Rosette Hello Kitty Hyaluronic Acid Gel Review

The Muse was kinda feeling the love for the new Rosette Hello Kitty Skincare Collection and she admits to overindulging in the lot. I didn’t really need this stuff as I’m busy plotting a rather large Skin Food order at the moment but who can resist Hello Kitty?

Jump!

Rosette is an inexpensive line of skincare available within Japan. They created a limited edition Hello Kitty line which includes facial cleansers, a peel, and a moisturizer. I recently ordered the moisturizer, peel, and collagen facial cleanser for my own collection because as I said I couldn’t resist Hello Kitty, so kawaii! I got all of it off of JpMon for close to retail prices but I have seen it in various online shops and E-bay but the prices are obscene in my humblest opinion. If you’re interested in the collection I suggest seeing my JpMon Tutorial and ordering directly as for example the Rosette Hello Kitty Hyaluronic Acid Gel retails for 1,480 yen and is available from JPmon for 599TWD, that’s a mere $2 USD more than retail so as you can see the best deal is JPmon where as online sellers have it marked up as high as $25 USD.

Rosette Hello Kitty Hyaluronic Acid Gel is free of fragrance and mineral oil and acts as a lotion, essence, emulsion, and cream. The Japanese and most Asian countries are big on several step skin care systems so this actually produces the same results as you would get using the one product rather than hauling out four. Hyaluronic Acid Gel is considered one of the gentlest ways to treat fine lines and wrinkles. I have neither on my face but I liked the idea of a gel moisturizer for lighter makeup days. The gel is quite thick and does feel slightly sticky on the face but it absorbs fairly quickly and easily so any tackiness is brief. It’s moisturizing and offers quick hydration to my skin and works quite a treat as a night treatment as my face is dewy in the AM after use. I could easily see this becoming a nice night cream treatment for me when I’m not wanting to indulge in my richer creams.

It comes in a simple white jar with a Hello Kitty face on the front. No references to the brand are made which is simply darling to me as after you use the gel you can store other skincare inside or little knick knacks if you so please without having an ugly label splashed across the front.

It’s pretty nice for dry skin in my opinion as the gel is quite thick and moisturizing. A dab before makeup, used as a primer, will easy rid your face of flakes and dry patches.

Overall, I can’t speak for what it’s doing for fine lines and wrinkles but it does a fine job of offering extra moisture to my face plus the package tickles me!

Cutes, loves it! I’ll be reviewing the cleanser and peel for you in a future review so stay tuned.

yay you did a review before I get this yay…I’ve been eyeing this for sometime now…so I’ll definitely get it!!

    • the Muse

Suz it’s worth it for the cute packaging alone 😀 plus the gel is actually quite nice when I’m not wanting to do an emulsion, essence, moisturizer, etc…quick dab and go!

      • suz

mostly likely I will get it for my mom..she has dry skin..me I am grease ball…so none needed…:D I just got my etude house sherbet gel..so gotta test that out for the spring time.

        • the Muse

aw def too rich for oily skin suz 😀 tell me whatcha think. I have the entire range and like it for summer 🙂

  • Laura

Very cute, but I just can’t get past the word ‘acid’, on my face? No thanks!

      • Laura

I suppose, they’ve just put it in the title for this product instead of hiding it in the ingredients list!

        • the Muse

hi laura there aren’t trying to hide anything? They want you to know it contains Hyaluronic Acid as it’ll see easily with that in the title 🙂 People are purchasing it because of that ingredient. It’s a gentle, effective way of removing fine lines and wrinkles…I can’t say if it works as thankfully fine lines haven’t hit my face yet but it’s basically it’s much like the collagen of your own skin but packaged up in a skin care product 🙂 It’s quite popular and not harmful to your face.

          Hope this helps!

  • Inês

Hyaluronic Acid is the new black XD The gel does look yummy!

Btw, have you tried the Hada Labo H.A. range, including the famous lotion? It’s on the top of my February wishlist!

    • the Muse

ines can you believe the way HA is storming the skin care world? Especially in Europe/Asia!!!!!!! Hada Labo is incredible 😀 want a review?!

      • Inês

Really, it seems I’m the last one to catch up on the hype! If it wouldn’t bother you so, I would, please 🙂 I have to wait until February to get it because 1) I’m broke 2) on Adambeauty it’s sold out XD Until then, I can drool with your review!

  • Kate

This is so cute. I want it for the jar alone. Is it a hassle to order it? I couldn’t read anything on their website.

    • the Muse

hi kate there is a link for a tutorial in this post hope it helps you order 🙂

  • su-pah

Not bad at all, halyuronic acid was always shisheido’s (skincare) special ingredient, was what made their skincare amazing, but now the cat’s outta the bag (pun unintentional) and it’s everywhere!
I love this, such and interesting product, seriously! it’s supposed to be awesome for wrinkles and stuff, but i suppose it all depends on how much is in there really…

    • the Muse

su-pah it was one reason I adore the night cream, I felt like I was bulletproofing my face against aging lol! I wish I could say but sadly they won’t tell us 😀

  • Tammy

Omg, super kawaii! I love Hello Kitty so this is right up my alley. I love reading your blog not only because you’re fun, but because you introduce me to so many international brands! Loves it!

    • the Muse

me too Tammy totally thrilled by Hk!!!!!!!!! aw thanks hun! *hugs* so glad you’re getting an education on the finer line of products available abroad!

  • Ivo

Woohoo, the packaging is so cute. I like every little thing about Rosette Hello Kitty range, ohhh not to forget I love Rosette Hello Kitty Peel too.

To Laura, not every acid product-by-name is acidic in nature. Hyaluronic acid is a part of glycosaminoglycan (GAG) that makes up the collagen in skin. Thus, it is good. Hehe.

To Muse, you also can purchase this from yesstyle.com (coz’ I bought my peel there).

    • the Muse

haha ivo great minds think alike was just replying about Hyalurinic acid 🙂

The packaging just thrills me 🙂 I like the peel as well but I’m always skeptical of Asian peels are actually doing anything for my skin 🙂 It was a bit $$ on yesstyle so I ended up going with JpMon 🙂 but thanks!

  • Star

I love your Asian makeup reviews! Have you seen the new shade of Missha Perfect cover in #31 Golden Beige? Could you do a review of that if you have it? Thanks!

    • the Muse

hi star, thanks I’m so glad you enjoy them! I already have Missha Perfect Cover in #21. I love review requests but this one I probably won’t be doing as it’s kinda pointless for me to review a product that isn’t my shade. That’s kinda like asking for a review of MAC foundation in NC50 or some other shade that doesn’t fit my skin tone 🙂 I’m sorry! #31 just looks a little too darker than I’m willing to go.

  • Sarah

This is completely off topic sorry! But to UK bloggers, Urban decay Hall of Fame (XL primer potion, lip gloss, nude lipstick and mascara (minis) and Super Stash 24/7 mini eyeliner’s x about 7 is 9 on HOUSEOFFRAISER! 🙂 This is literally robbing them, as a normal sized primer is around 11, so an XL for 9 AND all that other stuff to try out. 🙂

    xx
