About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I just got the new volume masacara and is it possible, I like it more now that I have seen a video on how to use the funky little wand? Thank you for this post. :* also digging viva la diva – fab packaging.

  • Anissa

This might be a bit off topic, but it is related to websites and cosmetics. D Are their products fresh? Because their stuff is so much cheaper than other stores, I am afraid that their items might be on clearance or going to expire soon.

    • the Muse

hi anissa that shop has CRAZY jacked up prices 😀 Not sure where you seen anything cheap on there but it’s all jacked up 40-50% or more.

      • Anissa

Really? I was looking at the Kose Sekkisei Day Essence and it is listed as $39, but ebay has it for over $40. Maybe I wasn’t paying attention to the size. Oh….ok. I guess I will check elsewhere. Thanks!

        • the Muse

yes very much so anissa. I’ve looked on the site before and she is charging 3 times or more on some items…!

hey there…really they are? wow…..! no worries he’ll be heading to Japan soon for a restock on Spring 2011. Currency is Jiao or Hong Kong Dollar so converting from HKD to USD 🙂 it’s about $15 usd on a $100 hkd at the moment probs 🙂 you can always check the current conversion rate prior to purchase though just to be safe as yen and sterling have been upppp upppp uppp lately so hkd will be on the rise too I imagine, although at a more slower rate.

ugh! thankfully not that much here, it’s already started to disappear! but a storm brewing for Thursday they said 😛 be careful if you do go out 🙁

      • Alli

Thanks Muse! As usual, you are very helpful! I think I can handle waiting for him to restock… (hopefully…heehee), but now I know how to convert etc… I had just figured it all out for ordering from LushUK~ Thanks for the info… looking forward to trying the mascara!

  • Lee Castillio

Hi there! So happy you write about the Swedish brand Viva la Diva. I’m from Sweden and I use it all the time. I just love their eye shadow and use their Starlight Collection all the time. People abroad often ask me what brand I use and when I tell them they don’t seem to know about it at all. Also I use a lot of Isadora products. I think their mascaras are the best.

Wow, just found your site when I googled “Viva la Diva”, and must say your site is gorgeous! Keep up the good work! 🙂

    • the Muse

hi lee! aw thanks! I’m so glad you like the site! I wish I can get Viva La Diva easily here in the US but unfortunately not 🙁 the brand is so pretty! also Isadora is another brand that proves difficult to get in the US sigh 🙁 but what a great brand, agreed! Nice meeting you! 😀

Hay, iam looking for a brand of cosmetics from Europe, I was given a cleanser years ago and it was the best one I have ever had!! But now I can’t find the brand, and iam not 100% sure what it’s called (a real stab in the dark I know) but it was some thing like Sergio Mediterranean??? It had a white label with an olive green stripe across the top, iam sure the cleanser was either lettuce, cucumber, or another veg/fruit. If anyone has come across a brand that sounds similar I would be very grateful if you could point me in the right direction 🙂
