Pieces of Life: The Muse’s New Year’s Resolutions 2010
Lord I do a resolution post every year and when I look back on my posts from years back it seems that I’m still not achieving most of my goals. Drink more water? Hasn’t happened. I will stop being a pack rat? That’s working out real well if my crazy makeup stash is anything to go by. I will work on my relationship more, well lord knows my relationship whipped me good last year.
But like all citizens I’ve made up my resolutions and I’m going to try to stick with them.
Jump!
- Want Not, Waste Not.
Last year, much to my horror, I let my stash get away from me a bit and ended up tossing out quite a few bits of beauty in the garbage. I’m normally very well organized in this regard and anything that’s not being used gets swapped or given away prior to it going off. For some reason I became terribly disorganized suddenly. This year I really want to buckle down and get myself back to my original glory days of organization. I shall tame the beast!
- Blog It Better.
Blogging beauty is so incredibly fun. I love doing it. It’s not a full time gig but simply a great hobby and a love that I happen to share with dozens of people. When I originally started my blog much of my personality was thrown into posts with pieces of life and plenty of wit plus my heavy sarcastic sense of humor that some people got or…didn’t. This year I really want to get some of that back. Lately I feel like my posts are not nearly as witty and humorous as they once were and I have hopes I can regain some of those good times. I resolve to blog it better in the future and make it as fun as it was when I originally started.
- You’ve Got Mail!
Since I started my blog my inbox has become a breeding ground for e-mails gone wild. So many wonderful people e-mail me but I just don’t have the time to answer them all. My inbox is disorganized, a hot mess, and pure chaos. I really wish I could simply delete it all and start fresh. Since I can’t rightfully do all that I am hopeful I can become better organized this year….I doubt it but it’s always on my list of resolutions.
- Go Back Abroad!
I started out life on my blog reviewing mostly Asian cosmetics because that happened to be where my readership lay and my heart. To this day I choose to believe that my Asian readers were the ones who kept me reviewing, kept me babbling. Somewhere along the way I started concentrating on US brands exclusively since my audience became more dominantly US based. I really aim to bring back Asian beauty and cosmetics, it has a rightful home on Musings and deserves VIP attention. This year, exchange rate willing, I aim to bring in more Asian Collection reviews as it’s definitely been lacking around here.
- Life, The Universe, and Everything Really!
I don’t think I have goals to achieve this year because I feel like I’m on the right track in life at the moment. I have a successful business, I rarely frown, my life is filled with alot of laughter, plenty of friends and family, and I have just about everything I want to have at this point in life. I can’t rightfully say I want to change much or resolve to change much in my personal life. The only thing I’d change would be to remind myself more often how grateful and thankful I am to be here, to wake up in the morning to experience life.
- The Best and Worst of 2009
The best thing that happened to me this year was moving Musings of a Muse to WordPress. It was long over do and I’m happy I did it.
The worst thing that happened to me is I lost Jonny.
I guess that’s about in regards to resolutions. I don’t have a huge list this year since I tend to make my list and end up breaking much of it. Most times my list is comprised of ways to organize myself a bit better or to put myself on a do not buy makeup ban…but honestly that would be rather unwise of me as I’d have nothing to babble about with you right?
What are some of your resolutions this year?
How do you aim to make your personal and your makeup life a bit better?
Share ’em but remember once you list them here you’ll have to come back next year to see if you stuck to them!
