Lush Cosmetics Lip Scrubs

Dudes, check it out.

Lush has revamped the B line of lip scrubs and is now offering them via the Lush side of the street. Coolness right?

Jump!

At the moment these little guys are only available via Lush UK or within England however I imagine we’ll see them in North America sometime in April, that’s just a guess-timate.

What are they?

These sugar lip scrubs were created to scrub dry, chapped lips and leave behind a softer, kissable pout! Each pot is 4.50 each and available in three different flavors.

“Lush Sweet Lips Lip Scrub is the lip scrub for chocolate fanatics. It smells like a bar of creamy milk chocolate with lots of sugar. Vanilla extract helps the lips to retain moisture, and the rich, deep fragrance of cocoa absolute makes this one of our most irresistible products. Rub it over your lips when they’re feeling the need for some sugar.”

“When you use Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub, you’ll find yourself craving a bowl of mint-chocolate chip ice cream. It’s made with soothing peppermint oil, which will make your lips tingle, and sweet vanilla extract to lock in moisture and protect your lips. Simply rub it over your lips when they’re feeling the need for some sugar.”

“Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub will make your lips smell like our best-selling Snow Fairy shower gel. Bubblegum is made with castor sugar and our delicious vegan flavour to gently exfoliate, keeping your lips smooth and kissably soft. Simply rub it over your lips when they’re feeling the need for some sugar.”

They all sound really yummy but I’m unsure about Bubblegum…hmmm love Snow Fairy but not sure how it would taste in my mouth ya know? Currently debating on an order from England or just waiting until they reach US shores. I’m positive you guys want to hear about them so I’ll probably haul for you so you can hear the good, or bad word.

What do you think?

Interested in a Lush Lip Scrub for yourself?

Available now from Lush UK.

I had the same thoughts about the bubblegum scrub. Hmm.. love the smell but how is it gonna taste?

  • Christine

Ooo I would be interested in the Mint Julip one – I love minty-flavored lip products!

    • the Muse

me too vanessa never indulged in the B ones so quite excited about these 🙂

  • Sarah

Literally, what would i do without you? <3 I love lip scrubs, however i had a bad experience with thebodyshop lip scuff, which is in a tube with a twist thing (lipstick basically) and i accidently squished it putting the lid back on. So at 4.50, these are going to be in my basket tomorrow! 😀 I love lip scrubs, they help to get dry flaky skin off (which looks horrible under lipbalm, gloss,or lipstick)

I visited the UK site and their also doing a deal thing at the moment for 12.50 you can get loads of stuff and samples for! 😀

    xx

Jeepers Scoob! When I first saw the headline, I was about to hop on the PATH down to the Soho store! I will be good though and “patiently” wait until it hits the US. If you do happen to order from the UK, we need the deets dearie! 🙂

    • the Muse

but of course Kat 😀 will do! I remember when B had them they looked unappealing but the new packages and the new flavor appeals may just order 🙂

  • Ally

    Hi Muse 😀
Sounds intriguing! Who doesn’t want soft lips? I wonder how you use them though. I understand that you take a little scrub and rub on your lips.. but what do you do afterwards? Do you rinse it, tissue off, or eat it (lol probably not this one, although ‘sweet lips’ sounds good enough to eat)?

I have a lip scrub from Sara Happ and the description tells you to tissue off but I must be missing something because it gets uber messy with tissue bits and in the process I always seem to ingest some products. Hope Lush ones are easier to use :3

    • the Muse

hey ally simply tissue it off 🙂 you can eat it too if you want lol! I have a sara happ one too, loves! I normally use a wet wash cloth to wipe it clean off as I have same problem with tissues 🙂

  • lyn

I adore all things LUSH and this lip sugar scrubbies look and sound so good! I’ll be heading over to Australia in May and hope they would still be available then. Else, I may need to place an order with LUSH UK. Do you know if it’s permanent? Thanks!

    • the Muse

hey lyn! cute aren’t they!? I hope you get them soon your side of the world! 😀 They should be permanent yes as Lush is taking steps to infuse a little B into their line 🙂

  • beeks

These look cute but I don’t think I’ll be tempted by them. Lip scrubs kind of seem like a waste of money to me, especially ones that are basically sugar in an oil base. I’d be interested to hear how these measure up against a homemade mix of olive oil and white sugar.

    • the Muse

hey beeks I guess you can kinda make your own at home 🙂 but the cute Lush factor pulls me in and the interesting flavors as def can’t make a snow fairy one at home right? :-D!

  • Loaf

I’ve been using the ‘Sweet Lips’ one since B first released it, and was so pleased to see that Lush will be selling these from now on – I can’t live without this stuff. Not keen on the Lush-ified labels, though – think I’ll be decanting back into the B pot because I love the design so much!

    • the Muse

hiya loaf! I didn’t indulge when they were at B Loaf but I’m glad Lush now has ’em as I can grab ’em up! 😀 awww I’ll miss B’s cute packaging le sigh!

  • suz

these sound yummy!! What if I just happen to taste them!? *looks away*

I wish I could find a lip scrub that would change my lip color tone *even though I don’t have that dark lips* I just want my lips a shade pinker and brighter. I know Asian countries have products for lips..but haven’t tried any!

Have you Muse? if so do a review, please 🙂

    • the Muse

LOL Suz go right ahead they are natural 😀 shouldn’t be a problem if you have a little nibble 🙂 Hmmmm maybe try a lip primer and a nice shade of pink lipstick or stain!?

no lip scrubs sadly that change lip color 🙂 have you tried something like smashbox o-gloss? maybe that would be good too hun!

  • Bonnie

Hmmm…not sure about these. Do you think I could use the scrubs on my rough elbows and knees instead?!! 🙂

    • the Muse

hey bonnie! Mmmm prob yes but it won’t do too much as it’s a gentler formula for your lips 🙂

  • Gemma

I just got one of these today, i saw them at the till when i was treating myself to a few magic mushroom bubble bars. I choose the bubble gum one as it smells like snow fairy. I am liking it a lot, iv never tried a lip scrub before but i love it all the dry flakey bits have vanished. Plus the bubble gum one tastes nice. I may go back and get the other two. They are not harsh at all and my lips looked a bit plumper and a more rosy colour.

    • the Muse

gemma so jealous I wants one! 😀 how’s it taste? I was worried it would be soapy as snow fairy seems weird one ya know? lovely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we are all jealous! WANT 🙂

  • AllyD

Eeeek, I went into Lush after work today on a total whim and got sucked into buying one of these (I’m in the UK). I don’t like mint flavoured things so I steered clear of that. The bubblegum one smelt very sweet but not unappealingly so. I ended up with Sweet Lips because it tasted better than the bubblegum!!! Hahahaha

It’s quite a loose consistancy – not quite a paste – so you just pinch a little out of the jar and rub it into your lips. WARNING – do this before you get ready to go out because I managed to get it all down the front of my t-shirt (like I do when I eat a doughnut!).

Afterwards my lips felt soft and smooth so thumbs up from me.

Hope it makes its way to US shores soon so you can share the joy – but then again there are so many brands we don’t have access to here that we want…

PS – I licked mine off but if you don’t want the calories then it will easily wipe off with a tissue because it isn’t sticky. Licking it off probably isn’t the best thing to do but it’s hard to resist!

  • Gemma

It tastes like sugar. It feels like you have eaten a doughnut and tastes a bit like that too. I don’t think it tastes soapy but there is only a tiny amount on your lips, maybe if you got carried away it might. I wanna try the others now, i smelt them they didn’t smell as interesting as bubble gum. I must say they do the their job well regardless of taste my lips have been lovely and smooth all day.

    • the Muse

ooo gemma sounds yums! sounds fab! I have dry/cracked lips in the Winter so these will be a treat!

  • Lyn

4.50 pounds so much cheaper than sara hopp.

i still haven’t bought sara hopps lib scrub, wonder if this is as good.

    • the Muse

lyn agreed much cheaper than the sara happ one 😀 It’s great. I wrote a review a few months ago just search 🙂

  • Bakeneko

I found B’s a bit too crumbly and messy but they smell gorgeous and they work well 🙂

    • the Muse

bakeneko I never tried the B one’s always was fixated on the makeup part of B 🙂 sure do wish I did though as now I am craving these!

  • Rena

I love Lush, but this is something that we’d be able to DIY no? Organic raw sugar, honey and olive oil anyone. Looked it up its about $8 on the UK site. I won’t say no to this as a gift but I’ll DIY now save some money. I probably can make a whole tub with $8 from the supermarket, plus if I can’t finish it as a scrub at least I can safely eat mine, just a thought =P.

    • the Muse

hey rena I guess but I’m not much of a DIY’er in the beauty world 😀 I’d much rather buy it with a nice packaging and a cool lushy flavor 😀

From what I can understand you can eat these too as Lush is vegan/organic 🙂

  • Anne

    Hey Ladies,

I’m in the US and I have been ordering from the UK site. Actually it is cheaper on some products (even though the pound is worth more the dollar). The only thing is shipping. But surprisingly if you stay below a certain weight, use Royal and US mail, it is just a bit more than the US website. Also credit cards will automatically pay in the currency (mine for ~$2 fee).

But on to the good stuff…I recently ordered Mint Julips. I decieded to try it cause literally there where few to no bad reviews on the website. I LOVE IT. Yes its pricey and you could make it yourself, but in the winter it a “needed” luxary. It is messy…you should put a bit on you r lips and rub your lips together. If you scrub with your finger it kind of falls off. And yes you can eat it. All the ingredients are edible. If you don’t mind eating the stuff off your lips (kind of icky), but if not just rub it off. For me my lips are now smoother and I just apply it to soften them, so I lick it off. It takes delicious. Like some of the reviews say, you will actually want to keep using it. To me Mint Julips has a hint of vanilla flavor, but reminds me (and my mom:) of the flavor of Wrigley’s Spearmint gum. And it also has the additive benefit of the peppermint oil being breath freshening. I can’t wait to try the others. (When a treat is deserved:)

    • the Muse

hi anne I order from the Uk site all the time and it basically evens out to the same you’d pay from NA 😀 so it’s def worth it and yes your CC def gets charged a conversion rate but it’s worth it. I’ve been reading reviews that it was a tad too dry but I still think it sounds lovely 😀 thanks for your mini review!

  • hannah
