Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector Review

Neutrogena takes a note from Bobbi Brown with a brand new Skin Brightening concealer…hmmmm for shame do I see a Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener in the works here?

Jump!

Well.

Word of advice.

Never ever market a product as being multitasking when it can’t cut it.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector is supposed to brighten and conceal, not so much.

Here’s the scoop.

If you’re crazy young minus dry eyes, dark circles, puff, and general eye problem woes, I’d say you could possibly get away with loving Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector. It’s creamy, it blends well enough due to it’s heavily moisturizing formula, and yo, it has an SPF 25, love that sun protection.

If you’re old, like the Muse, you’ll take note this is not for you. Personally I found the product barely pigmented so brightening and concealing of any kind is not happening here. The formula is fantastic, particularly for dry eyes, as it’s rich and creamy and blends nicely for a drugstore brand concealer. Dubbing it as a brightener and a concealer does it a disservice because it’s NOT going to conceal anything or at least it didn’t in my case. The product simply lacks the pigmentation to perform as a hard core tool of concealing joy for this Muse. Brightening? Barely. I didn’t see much of anything going on in the ways of brightening.

Overall, it’s lack of pigmentation is what kills the product. As I mentioned above, if you’re younger and not sporting luggage and dark circles this may very well work out but over 30’s and dark circle chicas, don’t bother. Great design with the click pen, SPF 25 (yay!), quite a generous portion of concealer, price is iffy ($13.99) for me since it turned into a no bueno product…just not feeling the love.

Sorry Neutrogena, can’t thumbs up this guy!

Anyone try it?

    It’s a pass!!

I don’t understand why women.. want to “conceal” their dark circles, baggy eyes, and puffiness..I understand those problems may make one look old, tired and other things but why conceal when you know at the end of the day the problems will remain. I guess to me…I rather tackle the problem with products to improve those conditions rather than hide them. So I am never out looking for concealers but rather I love hunting for products to correct/improve dark circles, puffiness , etc :/…and the products I’ve come across have actually improved and even gotten rid of a lot of ugly dark circles…but one product is actually for the face not sure if it’s suppose to be used on the eye…*I tested my mother* 😀

*okay I’ll shut it now* 😀

    • the Muse

hey suz. Sorry hun but I can not leave my house without concealer 😀 hehe. The thing is I’ve used ALOT of problem both cheap and expensive to tackle these problems and honestly not alot works in the long run so concealer really is a good too for making oneself look fresh and awake 😀

If you’ve found products that tackle all of these problems you’re damn lucky 😀 I haven’t found my HG for tackling puffiness and fine lines. I’ve tried alot of great stuff but nothing that completely cures these things :-D!

      • suz

oh yeah have you tried pop popular whitening cream? I believe its from Taiwan but forget…that’s the product I use…lately haven’t since I don’t have dark circles…and made my mom use on her dark circles and it really lightened her eyes significantly…I mean her eyes were dark and I mean dark..but I swear it’s like she didn’t even have darkness around her eye.

It’s not SUPPOSE to be for the eye…but didn’t really care and went ahead and tried it…:/

        • the Muse

no suz unable to find it. I asked a friend but she’s not familiar got a page/link!? anything to lighten skin I’m on it 😀

  • sonia

I think I still haven’t found a good one for me…I have mac, tarte, etc…but…i dont know…lol…wich one works well for you?

    • the Muse

hey sonia. I’m always rotating concealers constantly. How old are you might I ask? I’m in my 30’s and love the Bobbi Brown Concealer Palette also adore Kevin Beautymaker concealer and shills. Have reviews up around here 😀 MAC and Tarte aren’t my top picks in the realms of concealer 😀

      • suz

sorry to bud in….wow you freaking are lying! you are NOT in your 30’s! you freaking look DAMN GR8 for your age. I swear I thought you couldn’t be over 25!!! O_o

        • the Muse

LOL suz. thanks doll! 😀 I LOVE you too! I am indeed sadly 😀 I’m over 30 😀 and heading down the hill! but you ROCK for saying different *hugs*

    • the Muse

you are most welcome sonia 😀 awww you are TOO KINDthank you 😀 my eyes are the same puff, fine lines, etc…way too old for me sometimes 🙁

  • Cindy

Didnt like this conceler – im a YSL fan, but not the price so i thought the same concept would be cool! this didnt brighten but made it greyish?

  • Katerina

What shade is the one that you have on the pictures? I use this to cover the orangish tint of my bobbi brown concealer, those two combined cover my horrible hereditary dark circles.

  • Katie

Is yours super watery? Is that normal..I shook it and everything and it was still watery when it came out

    • the Muse

not supposed to be watery katie…sounds like it separated which means it’s prob a very old product. Toss it hun.
