Stila continues on the path of awesome with the latest release in their Crush Lip and Cheek Stain line. Stila Yumberry Crush is the latest shade released for Spring and is fourth in a line of great little lip and cheek stains in this Muse’s humble opinion. This is probably my favorite crush to date as the shade is a pretty, cool shade of innocent pink that should flatter most any tone (it even worked on my sis who’s considerably darker than me!).

If you aren’t familiar with the crush line here’s a quickie recap. The Stila Crush line are a series of clickable pen style applicators with brush that distribute a pop of gel stain that can be brushed onto lips or cheeks for a flush of color. As I mentioned the latest shade, Yumberry Crush, joins three others which are Cherry, Pomegranate, and Mango.

Yumberry is the coolest to date and creates a soft, subtle hint of pink on cheeks and lips or can be built up for a lasting pop of pink that creates that illusion of stepping in from a cold night or a blushing cheek after being kissed.

The formula is gel and blends easily on face with a pigmented finish. It has a fruity taste much like the actual yumberry fruit! The formula reacts with the pH of your skin to create a perfect shade of pink according to Stila. On my skin it turned a true shade of innocent pink and on my sister it was a dark reddish pink. I thought the formula interesting this time around as it has a pearly pink look.

Overall, it’s an utter winner for me and a total Muse Approval for purchase. If you love the Stila Crush line I’m not doubting you’ll want to add this to your current stash. I find each stain released gets better and better. The natural flush of color Yumberry provides is both flattering and natural, ideal for the warmer weather of Spring ahead and perfect for the girl who likes a minimal makeup look.

Of course I have already ordered it! I love the Cherry and Pomegranate, although I only use them on my lips- I’m strickly a powder blush girl for some reason. Thanks for the review and swatches- can’t wait to get mine!

sasha you’ll love it for your lips as it’s not as bright as cherry and pom. I always look like I drank kool aid after using either on my lips, this is softer :-D

Come back tell me what you think? Would love to hear your thoughts!

I tried the Cherry when it came out and it was way too bright for me! Anything that adjusts to a person’s own chemistry always turns fuschia on me (that includes the “everyone else loves it” Dior Lip Glow), but this looks like it might be safe.

hey kristina I find the chemistry thing doesn’t always work, seems like it’s the same shade on everyone but this did have a different finish in color on my skin compared to my sis :-D awww sorry about the Dior Lip Glow I heard tales of fuschia! this could be definitely lighter especially compared to Cherry!

I’d say swatchie at Sephora 1st before buying!

i thought stila isn’t going to release new stuff and i am wrong of course. it’s a dying brand in my mind for some reason. this is rather lovely but i don’t think it’s a must-have judging from your swatch and FOTD. beautiful and refreshing but it’s quite ordinary. Stila is like that, all the same stuff again and again so i lost interests…

thanks for the report though!

aww jojoba sorry to hear you say that! I absolutey adore the latest releases from Stila. It’s been a great run since Spring of last year! The foundation they releases for Spring this year is a total winner plus the eye palette, etc…can’t say a bad thing about 2010 :-D

My pleasure and sorry you aren’t feeling the love hun!

These look so cute (so do you Muse with it on your cheeks!) ! I want one! Funny though that it changes to pH of skin… sounds a bit bogus? (Reminds me of Smashbox O-glow claims) But it would probably look different according to skin tone I suppose.

aw thanks Marcy *hugs* Mmmm I’ve always found color changing glosses/blushes a bit strange as some don’t work…this does have different effects on different tones though as on me it’s very cool pink and my sis it’s warmer reddish pink :-D true could be just the tone that’s doing the changing!

Is it pinky pink like Posie Tint? Can you do a side by side swatching?

Reply

the Muse January 27, 2010 at 1:07 am

hi laura will try to get some side by side up for ya. it’s more pink that posie tint. I find posie tint subtle, this has more pigment :-D

hope this helps!
