Bare Escentuals Mini Matte Buffing Brush Review

Calling all matte lovers! Calling all Bare Minerals lovers!

Bare Minerals Mini Matte Buffing Brush wants to guest start in your purse for quickie touch ups on the fly.

Love BE?

Than take the jump!

Bare Minerals has introduced a limited edition, mini buffing brush that’s pre-filled with your choice of six shades of the newly released Bare Minerals Matte Foundation with SPF 15.

Pretty sleek right?

It’s a twist up design which features a mini kabuki brush for buffing on foundation. Product flows directly to the brush via a tiny tube which locks in place during application and after to prevent leaking. Packaging wise it should appeal to many BE fans who have always wanted to tote around their minerals but were too scared of the mess. For the anal germ-a-phone like the Muse who are questioning, “but how do I wash the brush?” No worries, it pops right out for a quick clean and go.

The new matte formula features SPF 15 and is designed to absorb excess oil and eliminate shine for a matte, flawless finish. I’m kinda shocked as I tested it out and didn’t get a case of the itchies. It’s been a while since I’ve tested the Bare Minerals waters because I tend to break out when I use it. I was naturally a tiny bit wary going into this but was quite delighted it didn’t break me out, make me feel itchy, or feel mask-like on my face. I noticed the product didn’t flow so well to the brush so you do need to tap it a little bit to get it rolling.

All in all it’s not going to make me change my mind about mineral foundation that’s for sure hehe, as I’m just not a mineral user but anyone who simply adores Bare Minerals will probably love the idea of toting along their foundation with them, because hey as we all know minerals aren’t the easiest to tote around nor are they mess free, this all in one will keep your Bare Minerals tucked right into a portable brush, happy days! And when you’re done? Refill it with your favorite BE foundation and start all over again.

Available now for $29 from www.bareescentuals.com

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Hello Musey!!
I just wanted to pop in and tell you that there are essence products on the ULTA website!! I’m gonna go check out my store sometime this week and see if we have it yet! 😀

    xoxo Kenzie.

hey kenzie sorry for the delayed reply *smacks forehead* I know! 😀 did you haul!?

This is pretty neat, though I’ll admit I’ve never been a fan of mineral makeup either (too messy).

    • the Muse

aexa I don’t use it b/c it makes me itchy! yak! Thankfully it wasn’t the case with matte but most minerals make me feel like I have an army of ants crawling around my face 😀

I still have the first compact that they put out– the more clamshell design, with a plastic lid that keeps the powder in just fine… Until you open the compact to use it. Then you get the ‘powder keg’ effect, aka ‘the POOF’. Not the way I want to powder my nose!

I’ve been thinking a lot about this, since I like mineral makeup, and this looks like it would control the POOF of mineral makeup. Plus, there’s no rule that I’d have to fill it up with BareMineral product!

OMG me too tango I actually thought that was incredible at the time of purchase but yes lol it gets a little messy sometimes 😀 That’s true 😀

I love Bare Minerals – so I really like the idea of this brush. Better than toting around my whole container of foundation and brush. I might get it to try it. Muse, I think I know why it makes you itchy. I used BE once years ago, and it made me itchy, made me break out, made me miserable. I tried it again a few months ago, but with my OWN brush, not the brush that came in the kit. And it worked wonders. Then I decided to try it with the brush you get. And the brush is what makes me break out. I’ve tested the theory a bunch of times. If you use your own brush, you might get better results. Hopefully they changed the formula in the brush this time around or it’ll get returned!

hey norlyn! Sorry for the delayed reply. Def nice to tote it around isn’t it? 😀 really? Interesting. Someone said it was some of the ingreds but I find the matte seems to like my skin, no breaking out PHEW! I prob have some laying around maybe I’ll give another go with my own brush, cheers 😀

hi nancy I wear BB Cream, it’s essentially a cream foundation base. Minerals make me itchy, make my dry skin look patchy, and also make me feel like I’m wearing a mask 😛 I just haven’t found one I love.
