My Beauty Diary Chocolate Mask Review

Golly I didn’t realize we had so many My Beauty Diary Mask fans! Yay! Such a pleasure to discuss good product with you guys. After my initial review of the My Beauty Diary Cooling Masks I decided to go ahead and start reviewing others in my stash as many of you asked after them.

My Beauty Diary Chocolate Mask 5

Today I thought I’d do one of my other favs from the line which are the My Beauty Diary Chocolate Mask.

Jump!

Yes, they do smell like chocolate. I admit the novelty of a chocolate scented mask is totally cute but it’s not the only great thing about them.

My Beauty Diary Chocolate Mask 1

What is it?

It’s a saturated sheet mask filled with cocoa and coffee extract plus lemon, sweet orange, cranberry, and sugar. All the ingredients work to nourish the skin, moisturize it, and revive dull, rough skin that lacks resilience.

The chocolate mask is one of my favorites because I like to use them at the very end of my night prior to bed. An hour before I go to sleep I make sure I have a freshly washed face and proceed to sit around with the mask on my face for 40 minutes. I remove and wait an extra 20 minutes for all the goodness to absorb into my skin. I follow up with my serum, night cream, and eye cream.

My Beauty Diary Chocolate Mask 7

Come morning my face is gorgeous. It literally glows. My skin is known for going dull on occasion and this revitalizes it, wakes it up, and creates a beautifully dewy finish. It’s quite like my skin is 10 years younger!

I really love this one and it’s a favorite from the range. If you haven’t tried my Beauty Diary Masks I highly recommend checking them out.

Loves it!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. • the Muse

LOL…the name of it would make me want to take off the mask and eat it!! I love beauty diary masks….never got the chocolate…*what if I eat it, if I get it?*

      • suz

tell me how it tastes when you do and if you do!! 😀

hahah I meant to say *what if I eat it, when I get it?* typos too many at work…lol….had crazy day…people!!!!

        • the Muse

LOL suz haven’t gone that far yet 😀 but def tempted by the smell/scent haha! aw no worries I have those days daily my brain works faster than my fingers!

  • mary_in_wonder

ah no! You beat me to reviewing it!
Okay, I haven’t used mine yet…it just sits in my drawer LOL

  • Christine

Wow, I’ve never seen a chocolate cooling mask! This is awesome – I know so many people who would LOVE trying these out (including me!). This is bad, Muse – my wallet is slimming down FAST this month :p

    • the Muse

hey christine oh it doesn’t cool hun just has a chocolate scent, very subtle. 😀 hehe sorries!

  • Vonvon

Love MBD masks. But haven’t tried the Chocolate masks. Japanese Cherry Blossom and Mixed Berry are great too. And Mixed Berry gives an instant firming effect too.

    • the Muse

hey vonvon hate the smell of JSB but love how it whitens up my face a bit 😀

  • Stef

Hi muse! Do you wash your face after you’ve removed the facemask!? Because i have the same mask but im not sure whether i should!

    Thanks

    • the Muse

no stef…that would kinda defeat the purpose of the mask hun. Use it and let the essense soak in 🙂 don’t wash it off. Hope this helps!

      • stef

Heheh that was what i did and i couldnt see much difference, thank you so much MUSE! 😀

        • the Muse

your most welcome stef. I guess it depends on what your skin was like going in. I use it when my skin is being extra dull. right before going to bed. 60 minutes, pat on the rest, and proceed to sleep on it and wake up glowing 🙂

  • Adrian

I like to wear these masks for at least 30 minutes, or until they start to peel away from my face. That was I know I’m soaking in most of the essence. The first few times I followed with my normal night routine, but felt that was too much for my skin. Now I just add an eye cream. I am so enamored of these that I even have a basket in my linen closet devoted to MBD masks. Thank you for reviewing and spreading the word.

  • Ricci

    Is it like Lush’s Mask?
I have sensative skin.. I wonder if this would flare up my skin

    • the Muse

hi ricci like a lush mask? no hun. lush makes cream masks not sheet masks. Not sure on sensitive skin, I’d avoid just to be safe as it does contain a whole lot of everything.

  • Liz

I’m quite a fan of sheet masks, and My Beauty Diary has a good selection, not to mention it’s from my native country! 🙂
I also like Divinia, a Taiwanese brand made exclusively for Watsons (Watsons Taiwan perhaps).

  • su-pah

Oh cool, I have a pack of these masks too.
At first I was a little apprehensive, I mean, chocolate beauty products for me mean they have to have something else chocolatey about them as well as the scent. e.g. lip balm, has to have a choc-coloured, creamy formula etc. So I thought this would be weird, but it’s ok, has a fresh, faint chocolate scent, which is cool.

the mask itself seems great but doesn’t seem to moisturise too well, at least not as well as Japanese masks like Kanebo and Kose.

    • the Muse

su-pah I agree I was weirded out at first but the scent is very subtle 😀 I thought it offered nice moisture not bad at all 😀

      • su-pah

Oooh wheee! So happy, my MBD cherry blossom and bulgarian rose masks have come and LOVE the bulgarian rose.
I contains collagen, halyuronic acid, pineapple, rosewater, obviously bulgarian rose extract and sooo much more! i’ll defo count this in my must-have, VITAL sheet masks list.
cherry blossom, defo, i mean, i like cherry blossom ANYTHING, it’s unconditional love! ^^

        • the Muse

hey su-pah bulgarian rose are awesome :_D i love cherry blossom but the scent kinda makes me a little woozy 🙂 ha!

  • dark nyx

Hi Muse! Loooong time not talk! I love My Beauty Diary masks too! I’ve actually only used the black pearl and white truffle one. I’ve been deciding on if I should try this one too! I might but a two pack of these and try it out. The individual packaging is so cute!

    • the Muse

hey dark nyx how are you!? long time! I like the Black Pearl too 😀 the white truffle as well! 😀 I’d buy it if your skin is a bit dull and in need of a little help 😀 I agree with the cute mini chocolate bars too sweet!

  • Tracy
