collection.

Check it after the jump!

Let’s see….

  • Korres Abyssinia Mascara Black
  • 4 Full Size Korres Eyeshadows in Silver 51S, Golden Bronze 27S, Golden Brown 34S and Golden Green 44S
  • Korres Eyeliner Pencil in Golden 6S
  • Korres Cherry Oil Lipgloss in Bronze 37
  • and don’t forget detailed instructions and that cool ziplock baggie!

The kit is valued at $116 dollars and comes with all full size products. You aren’t going to purchase this and get a mini mascara or a mini eyeliner. Each and every item is full sized. How much? Under $40 bucks, $39.50 to be exact. Score! Total steal!

And I lurve it very much.

So Golden Goddess can create any number of looks considering they give you so much product to work with. It’s four shadows peeps, that’s alot of variety. However, Korres also provides detailed instructions for creating a single elegant look that they dubbed “Gold Goddess”. The finished look is a bronze, brown look that’s flattering on most skin tones. It has touches of neutral with a nice natural round up but also very flirty and flattering as well.

Quality wise the shadows are some of the greatest I’ve had the pleasure of using. I purchased my first Korres shadow with the Sugar Plum Collection and absolutely loved them ever after. They blend easy, have incredible color pay off, and have good for you ingredients, what more could a girl want? The shades you get aren’t all used in the look as Korres give you the option of using either a bronze or a brown as the focal point of the look as per the instructions. You get a coppery bronze shade, a pale satin-y green, shimmering silver, and a bark brown. The bark brown (34S Golden Brown) and coppery bronze (34S Golden Bronze) are the two shades which will dominate the look, you can choose one of the two to create the look. I used the brown for my look and I’m looking forward to trying again with the bronze.

I would like to mention at first glance I thought the silver and green were out of place. The instructions actually tell you to use the green as a graduating color, applied on the inner corner of the eye and blended out towards the bronze or brown. At first I was skeptical about this as it’s a mismatched color but actually it works beautifully well and the fading out of the two colors is really outstanding. I did skip out on using the silver in my look because…it just didn’t go for some reason but I might try again in the future.

Also paired up with the kit is a gorgeous liner in Golden 6S. Big fan girl of Korres liners as they have a beautiful soft, smudgy formula that glides on without tugging or skipping. This gold is gorgeous. It’s a shimmering golden butter yellow that goes well with the creation of the look. Also included is a shimmering bronze lipgloss in Golden Bronze. Again, equally lovely and fitting with the look. I absolutely love this shade. And finally Korres Abyssinia Mascara Black is included for lashes. It’s more a traditional mascara but quite good as I’ve tried it in the past.

Overall, the kit includes some seriously great goodies. The final look created is incredibly flattering and very pretty. The collection is quite affordable in my opinion and can be used to create a variety of looks. The instructions included to create the Golden Goddess look are just an added, extra great bonus especially for folks like me who could always use ideas on how best to use color.

Must slap a Muse Approval on it for purchase. I can see myself reaching for the shades again and again to re-create the look I’ve posted with this review. Quite a nice selection of goodies.

I saw this on Sephora awhile back but didn’t think much of it. Now I want it.
On a side note, I packed my kids some Rainbow Goldfish in ziploc baggies this morning. I hope they appreciate it as much as you did as a child!

I recently bought the Korres Smoky eye kit and I loved that one as well. I was surprised because it was all natural, so I wasn’t expecting a lot, but it was all really high quality!! I’m really glad you posted the whole look because I was also not sure how the colors would match when used together. The look is soo pretty! I may have to pick this one up too– the gold liner is gorgeous!
