Beauty Most Unusual: Twist N Roll Tweezer

I gotta say the Twist N Roll Tweezer kinda sorta fits into my Beauty Most Unusual category.

Jump!

Let’s get this straight.

It’s a spring that blends and removes facial hair. It sounds painful. Kinda like getting your arm hair caught in a rubber band or a slinky (remember slinky? It’s slinky, it’s slinky!), believe you me I’ve gotten arm hair stuck in a slinky a time or two.

So you take it and roll it and twist it around your face to remove unwanted stray hair. I’m not terribly convinced I want to do that and besides what’s wrong with my tweezers anyway, it does the same thing!

Twist N Roll Tweezer Beauty Most Unusual?

You tell me!

I’ve been thinking about trying this (stupid fuzzy sideburns), but it looks so damn painful.

  • Laura

Why is she removing hair from her cheeks and chin in that video? Is she trying to cultivate a beard? What a strange product!

  • mayrei

I guess the idea is that it removes several hairs at once, unlike tweezers. Still, very odd! I kinda want to try it. I wonder if it would work on legs?

  • Laura

Why is she using it on her cheeks and chin? Is she trying to cultivate a beard? What a strange product!

  • Apple

    Hey, it’s the epistick!!

At first I thought it was bizarre, but it honestly works! It works so well for the upper lip.

    Unusual? Yes.
    Effective? Definitely.

  • kate

I’ll be giving this contraption a wide berth. I’ve also caught my arm hair in a slinky, and there is no way I’m going to repeat that experience intentionally on my face. (Its hard enough for me to get my eyebrows waxed!)

    • the Muse

LOL kate glad I’m not alone! can you imagine? slinky for your upper lip! 😀

  • Barbara E.

That thing is weird! It was only like $3 on ebay so i figured why not try it and it doesn’t seem to work! Oh and when you do get lucky enough to get a hair in there it does hurt. Tweezers are a much better idea.

    • the Muse

hey barbara no likey! sounds crazy painful to me lol thank god it was only 3 bucks right?

  • Coral

I remember seeing those! Theyl seem painful to me and not at all nearly as precise as tweezers. What if you don’t get all the hairs in one go.
I get my eyebrows threaded, and it took me some time to get used to it. They use string…I’m not so sure how metal would feel.

    • the Muse

hey coral I agree they are just scary and look painful! Thread here too and I’ve gotten used to it rather quickly not it’s but a sting 🙂

  • Resa

Yeah that looks like a bit of a torture device to me. I’ll stick to my waxing and threading, thank you.

  • cherrysoftness

Miss muse! Omg this could give me nightmares! Just looking at it give me that instant-eye-mist of pain feeling!

  • Ashley

I have one but… I’ll stick to threading. The EpiStick doesn’t get rid of EVERY hair & it’s painful ;(

    • the Muse

ouchie Ashley not good. Think I’ll stick to threading as well once I heard that 🙁

  • jackieg02

I have a slight problem with facial hair. Its just white/clear-ish, baby fine, peach fuzzy hair that irks me. I have an emjoi but that is super painful. I may need to look into this.

  • Daituf

I have this… and yes, it can be painful…
But I love it, coz it’s so easy to use!
Then again, I tried waxing once and thought it was real fun…

    • the Muse

hey daituf I think the majority are with painful. I want to try it but I’m a little scared 😀

I normally thread which is WAY gentle than a slinky on my upper lip haha!

  • SilhouetteScreams

I have one of these 🙂 bought it from a Korean seller on ebay for $5 with free shipping! It hurts a tonne if you only pull out a couple of hairs, but if you pull out a bunch at the same time it’s not too bad

  • Angie Twe

    Product: Useless.
It’s not like I have a lot of facial hairs.
It’s not like a lot of girls have a lot of facial hairs as well.

    • Fee-ona

I could have a nice upper lip growth if I wanted. 😉 Trust me, there’s girls out there where facial hair is the bane of existance (yey for laser treatments!)

      • the Muse

hells to the yes fee-ona! Count me one of the hair ones 😀 haha! thank god for threading 😀

  • kirsty

You know, I actually have this to use on my ‘tache… and it works quite well! I used to wax, but my sensitive skin always reacted to it, so this is perfect for me. I still use tweezers on my brows though :p

    • the Muse

hey kirsty it scares me a little 😀 I used to be sensitive to wax but after doing it for a while I’ve grown accustomed to it 😀 this seems a tad difficult to use on brows anyway!

    • the Muse

ha nikki thanks for the heads up I was a wonderin’! 😀 How are you btw? long time no speak!

  • Lisa

I have some! I have to say they are great for my upper lip area – I react badly to everything else, waxing leaves me bleeding and bruised for a good couple of weeks, as does hair removal cream (even the sensitive skin stuff), and bleaching hurts so much. These are really simple to use, and faster than tweezing.

    • the Muse

hey lisa! I admit it scares me a little. omg you’re sensitive hun! bleeding? ouchie! god!

      • Lisa

It really isn’t painful, and I’d say it’s the same as tweezing, except it’s over quicker because you are pulling more hairs in one go.

Yeah being senstive sucks when you’ve got dark hair and hair coming froming everywhere 😉

  • ms

    hey muse,

i have this too… but well… in my shallow opinion, it doesn’t work. firstly, the surface area it has in contact with your skin is very small, which means you can only remove very little hair at a time, if you are those who are only hairy at the lips area then maybe it works. but being a hairy person myself, it doesn’t really remove much hair and it hurts….just like plucking it. and look at the video, imagine you have to use it to remove hair from the entire face, how long would it take? so i thought i’d try it for my eyebrow. hahah… but it’s not strong enough to even pull out a strand of hair from my brow. and since then, it has gone into some hiding place which i don’t even bother to seek. this is something the japanese ( i think) invented and the idea seems to be inspired by the old traditional way of Threading, which i still prefer and think that it’s the best facial hair removal method, though it hurts too. haha

    • the Muse

ms just what I suspected 😀 I thread and just figure it’s easier than using a slinky on my upper lip and eyebrows LOL! thanks for your mini review…I seriously don’t think I need this and honestly it scares me a little!

  • suz

I’ve been meaning to get one of these things but haven’t really…don’t know why I guess it’s cuz I’ve had laser hair removal and electrolysis done on my face already hahaha just a few tiny hairs left for electrolysis to KILLL!! But I’ve been lazy to go to electrolysis for a year now so it will be nice to get this without having to tweez I guess..if this works better.

get one & tell us about it!!

    • the Muse

I’m a little scared of it myself suz I’m a tad scared of doing electrolysis on my face for some reason so I just thread, tweeze or wax! LOL yea maybe! Do a mini review on plucking my hair out with the twist and roll 😀

  • kira

i’ve always been meaning to try this! i think i’ll go pick it up sometime this month 😀

  • tango

The whole time watching the video I was just mentally screaming. (How that model keeps a straight face I’ll never know.) But I’m still thinking about getting one! I have the most annoying little dark hairs on my upper lip, wax strips never get all of them, tweezing them takes forever, and while shaving works in a pinch they grow back right away. This horrible thing might be the lesser of several evils.

    • the Muse

lol tango me too. It was like listening to someone scratch their nails on a chalk board as it made me wince ouchie!

You NEVER know, could just work!!!!!!!

  • Jen

I have one, I don’t think it hurts anymore than waxing or any other method (except shaving of course but thats too temporary. My hair grows fast, so I have to do it once a week (I would have to wax or whatever that often as well). I wish some method lasted longer than a week- it’s such a crock that “6-8 weeks” they say for waxing or this thingy or any methods at all. My hair on my head grows 1/2 inch in 3 weeks (I’ve measured it every time I dye it lately since I’ve got a bunch of white hair), so maybe it all grows too fast. I’m just envious of those that can remove hair only occasionally.

    • the Muse

god jen me too. I wish I could not tweeze/wax/thread my brows for 6 to 8 weeks that would be blissful 😀 I am too. I personally have to keep at my brows or end up with a jungle hanging out around my forehead LOL!

I’m leaning towards trying this but a little scared 😀

  • Del

eek Musey! Much props to you if you try it & even more props to all those who have tried it! I don’t even want to watch the video- hee hee

  • Reggi

i saw this on pursebuzz’s blog awhile back! i want to try! cant be more painful than waxing x)

  • Leelee

A little late, but I guess some people aren’t using this thing correctly? I have one and it works pretty good for my *cough* ladystache *cough* Although it does hurt like nobody’s business the first time you use it

It takes some gettin’ used to and you have to buy a new one every 6 months (depending on how much you need use it, it may be longer).

I wish I could get electrolysis done . . . but it’s too gosh darn expensive!

    • the Muse

lol leelee ladystache eh? 😀 I have one of those lol! I’m actually scared of eletrolysis anywhere near my face so I stick to threading/waxing 😛 This scares me tbh! 😀
